Thanks
Apparently, Paradox have a sale on Steam now. 75% off CK2, EU4, HOI3 and lots of other strategy games. Best of all, 75% off on collections, it seems. CK2 Collection is 36€ instead of 150€. So I suggest getting it now if you're interested. Just looked up things to buy myself. Among the newer DLCs for CK2 and EU4, I feel like nothing is worth it. I got Reaper's Due but that's the only exception. Has the quality of the DLCs really fallen that low and the same time being overpriced.

I fucked up the UK so badly that they aren't even the UK anymore
Is that Scottish Africa?
Is that Scottish Africa?
It's fucking terrible is what all of it is
Is that Scottish Africa?
Scotland became a great power in that game :v
Does anybody else have a bug in Stellaris where if you wish to select a city appearance, it selects the one to the right? I can't select mammalian and molluscoid
This happens with mods that add cityscapes themselves, in species creation it wont show up selected but will still be used when saved.
Is it worth to buy Victoria 2 + Heart of Darkness or should I get the Victoria Collection (which includes all Victoria 1+ 2 content for cheaper than the former)?
Is it worth to buy Victoria 2 + Heart of Darkness or should I get the Victoria Collection (which includes all Victoria 1+ 2 content for cheaper than the former)?
V2+HoD is one of, if not the, best Paradox game of all time
HoD and House Divided are absolutely mandatory to play, mind you.
I badly want to get into V2, but by god I just cannot get a grasp of it.
I badly want to get into V2, but by god I just cannot get a grasp of it.
This. I was actually going to ask if anyone had any good tutorials or anything for Vic II. The wiki leaves a lot to be desired and most Youtube tutorials rush through a lot of stuff (Which is guess makes sense since they want to get to the gameplay) but I like to take my time figuring out what everything does and means.
Easiest civ to play as - United States. You get spammed with events early on but you're relatively isolated, start off as a great power, have lots of migrants and can easily industrialize. Easiest unciv to play as - Japan. The pacific is your playground and most AI can't justify attacking you until the early 20th century
I bought Victoria Collection just now. Would someone be willing to help me learn the basics of Victoria 2 so I'm not completely lost in the blue?

Prussia is a really good starting nation tbh. You've got a easily defined goal, a powerful army, and a lot of incentive to work with spheres. Savoy->Italy is pretty fun too.

That might prove somewhat difficult for a new player. Sweden is probably a better choice since it's pretty easy to form Scandinavia. You can also meme it up and release Jan Mayen so you can play as literal polar bears [editline]3rd September 2016[/editline] Scandinavia is also in a great position to colonize Africa since they inherit a tiny danish settlement on the coast near the very easily conquereable Sokoto
What's your favorite start in CK2? I'm looking for ideas, as a player that is semi experienced but still quite shit. The Byzantines look interesting to me, but I'm not sure who to start with.

You can also blind/castrate people who oppose/rebel without losing reputation with vassals. It's really fun playing as an Empire and expanding really fast. You gotta make sure the Muslims stay seperated and fractured or else it will be really difficult to take Jerusalem and Alexandria and the like. Also the easiest way to get Bulgaria imo is to arrange a marriage between your heir and theirs.

In terms of variety from what I've played, Latin Empire and Elexiad (is that what it's called?) are both the best, once you're done with 1066.

Is HOI4/Stellaris worth to buy currently? Or should I wait for more expansions to come with?
Is HOI4/Stellaris worth to buy currently? Or should I wait for more expansions to come with?
HoI4 is super barebones. Stellaris is basic af
Is HOI4/Stellaris worth to buy currently? Or should I wait for more expansions to come with?
If you liked HOI3, wait. If you like EU4, then maybe. The game is lacking a bunch of features currently. I hope the expansions make it closer to 3, because it feels too much like EU4 to me.
Yeah HoI4 is disappointingly too empty, and I'm just comparing that with my experience in EU4 Probably going to get Stellaris I heard good things about it
