Are you starting non-casus belli wars against countries you have military access and royal marriage with? That can sure fuck your day up.
I haven't started any non-casus belli wars against any countries (unless you count allies being dragged into one). How about if I take a province from a country (with whom I have military access/marriage with) allied with the one I'm in war against? Would that have the same effect.
The weirdest thing is that I'm not getting any prompts - doesn't that always happen?
On my current Russia game, the Austrian AI went full retard when I DoW'd Revolutionary France and sent all it's armies on a death march to China over land to fight one of France's insignificant allies, leaving me to fight France on Austria's borders alone.

The only thought I have is you might have potentially disabled a certain kind of alert window. No idea how you'd check that in Europa Universalis though.
First time doing a Backdoor Barbossa as Japan, lets hope it all goes to plan. I'm hoping to destroy most of the eastern army in Vladivostok by cutting them off in outer Manchuria and taking some pressure off the horrible job Germany is doing.

Recently I've been constantly playing Victoria 2 Ultimate mod. I decided to play as Poland released from Poland-Lithuania. Then I swallowed the neighbouring territories, formed the second, better Poland-Lithuania, but at some point I took a risk of surpassing the infamy limit.

Even though half of the world is at war with me, my most populous country in the world is having no problems with fending invaders off.

What happened to Ukraine?
Why is Kurdistan massive?
Why does Turkey have ownership over the Balkans and Albania but also Mosul?
Why is Belgium a rump state?
Why is Romania melting?
im having a fucking heart attack help
Is that an Italian Morocco I see?
Nope, it's Scandinavian. If I recall correctly, Denmark attacked it back in 1600's.
What happened to Ukraine?
When it became independent due to a crisis, half of it was already gone, since it was released from Crimea. Once it became civilized, it won back some territories from Poland-Lithuania and Russia.
Why is Kurdistan massive?
It was released as a result of another crisis and it conquered one region while Turkey was getting gangraped.
Why does Turkey have ownership over the Balkans and Albania but also Mosul?
It already did have those territories back in 1604. It also did conquer the entire territory of Czechoslovakia, Austria and Hungary. I took from them half of Austria and Czechoslovakia only recently, the national map still shows a thick red line between P-L and the Southern Europe.
All those blue territories mark the Turkey I have truce with.
Why is Belgium a rump state?
I'm not entirely sure, but I think that Flanders and Wallonia got released first. Then, when Belgium got somehow released, it had only one province.
Why is Romania melting?
I don't recall it being any smaller in that scenario. I think Moldavia was released at some point and due to having lots of prestige, it became a great power and shortly after it formed Romania.

Can anyone instruct me on installing mods for VIC2 on steam? I'd really apprecitate it.
Can anyone instruct me on installing mods for VIC2 on steam? I'd really apprecitate it.
The mod folder is in Steam\SteamApps\common\Victoria 2\mod
When you download mods it will have a folder and a tiny file, you extract the two to the mod folder and you'll be able to activate them at launch.
Well, something's wrong because I'm trying to install Historial Project Mod, and i've did everything, copied the folder and small file to the mod folder, cleared the map cache, and it still crashes :(

How is manpower calculated in HoI3? Is it that 1mp = 1k soldiers?

The latest version is pretty good, I think. While it does have some bugs, I wouldn't say it's not fun.
Also an update regarding my previous screenshot:

It turned out that it takes more than half of the world to destroy the glorious Commonwealth. I managed to dismantle Italy and, to some extent, the UK.

The Italian in me is deeply saddened to see Italy broken up like that.

How the hell did you survive long enough as poland to not be swallowed up instantly?
How the hell did you survive long enough as poland to not be swallowed up instantly?
It's quite easy with the 1604 start. Good relations and alliances (especially with the previous Poland-Lithuania) helped me a lot. Being surrounded by weak countries, like Pommerania and Brandenburg helped as well.
HOI4 got a new website

According to Podcat if you're France and the Vichy event happens you can choose to keep playing as either Vichy France or Free France.
I wonder if there is an option not to surrender period
I wonder if there is an option not to surrender period
That'd be Free France. Vichy France would be less you being forced to surrender and more you refusing to do it and part of your government telling you to fuck off.
At least imo.

Do you need to repeat that everytime it is posted?
We get it, you don't like it.
Also the colours appear to be fucked up in that screenshot.

well they're making it more of a Sandbox, so I would not be surprised if there was an option to not form Vichy France at all. I believe that is also an option in Darkest Hour.
Beyond the for me new knowledge that the capital of Belgium is called Vlaanderen instead of Brussels the map looks OK to me.
I prefer DH/hoi3's more angular provinces and easier to see regions.

HoI3 had a weird manpower system though, and making divisions were a pain aswell.

Ok that is weird. Why are they naming the Capital after the region and not the city?
I think the map would look better if they used either the flat, realistic looking map style from Victoria 2, or the map style from Crusader Kings 2. The maps from EU4 and HOI4 look too odd and computery. When you look at a map from Victoria 2 or EU3, it bares quite a bit of resemblance to an actual map, with the map creases, simple colors, and the paper background. With EU4 and HOI4, it looks nothing like an actual paper map, and instead more like Google Earth. Crusader Kings 2 has a nice hybrid going, the 3D isn't jarring, and the map style is that of a regular map, with the colors and borders.I'm sure someone will mod it to look better, but honestly Paradox should have stuck with the flat map style.
