I just played EU4 as the Ming Dynasty. Lost hard in the early 1500's.\
I'm bad at this.

90% of playing EU games is learning how to abuse the AI and the game systems, see previous Cyprus screenshot. Play enough and you can win as pretty much anyone, hell this is pretty much true for all of Paradox's grand strategy games.

I'm bad at this.
To be fair, Ming in EU4 is just really awful. It's not like EU3 where you have a good chance of remaining fully intact if you ever so decided to westernize, if you're not fully prepared, of course. Even then, you're gonna have to push back westernization time again because westernization events are brutal for Ming. Just sneezing will throw your country into chaos and rebels.
That said they're inclined to collapse every game. Except the games where you're playing as Manchu or something and they don't collapse and the most they'll go through is having 2 out of the several dozen possible chinese states break off.
Oh we're doing EU3 screenshots now?

I colonized south Africa, Madagascar and New Zealand for shits too. Was supposed to be a handsoff game but I got bored 100 years in and decided to go full-on trade.
[editline]a[/editline]
Also Aztec, Maya and Inca survived with only 1 province lost between them. New World colonization was really slow, nobody did it until deep into the 1700's
that america map is so non-shitty
remember when you could have a game without america being terrible
good times

Only because of Miscmods using events to regulate where colonial nations spawn. Vanilla DW still has Brazil-in-Africa syndrome.

I've done that as the knights in EU4 once.
I took Exploration ideas and immedietly headed straight for South America and subjugated the natives with my 2-3k men.
Well, i had to cut that CK2 hands-off (sorta, I meddled here and there) short at 1295. The comp was chugging along and it took 2-5m for a year to pass, and also the borders were just too nice. Started in 1066, ended in 1295.

1) England is a Theocracy
2) The HRE still exists, just crown authority was too low, but the emp. handed out kingdoms
3) Tengri reformed, here's hoping the Vicky converter allows it
4) Oh god Egypt help

If you want to play in Asia don't play as Ming. Ming blows, they have a terrible army (you could beat their 15 stack with a 7 stack), they have bursts of rebels every decade, really they're just a big collection of free provinces loosely held together.
New HOI4 screen

I think there should be a slider or some sort of option in pre-game HOI4 where you can add or subtract the % of the AI choosing Ahistorical Decisions. so those people who want Historical decisions can have that, and those who like some ahistorical stuff can have that.
One thing I do like is that the manpower is a little bit more exact. Seeing something like "3371 Manpower" in the previous games made me ask "3371 what, exactly."

It's really just adding a thousand at the end so 3371 would be 3 million something
A big blue blob, but not controlled by the Karlings

Also Great Britain is under the control of the Bretons. All three kingdoms are under the same Breton family. Although the Welsh branch branch went Native.
Crusader Kings really isn't an appropriate name for the full expanded game now :v:
I mean it is still a good name for the game without expansions.

Groogy says that compatibility for normal save games is a maybe. Ironman games however, no.
So I expect all of China to be in by Christmas at this rate
Oh god
more steppe content
they call me "He of the Eternal Boner"

1650s so far in my CK2>EUIV campaign. Colonial nations are springing up.
At 1821, should I have colonial nations of the same culture+touching be integrated (I.E 13 Colonies/USA integrating English Mexico if they're touching)? That'd make it (hopefully) less straining on the converter but would obviously lead to some serious blobs.

no, if you don't mind outright "creative liberty" asspull I'd make it it's own independent nation. That's what I did for most colonial nations in my CK2-Vick2 megacampaign.
[editline]2nd June 2015[/editline]
Or actually have a event where they are integrated but it/they break off as a independent nation once the ACW fires (if it does fire in your campaign or you decide to make your own variation of it), for a English Mexico anyway. I'm not sure what you can do for SA stuff because that's tougher, but if you do do integration for them, I think you should do it through unions, sort of like how HPM or whatever those reddit/gsg mods do it with Peru-Bolivia confederation as a example. Aside from that you could probably make up fluff that SA colonial nations break free with the help of the USA through the duration of the EU-VIC time gap. As I said, this is sort of what I did in my own but it's your own call.

Time to convert!
Larger Map: The Central Asian plains have been expanded
PARADOX.
STOP.
WE DON'T NEED MORE MAP.
We need all the map.
Except the Americas
and south africa
and south east asia.
Char le meme and Rajas of India tumor DLC already make the game horribly laggy.
Its Crusader Kings, not the Heavenly Mandate, we don't need China.
