That map still looks like shit.
I'm sure the first mod will be Accurate German flags, and then the second mod will be a flat/solid colour map Honestly I like it. [editline]8th June 2015[/editline] EU4 Patch notes https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads%2F1-12-full-patchnotes.860245%2F

Like how your colonies declare war with other colonies and there is nothing you can do about it, you don't get called into a war, can't enforce peace, can't declare war, can't help, can't do anything while they fight in endless wars and even take provinces. Same for vassals with France, i've had Burgundy as my vassal declare war on my other vassals while i was in a war. Enforce peace needs to be reworked or maybe it's just me who doesn't understand how it works but i wanted to use it so many times, and i never could. The AI never ever removes provinces from the HRE even if they are -200 relation and enemy/rival with the Emperor. They never add any provinces to it either. You get the emperor demanding to return unlawful territory if you conquer an imperial province even if you are part of the empire. Why? It's not really unlawful territory since your country is part of the empire. However if you are allied with the emperor, that never happens. EDIT: Continuing with stupid AI things They still join alliances with countries that are extremely far away from eachother and travel trough half a continent to get to you. They should be a lot less likely to accept alliance if you are far away. Castille allying with Sweden and then Sweden coming down to Italy in two wars should not happen. Also if no battle, blockade or siege or any sort of contact happens between two countries who are at war after a certain amount of time, then they should automatically accept white peace or some sort of peace. Distance between countries should also be a modifier if it isn't already. I hate how countries who are very far from you, join a war and do nothing, not even send units to fight, but just drag down your warscore and it's impossible to make peace with them or do anything about it. I've also noticed that the AI is constantly in debt and goes over the force limit in both navy and army a lot even when they aren't at war for a long time. Also i've had Moldavia who was Orthodox ally with Bohemia who is Catholic, the same as me, and then Bohemia crushing me because Moldavia declared a religious war on me and they felt like protecting their Orthodox brethen. That's just utterly stupid. Again, different religious countries should be a lot less likely to ally with eachother. And i mean a lot less likely There needs to be a positive opinion modifier for each country for being in a League together These things should be fixed
these screenshots just make me more excited for the Vic2 converter and the inevitable grand campaigns
I really haven't been following hoi4 news at all. Was there a confirmed vick2 converter for hoi4, or someone planning on a unofficial one?
I really haven't been following hoi4 news at all. Was there a confirmed vick2 converter for hoi4, or someone planning on a unofficial one?
I just see the fan converter as an inevitability.
I'd 1000% rather see Vic III and an official EU4-V3-HoI4 converter than a fan made V2-HoI4 converter.
I'd 1000% rather see Vic III and an official EU4-V3-HoI4 converter than a fan made V2-HoI4 converter.
Why? The EU4 - VIC2 converter is already much better than the CK2 - EU4 converter. I doubt fans couldn't do it better than a Paradox one.
Why? The EU4 - VIC2 converter is already much better than the CK2 - EU4 converter. I doubt fans couldn't do it better than a Paradox one.
Vic2 is so fucking bad though
Vic2 is so fucking bad though
Vicky II is hands down one of the best. The only thing that ever irked me about the game was that the economy utterly breaks at the end of the game because of the absurd surplus of raw materials.
The alliance system is pure crap. "Allies" constantly betray you, and IF they would actually join your war, they'll just take what they want and make a separate peace and leave you to die.
I've literally never had an issue with allies betraying me. You're probably just expecting allies to help you mindlessly blob like they do in EU.
Let's not forget democracies, communist and fascist countries allying each other which makes no sense. It's also so fucking hard to get an alliance with someone, especially if they are a great power, and even worse, if they are Great Britain, because they have so many puppets that they won't accept an ally offer from anyone.
Literally everything you've said so far isn't true
The only game breaking mechanic in Victoria 2 is the way capitulation in Great Wars is handled. In my megacampaign I had a great war between Byzantium and it's allies ( Including a Byzantine-Chinese superstate ) and Francia, allied with Czechoslovakia, which includes pretty much all of Europe. I was playing a North African Byzantine nation ( Half of the Asian world consisted out of Byzantine-successor states, due to me dividing the extremely large Byzantine empire into successor states at the end of CK2, leading to a pretty cool Greek-Oriental world in EU4 and Vicky 2 ), and the war was probably larger in scale than the first world war in our timeline. The war went pretty well, with the Byzantine Alliance invading French-England and the main front was slowly moving from the Balkans into central Europe. Just when the western armies were about to break, someone occupied the Island of Sicily ( An extremely small sovereign state in the Byzantine alliance ). For some reason ( I think it was the crisis starter which tiggered the world war ) Sicily send a peace offer to Francia, and could force all nations in the Byzantine Alliance to disarm. Even worse, the war beween the alliances went on ( Except for Sicily ), and half of our armies and our entire fleets vanished in thin air while the French were still fighting us.
Common Sense is out btw [editline]9th June 2015[/editline] Oh wow, they also updated the CK2 > EU4 Converter
Common Sense has screwed up the diplomacy system, I was playing as Holland, Austria were my ally and also were at war with Friesland. I decided to declare war on Friesland too independently and found that I was now at war with Austria. GG Paradox.
Deff Paradox's fault no way it could have been prevented.
Think about it, Why would Austria declare war on me for declaring war on one of their enemies?
Friesland is almost always made a Free City by Austria now, which means they're permanently guaranteed independence by the Emperor (AKA Austria), by attacking Friesland you flipped Austria from attacker to defender. The only one at fault here is you for not reading up on the new HRE mechanics.
Seems to me like there's a distinct lack of Common Sense in this expansion.
Don't like the new sieging system. If you have low income = don't have forts you're fucked if you get thrown into war.
Seems to me like there's a distinct lack of Common Sense in this expansion.
Even though it's completely your fault
Even though it's completely your fault
It's not my fault that Paradox have made it so that the foreign policy of the HRE is now entirely inconsistent. Why would the emperor be at war with a state and then suddenly be defending it the next day, even though their ally was the one attacking it?
Because you made it visible that your a threat against their interests?
I fail to see how Holland taking Friesland is a threat against the interests of Austria.
