Disabling/not owning any “Dynasty Coat of Arms” DLC, will make the dynasty have blank (just plain white or black) CoAs instead of defaulting to a common one
I do own them though
So do I and they work fine.
Weird.
Terrible launch and flag bug aside, Horse lords is probably my favorite DLC after Old Gods.

really? i found it pretty bland tbh. Most of the cool stuff was just quality of life things added in the patch, while playing the horde is a pretty average experience.
Time to wait for a mod that removes India again.
Whoop whoop!

Why?
I wish I still had this save.

Reminds me of more bullshit.
I had the Knights Templar somehow acquire all of Hungary, and up into Poland. Since they were a holy order you couldn't declare war on them either, and iirc trying to get chancellor de jure claims never worked.
It also removed them from being hired so europe got buttblasted by jihads.
Why?
Atlasscore basically said it. I feel that India is a gimmick and had no overall bearing to Crusader Kings in Europe or even Arabia, nor can they actually hold their own unless with some massive luck.
It's gimmicky to me, I might go and become a horde, slide down there just for the joke of being Mongolians of India.
India really was just a dumb addition to the game
I would have preferred it to be it's own scenario or something.

The only thing that can happen with India is that they expand into Persia.
India is a boring and very, very dull region to play in CK2.
They only made it worse by not filling in the huge wasteland between india and the new provinces

To be fair they needed that because the Mongolian AI would eat up all the weak states and completely butcher them.
Has been way worse before.
That's not a thing to brag about...

Also it is historically near-impassable desert and the tallest mountains in the world and the reason why India and Central Asia have such different genealogy and culture

Having millions of men die of attrition trying to invade across the Himalayas would make the region interesting.
The problem with India is that the "border" between India and Persia always remains very static. At best There's some Indian state expanding a bit into Baluchistan. Sometimes the Ghaznavids are successful for a while but it usually doesn't last long.
Overall I liked the RoI map expansion though because it makes more sense than just stopping at a straight line in the middle of Persia.

Considering Paradox's history with programming AI it would be more trouble than its worth.
Considering Paradox's history with programming AI it would be more trouble than its worth.
I can see it now.
"Oh golly gosh this attrition is hard, better go through it."
"Oh wait, I better head back."
"Nevermind I have to actually go if I want to get that land."
"Aaaaaand i'm at 500 men."

Or you could...idk...go around
So is the DLC worth buying yet or is it better to wait for more fixes?

they could've made the himalayas impassible but make the tibetan plateau filled in
They're saving Tibet for the China DLC probably...

it all depends on if you are interested in playing as a nomad. personally im mixed about it.
also even if you dont have the expansion you can still play the factions just as a tribal instead i think.

I recently started a Muslim character and am getting used to the differences, but yeah, I am interested in nomads.
What I don't care about is Indians, and I don't know if there's a way to remove India to speed the game up

Give it about a day or two and someone will update a copy of the No India mod
A bunch of redditers (of course) complaining that hordes are OP and posting huge fucking blobs that they formed.
So yes if you game the system of CK2 which is the easiest Paradox game, yes you can make yourself fairly OP.
"Ugh hordes are so OP" *plays as norse merchant byzantine emperor because jejy jej*

Haha oh god.
"Before patch 2.4, one of the main reasons for CK2 running slowly in the lategame was that every Greek AI was evaluating every other character in the realm to see whether they could castrate them. In the worst cases 70% of the overall AI demands were about castrating or blinding someone."

Videogames mirror Real Life.
I, too, sit on my throne while playing the game, wondering which person I would like to kidnap just to blind or castrate.
