The only thing that can happen with India is that they expand into Persia. India is a boring and very, very dull region to play in CK2.
For me this is fixed by modding the CB's to not last a lifetime but like 3 years or something. CK2 in itself isn't fun enough when you can't go to war, for me at least.
https://www.reddit.com/r/paradoxplaza/comments/3dfutg/til_that_before_patch_24_one_of_the_main_reasons/ Haha oh god. "Before patch 2.4, one of the main reasons for CK2 running slowly in the lategame was that every Greek AI was evaluating every other character in the realm to see whether they could castrate them. In the worst cases 70% of the overall AI demands were about castrating or blinding someone."
That's a Dwarf Fortress level bugfix.
Nothing will ever top the bug where the presence of Jews made the Mongols more powerful.
Does CK2+ interfere with EMF?

[editline]16th July 2015[/editline]
Nothing will ever top the bug where the presence of Jews made the Mongols more powerful.
Like, how exactly did that even work? What modifiers were triggered?
Like, how exactly did that even work? What modifiers were triggered?
They'd get more troops but I have no idea why
Fixed an issue with ridiculously powerful Mongol stacks if there were Jews in the world

They'd get more troops but I have no idea why
The Jews were bankrolling the Khan's armies due to the policy of letting anyone practice what religion they wanted :v:
What do you mean by that exactly?
I have done some quirks and fixes here and there to the files of CK2 to basically make it more fun for me to play. India was horribly boring just sitting around as a Hindu leader, so I changed their subjugation CB to ignore the cooldown, and instead added some house rules to myself to limit my attacks, also it made it a bit more difficult since now other Hindu leaders could use the CB as much as they wanted. [editline]16th July 2015[/editline] Playing as a horde is so fucking fun. I am now playing as the Magyars (Hungarians) from 768, planning to limit my expansion and settle in Italy, basically creating a new kingdom in Italy ruled by Hungarians.
How exactly did you do that? I'd want that so AI blobs are more common, I find that extremely fun to be playing along and then "Oh shit giant enemies" and you get these epic, pivotal wars [editline]16th July 2015[/editline] uh what
Since CK2 DLC is on sale, what would be best to get for around 15$ CDN?
India was a good expansion for challenging myself to get from Iceland to India. However it's quite ridiculous how quickly Indians became Norse and accepted the true faith of Odin in a span of like 200 years.

If you are a Hindu Indian king and conquer the entire region before 1000 AD, you'll still have to wait until the end game for the place to be converted religiously, and culturally it will have changed little-to-none. You could then start as a Catholic, Sunni or Tengri ruler of a non-Indian culture and you'll be ethnically cleansing the subcontinent in a couple decades if you have good stewards.
Additional Info: I have Old Gods and The Republic expansions to CK2, is Horse Lords any good? Or are there better expansions?
Additional Info: I have Old Gods and The Republic expansions to CK2, is Horse Lords any good? Or are there better expansions?
Horse lords is okay-ish. Honestly, nomads are a bit tough from the first stages because you're going to spend your first 4-7 years at war with your neighbors who want to pick you apart, and then dealing with unhappy clans because you farted in your sleep and you offended Him of the Eternal Sky so they hate you. After that though you can kinda wrestle everything down and get it in good order. [editline]16th July 2015[/editline] Also nomads are very easy to get big blobs rolling but your #1 roadblock is ensuring that you don't have too many clans/your clans are happy. Large enemy nomad blobs will be your worst enemy because you'll be slugging it out for years with no real outcome.

Is Sons of Abraham any good?
Additional Info: I have Old Gods and The Republic expansions to CK2, is Horse Lords any good? Or are there better expansions?
You'd probably want Legacy of Rome for the retinues, or Horse Lords for the tributaries+nomads. Way of life would also probably be a good choice since it makes playing long games bearable
So the new DLC broke my AGOT mod. Tried reinstalling it but doesn't work. Got no solution other than wait for a fix by the mod devs. Anyone else experiencing something alike?

I recall I just removed this line in "india_subjugation" in cb_types:

This happens with every patch/DLC You can revert back to the last CK2 patch on steam if you go to the beta tab under properties. Just make sure to disable the Mongol DLC if you own it.
Going to attempt recreating the empire of Attila the Hun wishmeluck
Should be better [editline]17th July 2015[/editline] 'Gross' Jesus man, what do you have against 3D maps?
No no, it's just that sometimes names with the font mods would get stretched over mountains and look like it melted [editline]17th July 2015[/editline]
Who are you starting as to do that?
Taik, 769. Obviously going with a custom character mainly for dynastic names. Also using the "Dynasty Tracker" mod, it's really neat. It basically allows you to have a trait that does not affect any stats, and it automatically goes to anyone in your bloodline. This even counts if you end up, say, having your granddaughter not be part of your dynasty. Because she is blood related to you via mother/father, she will get that trait. A dynasty that you chose could go extinct but the trait would still be floating around. It's just tough to track later down the line since I don't know how to find specific people with specific traits. So was Horse Lords worth it?
So was Horse Lords worth it?
I actually already like it more than the India DLC, invading and settling as Steppe Nomads is very fun, as I imagine how it changes the society and the history of the regions. It also makes the Magyars pre-869 AD and Alans not horribly annoying to play. And I also like them taking a realistic approach on how to simulate steppe nomadic governments, something we have needed since CK1 IMHO.

"Let us create the Third Church of Solomon." "Yes my Liege." *Years later* "It is done my liege." "Alright cool i'm gonna head down to Egypt with my tribe." "And the Church?" "I'll come back to it in a few years."
