they probably couldn't find a way to implement nuke mana and market a gorbachev's reforms dlc [editline]21st July 2015[/editline] only $6.99 to change the colour of mikhail's port wine stain!!!
Where is all the cold war love? East vs West deserves to be finished, imo.
I want it too, but it was far too ambitious. Paradox gave the team a very limited amount of time to basically make Hearts of Iron 3 have a baby with Victoria 2 and then mix its DNA with Europa Universalis 4. It could be done, but it just has to be given a window 10x bigger than it was
Because there's a lot of untapped potential with pre-Punic, Republican-era Rome. Byzantium can suck a fuck. The Punic Wars, the Marian reforms, the Triumvirate. It's all really fascinating.
Rome Standalone for CkII. Imagine playing as a Roman family trying not just to expand Rome but also become Consul/Dictator/Emperor. That would be a great multiplayer experience. I'm surprised there isn't a mod for this. If there is I haven't seen and the fact that I can't find it probably means that it isn't good.
When is Paradox going to nerf the hordes. It's pretty fucking ridiculous that I can buy every mercenary in the world and still lose because they keep getting horse archers (which also replenish like mercenaries.)

Sometimes the random world generator can be a little crazy [t]http://i.imgur.com/o6IuiW4.png[/t] They even started with Territory in Alaska They're Mongol, Chinese Tech group [editline]21st July 2015[/editline] Huh, apparently Jan Mayen spawns in random worlds even if you have dynamic names on.
Huh, apparently Jan Mayen spawns in random worlds even if you have dynamic names on.
They do but iirc they aren't "BearHasLanded" Jan Mayen. I wonder if the EUIV>Vicky2 converter has been updated for Common Sense since I plan on doing random worlds and letting it run handsoff while I'm at college today

You can access it through steam [t]http://i.imgur.com/macK1sT.png[/t] [editline]22nd July 2015[/editline] Random World should have an option for Random tech group regions. Like, some games Asia will be Western, and Europe will have the Chinese Tech group.

Ok Im going fucking nuts here. Everytime I try to save a game in Hoi3 (blackice) the game crashes, every single fucking time I save it crashes. I just got from 36 to 39 and decided to save and all my progress was gone. Fuck this game.
I just bought EUIV and holy shit that intro music cant wait to get my ass kicked from the underlying complexity I've heard of
I just bought EUIV and holy shit that intro music cant wait to get my ass kicked from the underlying complexity I've heard of
Just don't be stupid and try to expand like a madman and you'll be fine. It takes maybe one or two games to get a functional understanding of the game.
Yeah, from what I've read it's harder to expand and the AI actually gives a fuck about it.
It depends. The first part of your game should focus on making vassals or acquiring personal unions, which when annexed you don't get Aggressive Expansion impacts. Once you've blobbed up it becomes extremely easy to expand. Also never trust the Ottomans, France or Muscovy, those shits never backed me up when I needed it.
I just bought EUIV and holy shit that intro music cant wait to get my ass kicked from the underlying complexity I've heard of
TBH There are a lot of things in EUIV that feel much more simple than EUIII. In EUIV it's way too easy now to just run off to the new world and come back in full force since population for provinces isn't a factor anymore (though with the updates to infrastructure that might be the case but since I don't even fucking have the DLC I can't do anything with that anyways).
Yep, but they sure will walk half fucking continents to fuck you up if they so desire.
I feel like thats one of the major barriers to realism in Paradox's games. Attrition over long distances is absolutely insane. The reason the American colonies had any chance to win their revolution was that England had to spend months to send troops to them and spend tons of cash on support ships. I feel like they can excuse it a bit in Vic II and even late-game EUIV where logistics are better, but some of the long-distance fuckery I've seen in CK:II is just plain silly. More attrition and more pricey supply lines would make the wars alot better, but I guess the new fort siege system in EUIV is supposed to somewhat represent that.
Yeah, way too often in CK2 I see rulers who own shit halfway across the world, and are able to defend it.
Not even going as far as across the world, but my empire from a Pictish playthrough consists of Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, Middle & East Francia and a county in pre-Norway, and I can actually send my huge levies from Fortriu down to Francia and defend it all. It's too easy imo
Augustus will be a new IP, and will be revealed at Gamescom. https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/augustus-teaser-1-23rd-of-july-2015.872437/
They are also giving hints every weekday until the reveal.
Attrition is actually only an issue very early and very late game in CK2. By that I mean, in the early game raiding pagan lands is basically going to always fail due to attrition, and late game invading the Middle East is nigh impossible because you need huge armies to counter theirs and you'll have attrition rates of 10%. Even then I've still conquered the whole world 2 games, but I've literally lost a million men to attrition in one of them.
Paradox also does a terrible job of actually simulating how large the armies even large nations actually used. Hell the Siege of Orléans had maybe 15k troops present between both sides. But I guess this all comes back to the more or less lack of supply lines being simulated.

Like.. you'll actually take debts for wars, run of oil/food during campaigns.
Augustus confirmed for new IP
