Like, I'm not a fan of how WTWSMS* did its culture where every other province had a different culture and that culture shifts happened at the drop of a hat, but I do want there to be more than just 'German' in CK2 and shit.

Well at least 'Visigothic' is in the Iberian group, and the names are mostly based on the kings of Asturias and of the late Visigothic kingdom, which makes sense. So really it's just a united Iberian culture with a somewhat anachronistic name. It's like when French culture was called Frankish; a bit silly but not a big deal.
Suebi is just baffling to me because I have no idea how Paradox came to the conclusion that the Suebi were relevant in 769 (let alone 867) and that Galicia was wildly different from the rest of Iberia to the point of being completely Germanic in culture. (Not to mention that before the community stepped in they had the same name list as Germans.)
Like what's next? Vandals? Burgundians?
I get that it's fun to have underdog cultures like Frisian (btw Frisians were extinct in 867 apparently according to CK2) but there's so many other cultures they could have added that have some basis in history unlike Suebi.
How do I consolidate power and weaken my vassals so these fuckfaces will stop revolting? Its a pain in the ass to have to deal with 30k armies and infighting.

There wasn't any sort of Macedonian identity as we know it today until after WW2.

Macedonians considered themselves superior to the Greeks but still Greeks nonetheless as far as I know. There is still great debate between them and the Greeks to this day over their use of the name Macedonia since it's tied so closely to Greece itself.
As far as I can tell anyways the people there now aren't the same ones that were there during ancient Greece anyways. Slavs moved in sometime around the 4th century.
I always thought Macedonians were Bulgarians.

I don't know how I managed to pull this off, but the ruler I was playing as died after a period of illness and the kingdom was split amongst my two child sons while I was in the middle of a war with some muslim nations, I promptly won the war and declared war on the other brother but just after it begun practically the entirety of the Muslim African nations declared war on me. With all these wars going on and barely any soldiers I was pretty fucking screwed and outnumbered while trying to just siege my brother's lands while I could, all I could do was let the Muslim nations wreak havoc on my land. I was outnumbered, overwhelmed with wars, just barely past the age of 16, with shitty council members and a quickly growing debt. Eventually my brother died in battle because of his own wars he made (which I inherited), giving me his kingdom, and I quickly made peace in those wars before being offered by practically the entire fucking European mainland to join my wars against the Muslims, the Pope started pouring in gold to fund me, and soon like 20,000 angry Germans showed up on the Muslim's doorstep to have a word with them. I won all the wars with more gold than I had had in like a century, my kingdom reunited, new alliances formed, and an almost literal 100 percent approval rate from my vassals (many of them had an opinion of me of 100 and nobody thought negatively of me.)
So, uh, swag.
The only thing is that I think I might have fucked up on land distribution, because I'm not able to raise half the soldiers I used to. I used to be able to reach like 10,000 soldiers easily, now I'm struggling to get 5000-6000. Any way I can get this back up? I reckon it might be because I've got mostly duchies and kingdoms under my belt and not so much counties anymore. I'll have to check that during the regency some levy decreasing laws weren't put in place. Speaking of, how can I raise crown authority without causing shitfits? It's going to take a couple generations but I'm trying to get primogeniture instated so my realm isn't torn in half every time I die, but the vassals really seem to do everything they can to lower crown authority when I try to raise it.

Well your post didn't make it clear at all that your first and second sentences were about different people.
Anyway on the topic of culture I'm still upset about "Swiss" culture being in Vaud and Wallis (wtf is Swiss culture anyway). Also Old Prussian being removed.

It's been a looong, loong time since I played After The End.
Super glad to see they're still working on it and have expanded all the way to the west coast now.

But in all seriousness, After the End is my favorite mod. I only hope they incorporate some CK2+ features such as personal fighting skills, trials, and other flavor events.
Also, I would recommend holding off on expanding into New England, because if you do, [sp] You'll be the first victims of the British and their 75k strong invasion force. [/sp]

My After The End games keep getting mega sluggish after a couple years, almost to the impossible to play level. :saddowns:
