IIRC if you fabricate a claim on the county then place it on the same spot I think it will fabricate on the duchy next

I'm looking at the event: if your chancellor has less than 15 diplomacy he won't get a claim on the duchy. Otherwise there's a random chance to get a claim the duchy instead of the county, which gets higher at 18 diplomacy and even higher at 20.

If you already have a claim on the county it looks like you'll always get a claim on the duchy since that's the only possible outcome (but again if the chancellor has less than 15 diplomacy nothing will happen).

Wondering how many traits can be mixed and matched amongst the AI, and how often there's repeating traits.

Because the big thing I fear is that there will always be "Xenophobic warlike civilization" and "Hippy peaceful researchers" every play through.

Legit, CK2 gave me the final push to want to become a history teacher.

The tech trees I believe go up to the 50s.

I don't know, I kind of liked the awfully trollish looking child's art style of the pre-release Crusader Kings 2 portraits.

There's a certain charm to drawn portraits rather than 3D ones. It fits the theme well.

Also different cultures could have portraits that not only look different but are drawn in different styles, which would be pretty neat.
