Almost made it to GP status as Portugal. Was about to puppet Oranje after annexing Zulu and puppeting Transvaal. Then GB jumps in to help Oranje and cockblocks me from controlling all of Africa. *shakes fist* Saw my industry fall apart as I fell down the rankings since my factories weren't able to import shit, my battle plan to invade Spain was useless as I had to decide between focusing on my military or keeping my industry on life support. God damn brits.

I like the idea of a new nations customizer, but I'd really like it if they tweaked it into just a in-game map editor. Being able to alter all the countries with no limits would be interesting, and it would be helpful when (they never will) update support for converter games to fix borders.

The converter works fine now with the new provinces. Has for a couple months I believe. at least I have not noticed any issues.

So shit's just got real. While I was completing the Reconquista, a little known bastard of my father's revealed himself to be an exceptional warrior - actually, scratch that, an exceptional king; the guy's lowest stat is 11, and his martial's at 31, with basically every virtue plus Strong. Rather than try to assassinate the guy, the king of Castille (soon to be Emperor of Spain) granted him rulership over the Duchy of Thrace, and ownership of Constantinople itself. His name was Wilmarna di Constantinople, and after some digging around I discovered he was begat from a lowborn Greek girl my current ruler's father seduced while ruling in Constantinople (which has become a hereditary title for oldest prince) which explains his last name. For years I expected this Duke to eventually turn his sights on claiming the Kingship - after all, he was amazing in every way, had the wealth to fund a war, and was (as I raised him personally) Ambitious. Except it never happened, he never once got below 75 Opinion, even after I had a little tyrannical spree revoking titles to pretty up my personal demesne. The guy loved me, and obviously I felt obligated to love him back; after completing the Reconquista, I granted him the Kingdom of Greece, and made it my personal mission to obliterate what remained of the Byzantine Empire to grant him Kingship over Anatolia and, hopefully grant him the Latin Empire. I even gave him my heir to mentor, since I doubt anything wrong can happen in his care. All of this occurred while the Pope declared a Crusade for Jerusalem, which I managed to conquer and establish as the new "title" to be held by my heir. From here, who knows? I have become friends with England, and France has thus far been little trouble, we're on the cusp of 1000 AD, and there's plenty of time to go. Exceptions being the Caliphates, which are empires instead of ducal titles now, and samrat chakravartin india which is still an empire if you manage to make that shit it's an important distinction otherwise the Umayyads wouldn't have taken the entire arabian empire fun fact the umayyads had around 20k troops to the abbasids 60-70k and still won, fucking genius ai play right there

To me, HoI4 just looks like "we took Hearts of Iron and made it appeal to mobile gamers". It looks like a browser game to me, not a Hearts of Iron game
