What I mean is exactly that. Don't punish the player immediately for expansion, that's just a terrible design decision. Players should have to notice that problems are piling up over time, much like they would IRL, not an instant "WOW UR INFAMOUS I GUESS FUCK U"
CkII had it perfectly (without Op retinues) until the infamy thing.
Also guys, in my opinion CK2 has been slowly dropping in quality after Old Gods because after that DLC most of the CK2 team left for EU4 and other future titles. Currently the lead on CK2 is groggy, one of the least experienced in the company (he's still awesome and I hate to shit talk him like this) and 2 other guys. That's it. Groggy's been leading since the sons of Abraham and it shows.
Any huge changes like supply will need to wait until CK3 now, they simply don't have the team anymore.
CK II's still great but it peaked at Old Gods imo.
imo coalitions are still a good idea in principle. The concept of circumstantial alliances against a common threat definitely makes sense, and it's good for the AI since it's bad at long term planning.
But coalitions shouldn't be the main factor that limits blobbing.
They existed irl so they have a place in the game but they shouldn't be so heavy handed and spread across all your borders.
The Ottomans invading Hungary should create a coalition out of Countries near Hungary, a holy league of sorts. We shouldn't be seeing the Mamlukes and Timurids jumping into that shit.
Holy shit you can fucking assassinate Hitler? Awesome.
Says a group of Wehrmacht did it, so I'm going to assume it is a random or set event that has the chance of going off. Maybe based on national unity or whatever factors are in the game now.

What the fuck is going on here?
"Thunder Dragon Empire" what?
Why does Japan own Manchuria and Menjiang when the Japanese made a point of making sure Manchuria was a recognized independent country?
Why is it just "China" and not the Republic of China if you're going to have "Communist China"?
The fuck is that name placement for Japan?
The fuck is the "Thunder Dragon Empire"!?
Could be a mod, could be the name for Fascist Tibet.
Might be a developer joke that won't be in the release version.
Remember this is a leaked beta screen, not one approved for public release.
Japan's name placement is because they did the stupid thing and just put the country name on every piece of controlled territory instead of "Japanese China" or whatever.
Beta leaked naming new countries I think. I'm guessing its client states you can set up with custom naming and they haven't shown it off in dev diary.

I can't really find any examples of coalitions existing at the time of CKII. As far as I can tell the Holy Leagues that appeared against the Ottoman invasions didn't materialize until the 1500s or so.

I wonder if there is a form somewhere with people leaking screens and info
How easy it to get into Victoria 2 without watching a 8 hour guide on it? Also, is there any way for the CKII converter to EU4 conveter to work,, and is there a EU4 victoria 2 converter?
is there any way for the CKII converter to EU4 conveter to work
After the converter finishes go to
"Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\eu4_export\mod"
Find the .mod file, open it in a text editor and change the "supported_version=" line to 1.14

It really isn't difficult. So long as you aren't trying to stay as an absolute monarchy or presidential dictatorship you can control pop militancy just by passing reforms, don't try and play a minor power the first couple of games because you'll probably fail pretty hard. For a first game Prussia isn't too bad since it is fairly simple to form Germany as long as you pick your allies wisely. All else fails just ask questions here and I'm sure someone will have the answer.
Also Sardania-Piedmont to Italy is easy enough so long as you suck-up to France.
Playing Victoria 2, Britain was Allied with Japan, and Japan went to war with Korea to Puppet it them, at the last moment UK pulled a Conquer war Goal and conquered Korea.
Does anyone know if SWMH is compatible with the EUIV converter now. There used to be an explicit mention that it wasn't in the HIP thread but now that's been removed but there also isn't any mention of doing anything differently with the converter when SWMH is installed which just strikes me as odd.

Victoria 2 is a very simple game. The economics is common sense shit and the military stuff is basically the same as any other paradox games (more focus on tech that you should read a guide on).
Only annoying stuff to get an understanding of is the politics and spheres. Should probably just play with a guy that knows the game or do your first game as the Spain to get a hang of things.
The only thing to really be aware of when playing VII as far as the economy goes is that it's inevitable that late game the industry of anyone that doesn't have a massive population and massive industrial base will utterly crash because the entire world is producing probably twice the goods that the world actually consumes.
It might be worth noting that, since the Vic2->Hoi3 converter has been polished up, that with a little bit of tweaking a megacampaign is actually feasible at this moment. I'm fighting as an democratic, ex-Byzantine, Sino-Indian superstate in hearts of Iron 3 now, defending myself from the authoritarian governments of rest of the world in a massive world war.
There were talks about a Victoria 2 to Darkest Hour converter since it'd have smoother options for transition but it just fell off the face of the earth
Also guys turns out the Thunder Dragon thing is actually real: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Druk
Pretty badass, although does sound fucking stupid out of context. Fascist Bhutan is probably not going to turn up all that often anyway.
OH so it wasn't Tibet. That makes more sense

Oh okay so Bhutan just conquered Nepal and Tibet and gets renamed the fucking "Thunder Dragon Empire" sure okay yeah

What if British raj conquers Thailand? Rajs British raj's Thailand? Its beta I'm aware of it but paradox just seems to try and be edgy at this point. Or it's just a joke I don't know

It's a sign of trying to pander to non-Grand Strategy players while completely ignoring what made previous Hearts of Iron games entertaining

The player could have been cheating. Who knows.

I sure as fuck hopes its a joke, its hilarious in screenshots out of context but I don't want that shit in my game.
Thunder Dragon is the English translation of the Bhutan dragon. Would you rather it be called the Druk Empire?
"Bhutan is called Druk Yul "Land of Druk", and Bhutanese leaders are called Druk Gyalpo, "Thunder Dragon Kings"."

What the fuck Livonian Order how the fuck are you even here
[editline]12th December 2015[/editline]
This is in fucking Indonesia
The fuck is up with your map.
I have a couple mega blobs and a couple custom nations (one that got out of control) and they have taken control of wasteland provinces.
If you turn off borders, controlled wastelands look really seamless

Yeah, honestly, the name "Thunder Dragon" just brings Kung Pow! Enter the Fist type stuff to my head.
