Yeah, honestly, the name "Thunder Dragon" just brings Kung Pow! Enter the Fist type stuff to my head.
While it seems a bit ahistorical, lets not forget that if history had gone just a bit differently in real life, we might be looking at paradox maps of 1939 china labeled "Great Peaceful Kingdom of Heaven" instead of Republic of China.
Honestly "Druk Empire" does sound better imo. It's one of those examples of Paradox needlessly localizing a name that doesn't need to be localized.

Germany is called Germany in Paradox titles, not the Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Theres not a problem with the Heavenly Kingdom in my eyes seeing as how it was its actual name. Druk would be fine, but its nothing that'll stop me from playing the game, modifying the localization if it bothers someone enough is possible too.
The only thing to really be aware of when playing VII as far as the economy goes is that it's inevitable that late game the industry of anyone that doesn't have a massive population and massive industrial base will utterly crash because the entire world is producing probably twice the goods that the world actually consumes.
The economy and immigration of V2 really suck. Large countries have practically limitless money and that whole crashing thing you mentioned. The immigration is also really awful. Especially when China comes into play and of course, as with every Paradox game, China is poorly represented. I am of the opinion that the game is unplayable without mods. At a bare minimum have Pop Demand. [editline]13th December 2015[/editline] Ald: Just download the file from the thread on the Paradox forums and toss it into the mod folder for the game under documents.
The only thing I like about PDM is the increased number of goods seems to alleviate the overheated economy a bit. It's pop growth and education efficency bonuses get a bit silly though. If you like PDM though I'd give Divergences in Darkness a try. Vicky II needs more alt-history scenarios.
Another Screenshot [t]http://i.imgur.com/ANd5tEC.jpg[/t]
Where is the Democratic Party? I mean they were in power for the entirety of the game's timeframe.
Where is the Democratic Party? I mean they were in power for the entirety of the game's timeframe.
There's only 4 parties, "Neutral", "Communist", "Fascist" and "Democratic", as opposed to the variety posed by Darkest Hour or Hearts of Iron III
Where is the Democratic Party? I mean they were in power for the entirety of the game's timeframe.
Maybe the name changes based on who is in-charge? One of the Dev streams showed Roosevelt not being elected in and Alf Landan of the Republican party was president. The 4 Parties represent Policies/Factions More Parties can be modded in according to the Devs, so I can't see it being DLC unless it is part of the "free features" of the patch, or they decide before launch not to allow it.
Where is the Democratic Party? I mean they were in power for the entirety of the game's timeframe.
what you mean boy? democrats are communist!!!!!
Another Screenshot [t]http://i.imgur.com/ANd5tEC.jpg[/t]
For some reason I doubt that MacArthur would willingly serve a communist government and probably neither would Eisenhower.
Military leaders are probably not tied to Ideologies, which is disappointing. American Union also sounds more Fascist name then Communist TBH
Maybe the name changes based on who is in-charge? One of the Dev streams showed Roosevelt not being elected in and Alf Landan of the Republican party was president.
That also happens in HOI3. At least it happened to me before. Maybe because i was playing BICE i'm not sure but i had McArthur elected as President in one game.
Also another thing to note in that screenshot, is Standard Oil down under production. Wrong logo I think. The only Standard Oil I can find that used that logo ceased operations in 1911.
i had McArthur elected as President in one game.
god help us
What political Party would MacArthur be? Also how would he become president at the time? He was a General in the military. [editline]13th December 2015[/editline] According to default game files, MacArthur is market liberal
Commander in Chief/President and General don't have to be mutually exclusive right? I've never heard of not being able to become president because you're in the military.
Well I mean he would have been too busy fighting a war
British War Cabinet had military officials serving in it, but I see what you're saying.
Well the question is did he get elected during the war or before it. If it was before it you could just say he left the military to get into politics.
Where is the Democratic Party? I mean they were in power for the entirety of the game's timeframe.
You mean the communist party? G
You mean the communist party?
No they're right. The Democrats were in control of the US during the war
Hell, the Democrats had a majority in the Senate from 1932 until 1946.
I'm thinking the party name changed based on the country leader. Elections are probably done through events influenced by the popularity. The Piechart just shows the general opinion of the population towards communist, democratic fascist and neutral

I still don't see why the true party popularities would be behind a layer of UI but ok. Unless the democratic faction winning an election would give an event letting you choose which actual party gets into power which would be excellent.
https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/stellaris-dev-diary-13-primitive-civilizations.897491/ This is a really cool feature
This game sounds amazing. You can be the old school 1950s style aliens that abduct people and genetically modify them, can be Tau style trying to enlighten people with your ways, can even be fucking lizard men who infiltrate their planet and try to overthrow the government. This game, I need it. Also holy shit you can create sub species that do your biding.
https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/stellaris-dev-diary-13-primitive-civilizations.897491/ This is a really cool feature
The best feature is the genocide feature. FOR THE EMPEROR PURGE THE HERETICS AND XENOS!
The best feature is the genocide feature. FOR THE EMPEROR PURGE THE HERETICS AND XENOS!
Apparently you can fuck up in technology sometimes and unleash portals to demonic/horrifying realms that pour horrors into the universe, horrors that can fuck up vast empires and late game powers. There's also power armour and orbital bombardments.
I don't get it, in CKII, I occupied literally every part of Flanders when they tried declaring independence from me as Austria and yet they refuse total annexation back into the nation?
I don't get it, in CKII, I occupied literally every part of Flanders when they tried declaring independence from me as Austria and yet they refuse total annexation back into the nation?
Do they have any other holdings(you know a castle) in a province they don't own and/or allies?
