What are some interesting, not to difficult characters to start as in CK2?
Ireland, Spain, France
Ireland, Spain, France
Would you recommend the same for The Old Gods?
Ireland should always be a cakewalk, there might be some Norse there though with an event stack for King Aella but other than that its easy. Spain and Iberia will have abit more Muslim influence but it should still be manageable with An-Andalusia having collapsed and I don't really remember the time period France was in.
I've been playing sweden in Old Gods, it's easy land-grabbing but in the end my vassals create their own titles meaning I'll end up losing norway and finland etc everytime succession pass. Any decent tactic to combat this?
Vassals shouldn't pass out your realm from succession, it happens if your vassal obtains a rank equal to yours or if you're the lesser rank in a marriage and the heir takes the land, but that should only really happen in a maternal marriage. Are you gavel-kind succession?
Of course, I'm pagan. It's the only one available. Naturally, like anyone else I'm trying to reform paganism and then move to feudalism, but this takes a lot of time. I had a plan where I wouldn't create titles which in turn wouldn't give me trouble of having to pass on Jarldoms an entire kingdoms to multiple heirs, but in the end my fucking vassals created the titles themselves.
Easiest thing to do is probably just kill your sons or wives after they give birth, its risky however for obvious reasons. You can also just re-subjugate realms iirc, that'll give you a nice vassal bonus and prestige but it can hurt and stunt growth doing that all the time.
I dont have wives in norse, take a concubine and trash her after first born son
Interesting tactic, I should try it out.
Interesting tactic, I should try it out.
Make sure its a captured lady of royal blood. Getting those claims is quite nice. Also make spares.

Gavelkind is fucky and will auto-create titles for your brothers upon succession if there is one of equal strength to yours available.
Interesting tactic, I should try it out.
You can also use Way of Life seduction focus to bang all the women in the realm and then legitimize the best bastard.
Are they vassals or brothers? Hmm, maybe If I never create the kingdom of sweden?

You can avoid many problems by making sure that no vassal holds more than one county at the time. Kill vassals who get too much land to divide their titles and keep more power. You should also be able to comfortably hold 3 duchies without too much of an opinion hit, that should be enough to ensure that you hold more power. And keep to one son, and have the son a bit later in life and unmarried so he doesn't end up having multiple sons. It's one of the things about gravelkind, sometimes it gets problematic, but in the long term you can better manage the kingdom as you don't get vassals who accumulate too much power.
Way of Life is amazing in general, it actually adds on the RPG element of CK2 which no other DLC has done. (apart from conclave which isn't out yet.)
Neat. You'll be able to see dynasties and that'll allow you to prioritize [del]inbreeding[/del] Habsburg-style marriages and throne claims.
[t]http://i.chapelcomic.com/the_fall_of_capitalism.png[/t]
they actually fixed that in the new (beta) patch for Vic 2
they actually fixed that in the new (beta) patch for Vic 2
Old bugs are still funny.
my favorite bug was the one in CK2 where AI Greek rulers (or maybe it was just the Byzantine emperor?) would check every single person in their realm and see if they could castrate them It caused extreme slowdown.
My favorite bug in EU is France having an unexhaustible supply of Manpower, oh wait.

All males of the nobility presented themselves before the Emperor and faced judgement. The emperor, weilding his ceremonial sharpened spoon did as he pleased.
Another World War Wednesday. Now with actual war https://www.twitch.tv/paradoxinteractive/v/36560722 [editline]20th January 2016[/editline] The British-Franco Union is still possible in HOI4 [t]https://i.imgur.com/GhybJ8n.png[/t]
I remember when EU3 introduced the horde mechanics and Bohemia would just snake it's way through Russia, fun times.

$15!? Christ on his cross, that's a good $5 at most of content.

Holy shit, China actually putting up a fight against Japan? Holy shit. Maybe AI Soviets won't be total piss now.
$15!? Christ on his cross, that's a good $5 at most of content.
You've described probably half the dlc Paradox has released for CKII and EUIV.
