EU4 DD. Rome will rise again.
There's stuff ingame to model that though.
Also their "golden age" was over by the time of eu4
"-5% Technology modifier" on their 3rd idea, that doesn't really help me what so ever with the completely arbitrary 50% Muslim tech cost modifier. Whether or not their Golden Age was over is irrelevant anyway, it didn't just turn into a backwater shit hole, lots of the libraries and scholars persisted until the Reconquista reclaimed everything.
I understand the game being Eurocentric, but Granada is in Europe.

you have to remember that if you get rid of all your piety you get a big tech bonus too that negates a massive chunk of it
You get -10% tech cost modifier from max negative piety and some of those events totally fuck you over. Its just not a good nation design at all.
Probably not the answer you want, but you could check out MEIOU and Taxes. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=234109254
It improves the game in so many ways, but generally it makes the game more authentic, gives all nations more options and makes the game less western focused and generally makes the campaign more fleshed out and interesting. Muslim tech group only has 20% higher cost on technology, and the chinese and indian ones have 30%.
The map is also a lot nicer, with a lot more factions and proper historical names for countries (Korea wasn't named Korea until the 1880s for example), and adds a 1356 starting date which I find way more interesting. Only downside I find is the performance is worsened from all the extra provinces, nations and mechanics, but not really a big issue. What might get annoying though are the sheer number of event pop ups you get since a lot of the features and mechanics changes in the mod had to be tied to events for them to work properly, but you get used to that.
Naw, I tried that before, its lags like a motherfucker and is waaaay too complicated. I just play with Extended Vanilla Experience.
Well, you could edit the save file and make Granada western from the start.

Any idea how I can get that to fit on my 1280x720 screen?

One more thing i forgot to mention
the music they added with the mod is god awful imo, i had to just turn off the music and listen to something else :p

I've been thinking lately after properly getting into paradox games.
What I would want to see the most would be a new title in the Victoria/EU style set during the classical era. Think Greek city states, Persian Empires, Macedon, Carthage, Alexander the Great etc. etc. I'm almost getting wet just thinking of it. They could even go all out and make the map span all of Eurasia.
Question to anyone who has used MEIOU and Taxes in EU4,
For some reason I read 'Texas' instead of 'Taxes' and was really confused for a moment.
Best place i can think of to ask this :v
Anyone seen this? Gonna watch it, just wondering if it's actually good or not. I want it to be authentic
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2189461/
If you don't know much about marco polo, ill try and sum it up for you. In the late 1200s, Marco Polo from Venetia went to Asia as a merchant traveller, and suddenly happened up Kublai Khan. Kublai was one of the descendants of Ghengis, and ruled over the Yuan dynasty which covered all of china.
They became friends or something and traveled across china. When he went home to Venetia, they were at war with Genoa, because you know, thats just what they do. He gets jailed, has a book written about his travels and when he is released he becomes rich and lives happily ever after. History is rad yo

I haven't watched it but from what I've heard t's pretty terrible as far as authenticity/historicity goes. Also kinda diminishes the accomplishments of Kublai Khan, etc. by making Marco Polo the centre of everything.
Considering MEIOU was literally "bloat the mod" and death and taxes was babby mode in not sure I want to try a combination of the two

covers non-major focus trees, and a little bit of important news.

Haven't played Meiou in a while but from what i read, the AI got broken in the recent update and their whole new infrastructure and unrest system pretty much broke the game. Not sure if they fixed it and whatnot

Haven't had any issues myself. AI has been behaving like expected, and the infrastructure mechanics are perfectly fine in my game. Building roads mostly has an impact on autonomy, but also gives a slight reduction in unrest but nothing signficant. I'm guessing all those problems are fixed then
Mare Nostrum Stream. The release of if is in about 52 minutes

i keep losing to france as germany in hoi3 and i have no idea why. i can steamroll everyone, but the second i get into fighting with france (either through belgium or switzerland) its an absolute shite show.
[editline]6th April 2016[/editline]
also i managed to get persia, afghanistan, saudi arabia and siam into the axis to try and keep the uk busy and all they did was give the uk all the worlds oil through conquest
so for the leader portraits in HOI4 Paradox just cut and paste one of these images of Stalin for his portrait, like they didn't even try to make it look like they drew it themselves because the quality is so much different from the other ones.

Literally the same.

Only Hitler, and I think some military leader portraits?
No Swastikas, but that will be the easiest thing to mod it.
Yesterday's WWW stream they forgot to disable the DLC and had to restart the game.
Hirohito looks like a Chipmunk
Looks like Hirohito's portrait was based off this image. If there is a full version of this portrait, I can't find it on google. The PDOX artists must have based his medals on other pictures.

And to be fair, Chamberlain looks dead in most of the images I see on google :v:
All the Portraits are based off existing images I believe.

All of those minor nations don't stand a chance against the UK, which does maintain a large number of troops overseas (the AI gets infinite transport ship range because they're stupid, so they can send new divisions very easily).
Also, if you're straight up trying to attack France from the German border, then stop. If you remember, there are a shit load of level 10 landforts on the border. Combat against divisions in those tiles receives a -10% to -90% overall combat modifier for the attacker. Flank the shit out of France, you might as well invade Belgium anyways.
If you have already done that and France is still beating you... Spread your guys out, do defense in depth and try to avoid stacking up too many divisions in one province. France still being ridiculous? IDK, start over.

yes i know thats what they based it off of but it looks like garbage. they could have picked any other picture.
or better yet, just used pictures instead of doing all these portraits in 50 different styles (and there's no way in hell they didn't just cut the stalin one and not even bother tracing it themselves).

How many units are you piling into one province? Stacking penalties will fuck you up.
