so i conquered france thanks to a rare moment of clarity in the italian officers corps. and when i conquered poland, i gave russia the eastern half but for some reason they didnt do anything else, so i annexed the rest of the baltics myself and never got anything from the finns. republican spain decided not to suck dick in my first ever axis game and so they somehow won the civil war, so i invaded and puppeted them for the reich in a rather prolonged (high national unity and african colonies) but inevitable war. it only got difficult when japan, who had decided to never do fuck all in china and sat in shanxi trading shots with the chinese, decided they were powerful enough to bomb pearl harbor and dragged america, who i had been influencing, into the war. the yankees decided to send expeditionary corps and they took my overstretched men in spain by surprise, still one tho. portugal kept refusing to join the axis even though they were at the bottom right of the god damned corner and were scared shitless of the uk, so i invaded them too, but their african colonies meant i h ad to lierally occupy all of portugal and then still couldnt make them surrender. i also conquered gibraltar. but while i was on my iberian adventure, america won in north africa and that somehow means that vichy france could surrender. despite owning half of spain and being completely untouched, vichy france was conquered by the usa and suddenly i had a dozen marine divisions in my backyard. i was still sending men to portugal, so pulled men off the eastern front to fight in france. i had already won in yugoslavia and greece, and was preparing to attack turkey since they didnt want to join either. but this was more important. and then the soviets fucking attacked, swept through me after a few weeks of exchange on the front and conquered me, and then they kept going and conquered italy, and all of the balkans, and then split france and spain like we did germany irl. netherlands, luxembourg, belgium and france are the last surviving western european countries and theyre all communist dictatorships. retarded ass japan lost korea to russia and then the uk said fuck it and annexed the home islands. so now i have the last six surviving battleships of the german navy raiding american convoys, based out of axis brazil, and ive been building a resistance in soviet germany that is spreading like a cancer and is literally every province in germany and yugoslavia. the soviets and the uk went to war, so the soviets have conquered literally all the middle east, ethiopia, turkey, allied europe and are now pressing into india. theyve stalled in greece, and the americans tried to land in turkey and failed. free vichy france has also survived for six months on the border between france and italy with a few divisions of veteran americans desperately holding off soviets from both sides on a thin line of fortifications.

Honestly it almost sounds like you don't have enough units. Encirclement are your best friend, used massed armor to punch through a line, preferably in two places at least, and then spill units, preferably fast ones, into the gap and encircle. Or you can just cheese airborne units and go straight for all of their VP points.

i was thinking that too but between having to build shit tons of interceptors to keep the raf out (unity was at 20% first game due to strategic bombing), submarines to destroy convoys and industrial capacity, i hardly have enough time to build ground units. also can someone walk me through how to build hqs because i understand their function but i never have enough and cant find out how to create more.

Hearts of Iron III, when fighting in Europe is 90% Pockets, 10% everything else. Nothing's better than pocketing a good third of the Soviet army and just toddling into Moscow

There is a console command in EU4 called 'touch_test' it is exactly what it sounds like, a touchscreen test. no UI changes just how you control. Soldiers are moved by tapping the provinces, you unselect them by tapping them.

The root out corruption for money thing is fucked. The SLIGHTEST increment in that is like 50 ducats, and max it's like over a thousand.
