No, unit counters on the screen represents just the number of troops. Those are just 7 million.
"Just"
"Just"
IIRC rebels will never have anything other than infantry unless it's a military unit that rebels so you can fuck up much greater numbers just because you have cannons and they don't. Especially in a case where you are defending and have fortifications, though admittedly that doesn't apply in this case.

"Establish Visigoths in the Spice Islands - Kalapa"
yeah, good luck with that.
Hey, at least they can build navies
I started a Kongo game in 1399 and the mod doesn't allow primitives to have navies until either they reform or westernize, so I can't become a monster trade power in Ivory Coast despite already having ~25% the power there
Also Africa is hilariously easy to conquer as anybody since you can full annex sub-saharans with 50% warscore and the most expensive their provinces get to core is like 50 adm
How the fuck do you form trade leagues. Do you need mare nostrum?
Yeah, you need Mare Nostrum. It's a diplomatic action like forming an alliance, though members only join defensive wars.

Oh hey, they added Mengkukuo
What's a better DLC, Cossacks or Mare Nostrum
Stellaris pre-orders are available.

Its also on steam and other sites.
Greenman Gaming is charging more then Steam and the Paradox site :s
40 Dollars for the base game, thats pretty good.
50 Dollars if I want the ~cosmetic alien race~ and soundtrack, that's also not too bad.

It's 60₺ on steam which is about 25 dollars. Not too shabby but knowing that its a paradox game it'll be buggy as hell at launch so I'll just wait for a sale.
Hopefully they'll put out a demo before release.

Johan posted how name scripts work in Stellaris if you want to start on your mods early.
[editline]15th April 2016[/editline]
I just pre-ordered the base Stellaris, the bonuses in the other editions didn't interest me.
[editline]15th April 2016[/editline]
If you want Paradox to get more money, order it off their website instead of Steam. It is still a steam key.

HOI4 DD on modding
There are in-game mod tools :o
Another thing we have put a lot of effort into is reloadability. You can reload interfaces (even automatically as the game will check if files are modified and you will see changes instantly ingame) as well as several game systems. For example focus trees will reload with your changes making it really quick and easy to work with making them and not forcing you to restart the game all the time.
YES
Tbh the biggest part is just that you can change how the AI works, it will make alt-history scenarios that work properly without having to railroad with events
that already happens in the base game has shown by the Streams.
I.E. If you're playing as a fascist country and start annexing democratic countries it will upset other democracy countries and they will start protecting those around you.
[editline]15th April 2016[/editline]
Its handled by the World Tension %
Base game is not going to simulate Kaiserreich scenarios I assure you, I meant that in terms of AI deciding what to produce, IC production, laws and other policies. The AI are handicapped on what they do anyway, in HoI3 the French AI refuses to leave the Maginot line even when it has numerical superiority.
Just preordered Stellaris. Very stoked. Hope not to be disappointed!
I would like to bet they reached out to the KR team lead devs, proposed some kind of deal and are planning on giving them some help/space
Because man
If a KR mod for HOI IV is announced
I'm insta buying that thing and all the DLCs
I must not be the only one wishing for a updated KR.
I'd wait until the mod was actually released to buy the game if that is all you would want HOi4 for.
iirc they gave the game devs some early mod tools to get kr off the ground
i know for sure the kr guys already said theyre doing it for hoi4
Considering the development process for KR I wouldn't be expecting anything soon. It seems like it's half organized development and half random contributions from forum members.
Lots of things, even some stuff that doesn't even use it in the base game, supports country prefixes. like GER_IMAGE_NAME will only show that image if you're playing as Germany. That is how the tech tree works, but it works with any country.
Strings work the same as well, though I think its like that for other games already, an example below from the forums
* The construction system do not use it as it is but it has support for it at least when it comes to naming, you could easily rename the generic "Trade Goods" for GER (and germany only) to "Sauerkraut" just by adding something like 'GER_TRADE_GOODS: "Sauerkraut"' (where default 'TRADE_GOODS: "Trade Goods"') in the localization files.
etc...
Here is the DD thread again with out Dev posts shown... I could be wrong but I think 'Dev Posts Only' only works when logged in

Interesting, this opens up a lot of possibilities. I wonder if terrains/maps will still have to be done the old fashioned way however. I also hope folder structuring is cleaned up a little too, as well as localization files.
To avoid criticism, Paradox announced earlier that counters will be an option for Hearts of Iron IV. But if you zoom in for precise movements, they turn back into models.

I'm waiting for our "It's Actually Just NATO Counters Now" DLC for $45.99

HOI4 has always worked like that. Counters were in some of the earliest screenshots.

Yeah the thing is they keep getting small events and history data contributions from members from all over the world.
Then if I'm not mistaken, a couple of guys shape up the events and add them to the mod, apart from developing other events and chains themselves.
After release, it's very likely -I think- that many people will give them a hand.
Yes, I'm kinda tired of standard WW2 storylines. KR provides enough Mayhem and ahistorical fuck ups, that is fun enough just to grab Tibet and let it play for itself to see how many combinations can happen.
National Focus Trees in a HOI4 KR mod would be huge.

Are you serious??? What the fuck... Is it really that hard to make a fucking 2D overlapping sprite???
Why do they want to alienate users who like counters, its so much fucking easier to make them than models lmao. (oh are they gonna peddle models packs??)
Why are you acting surprised.
Why are you acting surprised.
Because counters worked fine for all previous iterations of Hearts of Iron and it's wasted effort to put in these poorly detailed, distracting, ugly sprites that represent about as much of an army's composition as a picture of a hamburger.
