I'm only playing this for the amazing artstyle.
Coincidentally, it's also why I played Bloodborne since I wasn't able to get into Dark Souls but I ended up loving it anyway.

somehow the most disturbing part of this image to me is that tiny little tube going into the player character's hand and then back out again
I think for me it's the stock of the gun. That face is having something fleshy jammed down its gob, and it's VERY Gigeresque.
I hope there's things with eyes.
Imagine a switch which is just an eye in the wall.
To operate the switch, you stick your thumb inside the socket and push the eyeball around.

I'm grossed out by this and yet i hope something likes this happens.
Basically, i want this to be my reaction to most of the game:

I scream, you scream, we all scream for eye scream. And considering what this game is going for, it's probably not going to be soft-serve.

o they put the campaign up already on a second account. ok sure why not

this time lets not let this funding attempt totally fall flat
Oh that reload animation is gnarly.
Perfect blend of Barlowe and Giger.
Somewhere in heaven, HR Giger is really proud.

Nah, Giger is too cool to be in heaven, he's most probably waltzing through corridors like we've seen in the trailer and smiling.

He probably designed some parts of Hell because Satan was impressed with his work.
I really hope this ends up getting funded, but it's pretty hard to be all that hopeful when you consider they're asking for $30k more than what Agony, a really similar game, ended up making in total from it's entire kickstarter. Agony had a more understandable goal to the gameplay (escape hell) and took place in a probably more understandable setting as well than wherever this is at. idk it's hard to imagine this really doing that much better than Agony did but I really hope I'm wrong, because fucking hell this game deserves better than two failed kickstarter attempts.
It helps that they have an actual gameplay trailer this time around.
I think what strikes me best about this game isn't the fear of attack of creatures but just the general "I really don't want to be here-ness" of the whole situation/
-"I don't wanna step in that gunk."
-"I don't wanna have to use this fleshy thing as a weapon."
-"I don't wanna touch THAT!"
-"I don't wanna stick my hand in there..."

Also on the subject of the sound design, at the risk of possibly spoiling the magic but
[sp]I once saw a video of a guy doing sound design, for squelchy fleshy noises all they did was cover their hands in thick washing up liquid and wring them together. Any time I heard a squelchy noise in the trailer I could not help but think of some guy stating over a bowl, with soapy hands and a microphone.[/sp]
oh god balloon face huggers, also wormy face huggers
everything is a face hugger
That glove-thing that the character sticks his hand into so his key works is fucking horrifying.
hr giger power glove
The way this game looks invokes this feeling of discovering something new and weird as a child and being absolutely fascinated by it. I still remember when games weren't afraid to try something weird and out of this world. First time ever playing a game like Fallout, Sacrifice or even seeing Zerg for the first time in Starcraft. This game is kinda like what I imagined games will be like in the future, much more sophisticated and experimental in presentation.
Just put down 45 Euros for Tier 3. I want to see this baby succeed.
organic powerglove, me likey
everything is so abstract yet the weapons sound just like regular firearms?
My only problem is that the demo is available only to backers. I understand that makes backing it a huge incentive, but some people like to play a game before deciding whether or not to purchase it. I think Fight Knight was successful because everyone could try it out. They really should do the same with Scorn.
The art style reminded me of Zdzisław Beksiński

Eastern European developers, so it seems the inspiration comes from Beksinski.
Well, looks like the funding is going pretty well, they're a third of the way there in only 1 day. Hope this keeps up and more news outlets feature Scorn.
Backed €35, seems like it's easily worth that much so far.
