Battleborn - a MOBA from the creators of Borderlands

780, so not much better anyway. It's about time, regardless.
Also, anyone else think the game needs more good healing style characters besides Miko? Reyna needs a talent to heal and Kleese the same, but you need to hug him.

Nah. Miko is too similar to TF2 Medic and this is not a good thing. Makes him being forced to play a pocket healbot.
I like the way Reyna and Ambra provide heals - fast and ranged heal burst but on a noticeable cd.
Battleborn is good because the heroes are not just a reskinned copy of cliche classes.

Oh and btw r9 390 here with stable 60fps but Echelon map. This shit is unplayable cause every time i look at the direction of enemy base the performance drops to ~32fps.
I barely pass the minimum requirements with my 560 Ti and I can play the Paradise map (which is pretty much the default go-to map imo) at 50-60fps if I set everything at Low and 900p. Other maps are a bit worse and single player is below 30fps.
On one hand it's fine for me because I can still play and I'll upgrade to a 1080 or 1070 when it launches, but on the other hand I could play Overwatch at over 90fps on high settings...
Really enjoying it, but the game has shit performance. I have everything set to low, 1080p, fxaa on, its playable but the fps is still really ropy :(
Yeah, the game has some serious performance issues. I'm playing it on highest settings without any significant lag, but the game still crashes every now and then.

What card? and do you still get fps drops?

The 'looking in a certain direction' is what the problem is for me in single player, some maps run flawless until I look in a certain direction and I can feel the fps tank to like 25-30. It makes it hard to aim in combat.
I always wonder why people always vote for overgrowth, I actually prefer echelon tbh
Why is hawkeye so much fucking fun?
I did it, I finally have Ghalt and with him all characters are unlocked.

GTX 970. I have the latest drivers. I occasionally get FPS drops, but for the most part no. Usually its just straight up crashes, either in-game or on the game menu of all things.

My partner has a 970, He hasnt had any crashes but does get frame drops on Coldsnap and The Saboteur. As for my 670, both of these maps demolish my frame-rate.
my frames on battleborn stay well above the 120 mark with my 980ti
If anyone here wants to watch a fairly good Battleborn streamer, this guy is pretty cool.
I met him playing a pub once and it was a damn good game.

He did viewer lobbies the other day and we played an all El Dragon match and it was disgustingly hilarious.
What's a good character for solo'ing Advanced for Silver ratings? I really wanna unlock Ghalt.
Solo silver ratings on all missions? That is hard as hell. You poor soul.

Whoever you want, really. Someone with good survivability and pretty awesome damage. I went with Toby mostly for that, since he has the shield and does BOGOBONKERS damage with his Railgun. Defense ones might really suck, I never did those solo, except Saboteur. Definitely try to get a really good ranged shooter. I picked Marquis and it was easy enough. I don't fully suggest melee since you might get ate. And definitely NOT on Heliophage. Otherwise, it's doable.

I solo'd Heliophage with Gal on Advanced. With proper equips, she's a decent damage sponge. Heliophage on advanced is a fucking circus, though, I won't pretend it wasn't really hard. Personally, I'd stick with Marquis on anything but defense missions, Mike for defense because of his air strike. Honestly, I can't really think of any agile, tough, and damage-dealy char that doesn't lack in one area or the other, aside from Gal. I've solo'd all but Sentinel and Void's Edge so far.
Anyway, just finished story. Kinda...feel deflated after that ending. Hope there's more in the future. Right now the competitive scene is annoying due to matchmaking being bologna and the whole "role" system being a large amount of fluff that, unless you're melee, don't mean diddly spit (in my opinion). So it's story mission grind or whatever until then!
Also, what rating is beyond gold, if it exists? Plat/diamond or whatever? And how can you tell the difference?
Having a support on your team means quite a lot from my experience. Otherwise, roles don't mean much, however general team mobility and how much CC your team has is important.
A team with a support, lots of CC, and that is extremely mobile is impossible to beat if they're coordinated.
[editline]18th May 2016[/editline]
Mobility can be replaced with reach too in a way, such as with Ghalt. He's not very mobile, but he offers map control and his hook can make it impossible for you to run away from engagements.
While 'role' doesn't mean much, general team composition does (although I do have to say that the single most impactful thing is having a support like Miko or Reyna on the team).
Yeah, it mostly boils down to carrying your own weight and having a good support backing you up.
We once had a 2 1/2 (person kept d/c'ing and rejoining) v 4 and we were obliterating them kill wise, but had no pushing power, since if even one of us got low, we'd lose the lane.
In a more typical case, we had a really close game on Meltdown, but ended up losing because our Orendi was really bad. Like 1/16 K:D bad. We really needed her good AOE clears, but she kept getting out of position and dying to Galilea.
Orendi is a good example. She's a "skirmisher". What the hell does that mean anyway? She's pretty kickass at clearing small mobs of minor enemies, but she's horridly squishy. I just use her for destroying large amounts of minions on Meltdown. Any other gamemode she's impressively easy to kill. I don't know, that's been my experience playing with/against her. Also Miko is incredibly annoying to kill. It's almost a goal of mine to kill one when I can because holy shit they turn tides.
Yo, news drop! Double XP event from Friday, May 20th to Wednesday, May 25th with Alani being released the 24th of May for Deluxe holders or Season Passers (31st is her official release for the normies). Downside, she's 47,500 in-game credits to buy without a pass. Happy grinding!

Can't wait for double xp. At least now we have an ETA for the patch as well, hopefully it has optimization.
47k for a "free" Dlc character? In a full priced game??
They should've just released the game as F2P if they're going this route, god damn.

It is free. You literally don't have to pay any real money to be able to play as them if you don't want. And if this were F2P, I highly doubt it'd be as good as it is now, quality wise. If it kept the same quality, however, matchmaking would still suffer greatly considering making a game free opens Pandora's Box in terms of playerbase quality (and we already have some problems with matchmaking as is lol)
But I do agree that 47,500 credits is a little crazy. Maybe half of that would be more reasonable.
Why 47,500? Why half of that?
Why even put new characters behind a grind wall? What is the reasoning? To artificially lengthen the unlocks?
It makes no sense to me. The game's business model combines 2 models in a really unappealing way.
I have 25 hours in game I only have 30k . The price seems really high
~47k for a supposed free DLC character is nuts no matter how you cut it. It's an obvious shove for people to get the season pass, but jesus. Like, why not put it behind a challenge wall, like a bunch of the other characters? No rank unlock, just challenge. It doesn't have to be "kill X guy with Y while doing a flip" or some shit. I don't know, that just seems egregious
They already made it unlock a week earlier for Deluxe/Season Pass owners so why put in another week of grinding currency for others?
Honestly that amount of credits is unreal. Its basically F2P model levels of absurd, why the fuck did they ever think this was a good idea? I pay $60 for a game and I have to grind like a motherfucker or pay an extra gob of money in order to unlock a character?
I've hated Gearbox before, but this takes it up another notch.
[editline]20th May 2016[/editline]
It is almost like they want community backlash and their game to basically die before Overwatch is even released. What the fuck is this?
Anyone around up for some games? Double exp is to be enjoyed
If anyone wants to play add me on Steam!
