its too bad though that it's writing only comes out once in a blue moon, regardless of what Valve or others say.

I wasn't expecting much out of Blizzard's writers, but I was kinda holding out hope that they'd really give it their all with a brand new IP.
So much for that v:v:v
I don't mean to bring up this issue again, but if Blizzard were willing to listen to one guy about the Tracer butt pose, you'd think it'd be possible to do the same with the quality of the writing? I mean, it's not too much to ask them to put a little more effort into the narrative of the media surrounding the game.

No, it's easy to remove a pose from the game, it also costs no money. Hiring a new writer costs money, and improvements require actual work.

It really shouldn't be much to get at the very least a decent writer, at least for someone who can afford artists/animators for the high quality visuals.
What if they reveal a new hero before the open beta?
I'd love to see them bring another one out. Bound to be a new Tank or Support, if the pattern holds.
Hoping for a support.
I guess I'm the only one who thought the Tracer short was okay.

Move Symetra to defense, add real support.

It still confuses the crap out of me why didn't do this to begin with.
I have no clue what you guys are smoking, the shorts and that comic were pretty damn good
Like yeah they could be a bit more fleshed out but I think schlock is going far

It's a bit of a late reply but didn't TF2 have no story at all when it came out? It was just a bunch of people fighting for no apparent (at the time) reason. I feel like Overwatch could still deserve a chance to really refine some of the writing since it isnt even out yet

It's not that they're bad or anything, but they're really run-of-the-mill. They don't really add anything to the world or the characters, merely reinforce some aspects or are just meant to be kinda enjoyable to go through. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but it is kinda lame.

They're not bad, but there isn't really anything to them. The comic is literally just "cowboy man does the thing and saves the day". Why is he on that train? What is the purple MacGuffin? Who is that guy who recognized him? Nothing is developed, other than that Mr. Shootsman can shoot the mans.
At first I thought it was cool they decided to do the campy comicbook hero thing, I thought they were going to deconstruct the whole thing and make fun of it, like Valve did with cliché 60s spy movies.
But Overwatch actually goes and does it straight, while being fully serious about itself. Are you kiddin me, in this day and age?
Maybe they should just hire STAR_ to write their stuff, he delivers in buckets.

It's a shame too. Reaper seemed to ooze self awareness, but most other characters just seem to pick a cliche and stick to it.
Symmetra needs to be punched in the face, her lines to other characters just play her as a piece of shit
I think a support that deals with invisibility, fully invis standing still or fully invis teammates during an ult would be pretty cool.
Something similar to that.
Crackpot theory that's probably already been thrown around a bunch, but I think Reaper is some sort of Revenant. It'd perfectly explain his obsession with killing ex-overwatch members and all his spooky supernatural abilities. Someone probably got him killed during an Overwatch outing and he wanted revenge bad enough to become a spooky zombieghost.

I don't think Overwatch is the kind of game where you want invisible dudes running around.
At least I know I don't.
Honestly most games do invisibility in a really silly way. HotS, for example, it's really a crock of shit if you're playing against attentive players. It's designed to punish people who aren't paying enough attention and that's really a kind of shitty gimmick in my opinion.

Taxi-Lamborgini is normal for Uber? I mean, it's a fucking taxi, not some luxuary limo ride.
In where i live you'd be lucky to get something that was made in this decade, but Lambo? I only saw them on the Internet!
Btw, does Uber charge extra money for getting cars like these?
I have no idea why everyone online thinks Overwatch is a MOBA, is it because there are like five other two-word titled shooters that actually have elements of them and for some reason OW gets lumped in?
My favorite description of Overwatch was some dude commenting on "Tracer joins Heroes of the Storm" video: "I heard something about the overwatch buttgate, didn't know it's about this diablo clone". I get the Overwatch=HotS mix-up, but if you visit gaming threads and don't know MOBAs you might as well call every gaming platform Nintendos.
Where's the Roadhog food delivery truck?
It's part of a promotion for Overwatch in PAX East.
Blizzard (or Activision) partnered with Uber to advertise the game during PAX East within the general vicinity of the convention, which is why the Instagram girl streamer and the twitter game journalist guy both broke the news about this.
The publisher (obviously) got unorthodox cars to help bring some color to the promotion. You're not going to see an Overwatch ad on a fucking Honda Civic.
Well, i get that painting isn't a part of standart, but did Blizzard also provided cars?

They've specifically stated there will be no stealth heroes ever.

They probably rented them or paid a local owner to use them.
Invisibility characters are extremely hard to balance. TF2 pulled it off exceptionally well with the Spy, but it can easily be done sloppily and badly, like Phantom from Dirty Bomb.
An invisibility character would not really fit this game's pacing, and probably be a nightmare to balance. I'm kinda glad they've decided they're not even going to bother.
The only stealth hero I can imagine is just 76 with camo uniform.

I'd be okay with it if it was more of a cloaking ability that you could use for like 3-5 seconds and not attack during this time. Could be good for getting away or behind territory.

Tracer's blink and Reaper's shadowstep do that better than just going invisible would. They both fill that role without having to go through the trouble of adding an invisible character.
