Tracer's blink and Reaper's shadowstep do that better than just going invisible would. They both fill that role without having to go through the trouble of adding an invisible character.
You got a point. I can't argue with that.
I just got an email saying that the entire closed beta will be ending on the 25th, so that they can start making final preparations for release + the open beta.

Some people are discussing about a leaked support hero (athena), shown in this video. source I'd love to play athena as a support hero
There's also speculation about a hero called "Sombra", presumed to be a sniper of sorts working for Blackwatch.
Uh are we sure thats not just a Widowmaker skin and thats from a version when Widowmaker was classified as a support? Because that pose, the blue face and that sniper look exactly like her

That's one way to stop a payload.
Athena is the Overwatch AI. Don't think she'll be made a hero anytime soon.
Athena is the Overwatch AI. Don't think she'll be made a hero anytime soon.
I wouldn't count it out entirely. This robot that we saw in the original lineup has Athena's symbol on it.
so just to clarify; if i have not pre-ordered the game can i still access the open beta that starts on may 5th? even if i was not accepted into the closed beta? [editline]p[/editline] excellent, super hyped
Another one of those Gamespot videos is up
Another one of those Gamespot videos is up
[t]http://puu.sh/otb7w/02b82042da.jpg[/t] dammit did they really have to use THAT skin for Zarya when talking about her and what makes her character special
Why's it matter?
Why's it matter?
They're talking about the character designs, it doesn't make sense to talk about one thing they worked so hard to create, and then portray another on the screen, it's like if they showed the Ra skin for Zenyatta when they were talking about his whole deal. It has little to nothing to do with the original character they had in mind when creating them
Punk Zarya looks like an OC character I would find in the dark side of DeviantArt.
That's the light side of DA these days. Don't ask.
Punk Zarya looks like an OC character I would find in the dark side of DeviantArt.
Funnily enough that's my thoughts on regular Zarya
I don't really see what's wrong with the McCree comic and the shorts. -McCree comic, while not exposition-heavy, does a pretty good job in re-creating a wild west comic vibe and shows off the character well. It also sticks pretty close to McCree's bio. I found it a pretty fun read, which showed the character off well. -Recall short was great. Nice animation, showed current state of Overwatch/heroes, showed backstory for Winston etc. -Alive short also had good animation and was a fun watch. Only thing that bothered me and was nonsensical was that [sp]the bodyguards don't deploy a shield right after hearing robot-gandhi was in major danger or rushed straight up into the car. Why the heck did they walk so slowly, knowing he was possibly targeted by an assassin?[/sp]. I agree that the comics/shorts don't give a lot of exposition about the world/lore, but I think they do a good job in being fun to read/watch and showing the characters off.
Industrial Zarya looks really bad, but default Zarya looks great IMO.
Another one of those Gamespot videos is up
I'm disappointed they didn't talk about more heroes instead of pose drama
What would be great as a Zarya skin would be a welding helmet and gear.
I'm disappointed they didn't talk about more heroes instead of pose drama
I let out an audible groan when he started talking about that.

IMO, what makes something enjoyable to watch/read are the characters when they are well-written. Fail at that and I'm just looking at pretty pictures because I couldn't care less about the story or the action if I don't care about the characters.
My only problem with the McCree comic is [sp]him 'comically' and casually punting the artifact off the train to lose them[/sp]
My only problem with the McCree comic is [sp]him 'comically' and casually punting the artifact off the train to lose them[/sp]
I think that's part of his character. Hes saved the day, the civilians are safe, who cares if the bad guys get the thing they were after?

If they're looking for some world building, showing off characters like whats in TF2 media, then yeah, the stuff is pretty mundane. If you're just looking for a nice look into the game with some shell of story layered over it, then the videos and comics are nice. The problem though, is that they are trying to set up a world with the videos but it is just not cutting it for good worldbuilding.
Can this game come out already? There is so much stuff out already and the game hasn't even been released. Can't imagine the post-release content and fan-stuff
Watching the 3 part documentary made me feel nostalgic about the game and I haven't even played it yet.
