I love Dva but I'm so bad at her [editline]3rd May 2016[/editline]
I'd kill to have anything but the default skin even if it's just temporary, since every other D.Va is the same pink mass bouncing around. I've unlocked skins and poses and sprays for half the roster but she remains blank. also I want the spray for that achievement where you tank 1500 damage with one use of the shield. How hard is that to get? I assume I need like half the opposing team to be on my face
I think I got it accidentally in my first match, so not that hard interrupting a pharah ult is the easiest way
Now that more of you have had time with the game, I hope you've learned how great D.Va's voice is.
Kinda miffed that they didn't bother to have any of McCree's alts have a different pistol
this game is amazing, but i wish there were damage numbers to see how much damage you're doing.
I love this game. I get pretty heated even during quickplay with friends, but the quick action moments of taking a point or pushing the cart is what really got me excited. Some things to note: 1) There's really no "OP" heroes, because there's a lot of counters to each of them. Literally git gud. (McCree counters Tracer, Widowmaker. Genji counters Bastion. D.Va counters Widowmaker, Hanzo. Widowmaker counters Roadhog, Reindhart etc, etc. The list continues.) 2) Headshots actually do something in this game, for the love of god, aim for the head (McCree's revolver does wonders against Tracers, Roadhog's hook and leftclick to the face is a guaranteed kill for any non-tank (minus Reaper), and Hanzo's arrows are Bastion's worst nightmare, even in turret mode). 3) Bastion is truly useless in high-level play. He is extremely mediocre if you don't know how to really use him. 4) D.Va is a disruptor, not a defensive or offensive tank. You're meant to use your thrusters and shield to get in behind the enemy and kill those annoying snipers with your close-range guns then get out. She is used to completely foil the enemy team's plans when your team meets up with them. She isn't meant to be getting kills or tanking for everyone, since her hitbox is massive. Out of the mech. suit, running away is the name of the game. Her ult is purely situational. 5) They did supports right for this game, it's so much fun playing support for a vast majority of people. I just wish more people chose it. In most of my games with friends, there was always one guy who played support and it sucked because I knew he wanted to try the other classes. PLEASE TRY SUPPORT! Especially if you feel like you aren't contributing to the team. 6) The greatest thing about this game besides its optimization, is the fact that you can enter this game expecting to main certain heroes, but after some play time, you start enjoying a helluva' different cast altogether. I encourage everyone to read this guide on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/4hjzw2/full_guide_to_all_21_heroes_in_overwatch_part_12/ It doesn't tell you how to play your hero, but it tells you the tips you should know about them and give you an idea about their playstyle.
Every play of the game is Reaper or Bastion. It's hilariously predictable.
Now that more of you have had time with the game, I hope you've learned how great D.Va's voice is.
Second most annoyingly terrible character besides Tracer. I could prattle on about how much I find tracers voice grating but I think it goes without saying. D.Va, despite having a fun as fuck fuckoff great big robot is literally just bait for weeaboos. High pitched anime voice teen/pre-teen gamergirl who's cocky and argumentative. It's half the reason I like bastion, none of his character tires too hard. Just Beep-Boop off you go. [editline]3rd May 2016[/editline]
Every play of the game is Reaper or Bastion. Lucio is so fuckin fun and good, holy shit.
after playing her all night, I think 'disruptor' is a great way to describe d.va, and the special is a hell of a lot less situational than some others I tried out. There's always an opportunity to clear a room or turn a doorway into a temporary wall nobody wants to walk through. It's incredibly influential on payload, both for scattering/killing a mob at the cart so they can't progress, or chucking it at the chokepoint so you can keep pushing forward beyond that, I love using the boost to knock people around. Super satisfying punting the big dude with the shield to the back of an area, leaving the blob of teammates who were using him for cover out in the open and really confused there's some crazy counters to her though, I noticed a good zenyatta can practically one shot the meka if they get a discord orb on you and unload their charged 5-shot, which might actually be worse in d.va's case since it looks like they auto-aim toward center of mass (which happens to be meka's cockpit), granting headshot damage @thisguy123 her voice is on and off OK. The character WAS billed as some korean starcraft pro idol, the over the top showy gamer aesthetic is a bit of a diversion from all the war hardened professionals on the field, and a pretty funny premise for a huge robotank character. There's at least a COUPLE voice lines that are OK and I'd probably switch out for (like, the one where she actually speaks korean), but personally what I'd like changed most is adding more voice lines to the special (if only clientside, so others can still easily recognize the tell). Sick of "NERF THIS!"
Now that more of you have had time with the game, I hope you've learned how great D.Va's voice is.
나는 승리를 재생!
Damn I wish I could play this now
is this ez mode?
I just had a team of always 2-5 Road Hogs spamming hog-puns the entire match. [sp]we won[/sp] [sp]When someone finished post-patch by saying Hogakke I had to run to the restroom before I pissed myself laughing after that showing.[/sp]
I hope people learn that you have to switch heros a lot. Instead of complaining about X hero switch to their counter and take care of them yourself.
"play of the game" almost always goes to junkrat.
also in agreeance with the post near the top I don't think any heroes are op, but there are certainly some that are just less fun to play against
also in agreeance with the post near the top I don't think any heroes are op, but there are certainly some that are just less fun to play against
5 pharah.
5 pharah.
First day of open beta I was playing Genji and the team went from 0 pharah to 3 pharahs because I kept reflecting their bastion/mcree shots :v:
D.Va is hilariously fun, flying into those pesky snipers and bopping them with a melee never gets old. Plus outside of the mech she's pretty good too, the slow projectile speed on her pistol lets you fill lanes with projectiles, then you just wait for someone to run into them (they always do).
People can tell me Bastion has counters all they want, but I'm here to have fun, not play high-end gritty tourney gameplay. And it's not fun to accidentally turn a corner into a player liquifier that has zero tells. Sure, I can respawn and counter that as half the classes in the game - but it's the only non-ultimate thing that seems to kill so abruptly. Something as simple as a noisy-tell would be all I really need to know one's beep-booping around the corner and ready to fuck my face in.
Have the tickrate problems / complaints about hitscan heroes been addressed?
Bastion and Junkrat simply aren't fun to fight. It all feels really balanced, but they're definitely the least-balanced things in the game.
I hope they add in a viewmodel fov slider, because despite playing at 103 fov, the guns are still huge and in your face, and it's kinda disorientating
I'm actually really surprised the FOV is at 103 by default, so used to these games starting at like 75-85 remember xbox 360 games being 65 FOV on 4:3 tvs? perfect dark zero was nigh unplayable due to how cramped it felt and how cluttered the screen was half the time. weird looking back on some of that stuff
Every play of the game is Reaper or Bastion. It's hilariously predictable.
Best one I saw was a Genji. Fucker managed to kill three people in a row with the sword/katana thingy and even managed to finish off one more person with the triple shuriken throw.

DeviantArt is having a "21 Days of Overwatch" thing to celebrate the game's release featuring various artists drawing their favorite members of the cast. Naturally, they show one hero each day until they're all finished. First two are Mercy and Genji.
