For all the reasons to dislike a game yours are some of the worst I've seen in a while.
And then about Overwatch, how long do you think it'll take for Blizzard to start adding additional content after launch? Considering they're already probably working on such content, is less than a month a tad too optimistic?
yes lmao.
skins dont count
It's going to be hard to wait another couple weeks after the beta ends to play again.
imo Battleborn would have done much better sales-wise if it released before Overwatch. People would at least have something to play before Overwatch itself and maybe it would grab enouhg attention and people would actually play it a lot, until Overwatch comes out obviously. After that, I'm afraid Blizzard has won everyone's attention with Overwatch at this point.
But Battleborn did release before Overwatch did. It would've done better if it wasn't overpriced and didn't have a stupid progression system for unlocking characters in a game you paid 60 dollars for.
Imagine if all of your first games of Overwatch had literally nothing but Tracers and Widowmakers because people haven't went out of their way to unlock the other characters yet.
I hope they eventually incorporate Pharah's original visual design as a skin:

They'll need to do something about the legs and the rocket launcher, but honestly it's too good of a look to not include eventually.

I have other reasons as to why they shouldn't have made it.
1) $60 and supposedly you have to unlock the characters?
2) Looks unoriginal
3) Too many similarities to Borderlands and the writing style
4) uninspired characters
5) bad release date, competiting with a game that is obviously in some ways similar that is owned by Blizzard and has been a lot more hyped up and way better marketed. Just bad.
what's the penalty for to many abandons?
-50% exp gain i think, goes away when you play multiple games in a row
Left 2 games because i got put into a 5v6 where my team was 1-0 down in captures with 90% cap for the enemy as well. Thx matchmaking

What do you get for leveling?
What do you get for leveling?
Cosmetics.
Just had a game where a bastion and reinhardt (turret behind shield) blocked the single way forward on that egypt map, with a healer keeping them topped up. Fucking brutal to break through and when we did the slightest fuck up that gave them control again had them push us back to that same spot.
I get that bastian is shit at high level play but he destroys in public low level play games where coordinating with a team just isn't going to happen in 99% of games. Also, I was quite surprised that that level had a section that was so easily choked without ways around unless you can fly or something, it felt like poor design.

But in Battleborn you have like 5 heroes unlocked from the beginning and you can unlock more by only playing story mode. You can't and shouldn't even compare Battleborn with Overwatch because they are different games. I don't even see anything wrong with the progression system.

I don't see what you're trying to do here besides prove my point that Battleborn dug its own grave. It's primarily a multiplayer game. Regardless of rhyme or reason, having characters locked behind walls is stupid, especially when you're competing with a game that has them all available from the start. Tons of people aren't going to want to play the singleplayer, they're in it for the multiplayer experience.
It was dead in the water before it released. 60 dollars and you don't own every character initially, you have to unlock them through progression lmao
It's a shame because I really enjoyed what I played in the open beta, it's nothing like Overwatch so it seems unfair the two should be compared.
It also costs over 2x as much as Overwatch does here.
Anybody else is unable to enter the game, or is it my shitty connection acting up?

Metal Gear RAY/Jehutey is that you?
Also behold, an all too common sight.

there is absolutely nothing more badass than planting soldier's heal beacon right behind the payload as you move it on the attack and allowing your team to become a walking wall of death
are they not allowing preloads for the open beta? otherwise my friends shitty internet wont allow him to play until tomorrow
Successfully won a round on Route 66 on attack with 6 Reapers. I felt bad for the other team.
The Overwatch Open Beta client will be available for download on all supported platforms beginning at the designated launch times listed above: on May 3 (for Early Access) and on May 5 (for All Access).
I don't know if it still works but there was a simple terminal command that would download the full client. Even if you didn't have access to play the game. Instructions: https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/47qqnc/step_by_step_guide_how_to_install_overwatch/
Geez the leaver penalty is ridiculous.
Had a massive 20 loss streak againat pre mades yesterday and just had enough, and now i'm 20+ full games with -75% xp in a row.
This is getting ridiculous.
Something about bad widowmakers makes me irrationally angry.
In TF2, sure, it's just another bad player. But here, you're making up 16% of the team, and it's totally dead weight.

In you're personal opinion yes, and when did Battleborn ever want to compete with Overwatch? I need a source on this. Also the Story mode is supposed to be played in Co-Op but gives you the option to play it alone and again, Overwatch is nothing like Battleborn and likewise
Now lets focus on Overwatch in this thread.
when did Battleborn ever want to compete with Overwatch?
When it was a cartoony class-based shooter coming out at the same time as Overwatch. There's only so much money and time to go around.

That's the main reason I roll my eyes when I see that shit
I kinda wish the Origin skins had alternate colours, especially Pharah's
Mei offers way too much utility. Her altfire wrecks shit if you can aim, she can freeze people, her ult is an AOE freeze the size of the objective, her ult can totally shut down offensives, and when if you just happen to fuck up its okay because you can hit shift and full-heal while invulnerable.
Honestly, her heal ability needs to be completely replaced with something else
It would be nice if the play of the game could be attributed to multiple people. Like if a Reinhardt knocks down the entire enemy team only for them to all be killed by a Junkrat or something they both deserve credit.
Like seriously.
I pretty much drained the entire enemy team's health as Roadhog but because Bastion last hit them he got play of the game.
How are supports like Mercy supposed to get Player Highlight :(
