Overwatch - The world needs heroes, and Blizzard needs a TF2 game!

It's a Blizzard game. You don't need to worry about longevity.
Damn, game hasn't come out already and there's already four wikis.
All have "Overwatch_Wiki" in their urls (which is probably nothing) but on the owpedia.com site (1st link), hit the button for a random page and some weird shit happens.
Some are ad-related, some are completely random. Just tried to see how many times it would take to get to the first actually overwatch-related page and it took me 31 times, with random bullshit pages appearning multiple times before I got to Widowmaker. All the pages are contributed/edited by random accounts, each one with a single page they created- you can check these by looking at recent changes. They looked really frequent, most recent one being yesterday.
That aside, owpedia (the first link) and orcz (the last link) look the worst, which is funny because they were outdone by a wikia site. Out of the wikia and the gamepedia site, I think the gamepedia site takes the cake, though it has a lot of unused space and I like the wikia's little bio things for each hero. It would be nice if the most opportune wiki was its own site though. (shame owpedia is so fucked)
When I get my hands on this game, I'm planning to do tests, to the best of my ability- and figure out the down and dirty mechanics of every single damn thing in this game. My problem is I've got lots of ideas, and I want to renovate the most opportune wiki but they're all bad to some extent.
I love how the fourth one list's Reaper's base of operations as ON THE EDGE.

Its a blizzard game, regardless of what it is, it will sell, and if it sells then its a good idea to turn yourself in a main source of information for that game asap.
I'm sure there's people who'd rather play on official or dedicated servers (i.e. scrubs and filthy casuals)
Really? This might be the case for some games but that doesn't mean overwatch public games will be like tf2's valve servers. We should just wait until the game comes out.
I don't mind their decision about the servers that much to be honest. Of course it's fun playing on a server with all the other regulars but I doubt that there won't be an option where you can at least join a lobby together.
Though, it's a bit of a downer for people who are looking to mod the game, that's true.
In my opinion, the best advantage of private servers in tf2 is that you can deactivate things like random crits and damage spread. That's why I pretty much only play on community servers. But I doubt that there will be similar things in overwatch which need to be disabled.
Somewhere, a blizzard employee mentioned that they design the game with competitive players in mind, so I guess that's a good thing.
I'm still looking forward to it, regardless of having private servers or not.
Honestly if the game releases with ranked matchmaking then it won't be fully comparable to Valve servers since it will at least be possible to avoid the absolute bottom of the barrel new players and freshly made "how long until I get banned" hacker accounts.
Pip: Will there be controller support?
Geoff: Yes.
Pip: Cool because I was sat there going “If I had a controller I’d be killing every single one you…”
Funny man
Every time this gets a post I hope it's about the cyborg samurai.

If controllers are so much better, then how come crossplatform MP isn't in any game, still remember valve was going to add crossplatform MP to CS:GO, PS4 and PC like that would be a fair fight ever.

Isn't that over already? It was just a side joke to begin with though. Beta comes when it's ready. They're still working on it.

some people legitimately can't get the hang of m+kb controls for FPS, they perform much better with a controller but the obvious skill ceiling that imposes is still present.
Its either tomorrow or next month

What makes you think it could be tommorow?
What makes you think it could be tommorow?
Someone somewhere once wrote that beta is coming out tomorrow.
That shit happened so many times I don't even know why anyone trusts those "leaks"
What makes you think it could be tommorow?
Tomorrow is the tenth, of the tenth month.
Blizzcon is the 6th of next month, it'll be the 10th of November for sure

Oct 27 Beta begins
I hope i get the beta. I only made my new battle.net account for this game.
I wonder how small of a group they're talking about, I will be really disappointed if I don't get in.
really cool to see that blizz is giving everyone the chance to play some weekends!, i remember the excruciating wait until i got a hearthstone key.
Motherfucker, the beta is during mid way my finals.
Any info on when it's ending? Bloody hope it's after 5th November.
[editline]15th October 2015[/editline]
Ah okay nvm, read the article and it said Asians will come up at a later date. Looks like I'll be able to play after all.
I'm really happy to hear this news. I can't wait until the 27th!
Now all I have to do is watch the preview livestream and hope I get in...
I have to wonder how many people "extremely limited" entails.
The fuckers lied at Gamescom, they said the beta would start the 10th of Fall.
I have to wonder how many people "extremely limited" entails.
The dev team.
I'm not excited for the beta, I'm excited for when the game actually comes out for everybody to play instead of a small group of people only being able to play it
I guarantee the 90% of the people they let into the beta will be streamers.
The stream is on and they already showed us a new map.
