Battle.net accounts are so secure that it'll make sure nobody else can get in, including the account owner.
Can't remember my security question (cuz I created the account so long ago) and now fucking Blizzard wants to see an ID.
FUCKING.
NOT OTHER COMPANY HAS EVER CAUSED ME THAT ISSUE.
WHY CAN'T YOU JUST USE EMAIL VERIFICATION BLIZZARD.
It'll just be easier to make a new account.

You can recover it by typing any blizzard game key you have.
they need to tone down some visual effects, there is too much visual pollution

I have none. I don't even know why I already have an account. Probably from a previous beta or something.

Uh, this happened to me once, I have them my ID and they just gave me the account back. It wasn't a big deal.
i'm not watching any of the streams because after about 10 minutes i evaluated that the people playing suck shit.

That's most common thing for streamers.
Streamers are one of the worst type of gamers you can find, skill wise.
They are dreadful at mechanical part of the game and also at figuring stuff out without any help from their chat.
The more talkative they are (small talk and screaming random stuff) the shittier they are...
This somehow also makes them more popular, I don't understand that.
Are there actually any GOOD streamers right now?
Not all streamers are shit at games, its only the popular ones. Mainly because their draw is their "personality"

The game isn't even released yet, how do you expect people to not suck at the game

because basic fps skills still carry over.
when i'm watching somebody with a high sens twitch all around missing easy shots, you know that person is shit.
not that hard to tell.
Dat latest stream yesterday night was like:
a) girl trying to snipe people, failed, switched to other class, failed, switched once again (reason: viewers demanded it), failed...
b) "boasting" the VOIP system, a feature I couldnt care less, in any game...
c) twitch cancer chat: how much women streamers are "appreciated", skillbased.
From what I've observed on stream:
- characters are kinda floaty
- character models "fluff" (extra parts, wings, etc) are not part of the hitbox
- still, giant weapon skins filling the entire screen, can't see shit :P
One thing that irked me was that it seems Tracer's bomb is hardly noticeable. People just seem to fall over.
Gameplay time

Watching Ellohime's stream is pretty good, but thanks for the heads up so I don't need to waste my time on her stream
While i'm excited HORRIBLY for the Beta, it's gonna be pretty unlikely that low-priority shmucks are gonna get in, right?
I'd imagine they'd prioritize anyone that'd give them free publicity first, along with the people that signed into the beta way earlier than others did.
As hyped as I am to play something that'd be refreshing and still a bit similar to tf2, it's gonna be a sad long wait I'd speculate.
Considering I signed up for the beta the day it was announced I wouldn't mind if they prioritize early signups but I doubt they will. Us regular Joes are probably just one one big list of names.
Apparently my WoW nerd buddy claims that if you have a WoW subscription you're more likely to get into the beta since you're an "active Blizzard member"
Hoping that signing up months ago and waiting patiently gives just as much pull.
I wouldnt count on getting in before 2016 unless u are a known (american) youtuber or streamer.

There will always be the beta weekends at least.

Yes. They even said they want to test the limits of their servers by getting AS MANY PEOPLE AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE PLAYING AT ONCE, so everyone will get a chance to play, even with limited maps and characters.

31st October actual Halloween hype

More like nobody will get to play because of error 37.

I signed up as soon as it was possible. I guarantee we won't get shit, happens to me all the time even though I've played every Blizzard game since WoW first came out.

They're only going to prioritize a select few large streamers/youtubers, presumably anybody <200k subscribers or <1000 consistent stream views. Beyond that I assume it's going to be a matter of whether you look like you're going to make the most of the beta or not (for instance, if you're a new account with no authentication/security or other blizzard games, you'll probably have less chance than someone with one of those things).

Pretty much this, but don't forget down the line Blizzard will give out keys to its large fansites, like Curse and the ZAM network (wowhead) to give out keys, but this will likely be months later when they're sending more invites to the closed beta. They did the same for HS and HotS after months of having it on a small closed beta population.
So, what characters are you going to try out first and for what reason?
I think I'd like someone like Torbjorn because it would seem like engineering and placement awareness would translate extremely well and relatively quickly over from TF2, giving me a quicker time to adjust to this game since it's something I would already know extremely well.
The feeling of being an offensive engineer and yet still supporting teammates with backup and the ability to lay down armor packs, along with the ultimate of being able to build up another "level 3" sentry in a pinch would feel immensely rewarding I would imagine. I already enjoy roaming around as an engineer with a temporary ambush sentry and a fortified nest someplace safer, hopefully that playstyle would translate well over into Overwatch. It's going to feel weird being without a dispenser and teleporters though.
Now they just need a character that builds an immobile dispenser that refills health, and you could build a psuedo-sentry nest with three characters combining their skills. v:v:v
Probably going to try out Roadhog because of his hook ability and double-barrel-like shotgun primary
Other than that, Tracer all the way
McCree, Reinhardt, and Junkrat seem the most interesting to me though several others look fun like Phara and Lucio. I'll probably give them all a run before settling into the ones I like the most. Also there's no telling what kind of meta will develop so there could be a character that looks fun now but turns out to be garbage in practice. I doubt Blizzard will let any of them be outright useless though.
I'll probably play all the Offense heroes first and then just play whoever interests me after that.
I like support and tanky characters that nobody ever plays. If they're popular, I want nothing to do with them. Mega e-hipster over here, but that always appeals to me.
