Anyone play Roadhog yet? I want to see that hook in an actual game.
Apparently a hook shotgun blast can basically insta a squishy, and it's pretty lenient. He also might be one of the best solo tanks in the game. His heals come online so goddamn quickly.
So I assume today is the only time they'll be flagging accounts? There aren't any other waves planned, right?
So I assume today is the only time they'll be flagging accounts? There aren't any other waves planned, right?
I'd wager we'll be seeing further 'waves' of waves later down the line, particularly with Blizzcon on the way.
Well I hope so. Kinda bullshit to hear people who signed up a few days ago, or even people who are banned in other Blizzard games are getting in before people who signed up day 1...

not sure if this has been posted here but if you wanna see some tracer gameplay you can watch clockworks stream his twitch name is just "clockwork"
Why can't they just have the beta open for everyone? I've been dying to play this game ever since the announcement.
Beta flagging has ended for now. There's always next time. Now excuse me while I step out to rage incoherently at the fact that I wasn't invited.
Like, what even is the fucking point of keeping it away from others? You have this massive fanbase behind your game, let them fucking play it. FFS Blizzard.
Like, what even is the fucking point of keeping it away from others? You have this massive fanbase behind your game, let them fucking play it. FFS Blizzard.
Ramps up desire. Only thing I can think of.
Ramps up desire. Only thing I can think of.
Yeah they want people to buy-in to the beta when it's available probably.
Like, what even is the fucking point of keeping it away from others? You have this massive fanbase behind your game, let them fucking play it. FFS Blizzard.
The same reason any betas are closed, a beta isn't a finished game, and Overwatch DEFINITELY isn't a finished game, the problems are blatant even watching footage, imbalance, map problems, the UI and particle effects being god awful. So they need feedback to finish it, but a million screaming 13 year olds isn't feedback. By limiting it to a small number you make sure that you can pay attention to what people are saying and not have actual feedback drowned out in a sea of idiots.
I'm admittedly disappointed about not getting in but I wasn't really expecting to. I just wanted a game to tide me over until Fallout 4 came out.

I'm going to guess that one of the characters is completely broken in a way that no one has found yet. Play tests for balance in these games always gets fucked up somehow
Like, what even is the fucking point of keeping it away from others? You have this massive fanbase behind your game, let them fucking play it. FFS Blizzard.
Oh boy, here comes the entitled masses. You're just such a special snowflake that YOU of all people should get to play it, right? Have you ever heard of TESTING your game before releasing it? Like others mentioned, there are PLENTY of negative things about the game, but most people are way too hyped to actually see the flaws. Blizzard haven't even gotten around to testing their server infrastructure and even with this few players we saw lobby problems yesterday. That doesn't really bode well for opening up the floodgate for the masses now, does it? Just keep reminding yourself that the more time spent on getting the details right, the better the game will be once us mere plebs get our hands on it.
Of all the companies I expected Blizzard to have the easiest time dealing with such a crowd while still understanding what needs to be changed.
Man, most of the streamers who begged for Overwatch access can't aim for shit. MMO/RPG/Poker players who can't aim to save their lives. How do these people get so many viewers? I'd spam the chat with "noob" all day long... Example: Rekful - it's like he was playing blind, wtf? (gets more views for playing like my grandma) Summ1t - dat dude can aim tho (barely any viewers, 12k)
Okay, where do I apply to proof / lie about that I'm a capable TF2 / FPS player, experienced game tester and a game design graduate so I have better chances at begging for a key. Oh I should also add that I'm a popular streamer at hitbox.
Kinda frustrating that my wow nerd friend got a beta invite despite not even signing up for the beta because he's basically given Blizzard well over 1,000 dollars worth of sub and he doesn't even plan to play it because he has no other friends to play it with.
How the hell did I get in? Answer: [sp]Photoshop[/sp]

At this point i'm wondering why the fuck Blizzard even announced the closed beta if they're just using it to build hype using youtubers and streamers. It's just making people upset.
I keep opening my launcher to look at the page sadly.
oooookay you guys complaining about streamers getting priority access need to realise something. the overwatch devs watch the streams for instant player feedback. Its easier to see what's wrong when they watch people play.

Blizzard's still at fault for that.
That still doesn't change the fact they announced a closed beta for everyone, and yet they only gave keys to streamers. Blizzard's still at fault for that.
"Only gave keys to streamers." I mean you can keep making shit up all day but there are maybe like a couple hundred streamers that got in and thousands of regular players that got in so clearly that's not true. Stop reading shit you see on the subreddit and taking it as fact. I swear to god one day into beta and the Overwatch community is already one of the worst. Blizz has been saying for weeks that it's going to be a tiny beta and don't expect to get in and for some reason people expected to get in and are disappointed that they didn't. You were warned.
-snip-
But it's not just the streamers. My buddy doesn't stream at all and he got in. Again, nearly 10 years subscription opens a lot of doors for you...
the reason why it's a closed beta is because the beta is only for balancing and bug fixes and tweaking the game (tweaking the ui and particle effects etc) if it was an open beta, it would be for balancing and bug fixes but it would also be to get more content and more gameplay footage of the game
