Is this everyone's first Blizzard beta? They've always done it like this and its how real betas are meant to be done, its not for you to play the game and pretend its out its for them to get the info that they need from the people in the beta, maybe everyone's getting spoilt by devs releasing unfinished games in beta open to everyone for around a year before they're actually done but popular streamers are in contact with blizzard and will actually report bugs and be streaming them live so that they have video proof of anything going on that might fuck up, and also advertsie the game for free. I have NO idea why people are acting so entitled because "I played another game for years and I want this one >:("
A lot of streamers will just go straight back to their main game after a day or two of playing. I think expecting most of them to report bugs is a little optimistic, more like people will point them out from their streams.
I watched the game for 10 minutes and was so underwhelmed that i turned it off.. This will never turn into the next Hearthstone on Twitch, because overwatch is just as boring to watch as TF2, probably fun to play! but to watch sucks.
its how real betas are meant to be done, its not for you to play the game and pretend its out its for them to get the info that they need
Proper closed betas are usually a lot more secret, advertised once then kept quiet, and once codes are sent they come with an NDA so people don't go around bragging about getting in. It also prevents viewers from burning themselves out and getting tired of a game that isn't done. Proper betas also usually also have forms to fill out in order to apply, with info such as which similar games you play, how often, what you like about them, how powerful your machine and Internet connection are, etc. I've been in quite a few private betas before, and when the selection is completely random the feedback is awful and not constructive. I don't know what they expect will happen, but streamers aren't exactly the type of people to flesh out their opinions after playing and certainly won't bring solutions to the table. They bring viewers. The way the invites are handled just makes me think that they're not planning on reworking things that much, they just want to know what the first impressions of vocal players are. I might be wrong, but if they want constructive criticism they're handling this the wrong way.
i was in the alpha for sc2, d3, hearthstone, and hots and gave plenty of feedback. surprised i didn't get into ow.

I actually dont know why people get so worked up about them, its beyond me how you are upset that you dont get to play a game early when they promised little more than a tiny chance that you might get to play it. If they want to give it to big streamers to get out there to people, then thats their gameplan.
I think expecting most of them to report bugs is a little optimistic, more like people will point them out from their streams.
And therein lies one of the reasons streamers are getting it before the poor pleb folk. And it's a pretty spanking good reason.
Honestly the tactic of getting invites for streamers first is somewhat a good idea as a lot of the people who watch and get pissed at/point out the bugs the streamer encounters would normally just dismiss them and continue playing, as opposed to having thousands of people looking for reasons to call the game out for any bug or unbalanced mechanics they find. That being said the salt is still real. Blizz always had very low tester count anyway so we getting the chance to at least watch is nice.
it's interesting to see some streamers who get invited to ow, play it for 2-3 hours, and then decide the game's not for them and change games. especially overhyping on stream with various stream titles related to overwatch or various tweets about overwatch.
Have some really good gameplays:

It's also fallen below games like hearthstone, league of legends, counterstrike, and DOTA 2. That's even with some of the big hearthstone streamers playing overwatch instead.
Have some really good gameplays:
tbh i wanna play with those characters first before i call that "really good gameplay"
tbh i wanna play with those characters first before i call that "really good gameplay"
Tbh there are so many gameplays and streams around that you can already tell if someone is actually good at playing the character and when someone just got lucky. Some info got dug up about potential details regarding progression: http://www.overpwn.com/news/85-possible-content-teaser-overwatch-strings Obviously it's all subject to change.
Junkrat actually seems pretty good, I thought he looked kinda crappy from his reveal trailer. [editline]29th October 2015[/editline] Holy shit Roadhog looks like a hell of a lot of fun with the hook. These reveal trailers really didn't show off how ridiculous they can be.
Ever since the announcement of more invites being passed out by blizzard, i've gotten into a habit of checking my phone (email notification) every morning when I wake up in hopes that I got in.. I hate starting my days in dissapointment.
Yeah, I still have no invite. Meanwhile, my friend that I have mentioned who got his in the first wave of invites has yet to even play the game. He's been too busy playing Warframe and raiding in WoW.
Kinda pissed I couldnt get into the beta, but then again I got my exams now and I probably wouldnt have been able to try it anyway.
Checked out the overwatch reddit, theres someone streaming bob ross competing for top views on twitch, at one point he had more viewers than overwatch currently bob ross 55k viewers overwatch 68k
This is just stupid system. Give keys to popular kids rather than random people. That's just IN-SALTING.
Checked out the overwatch reddit, theres someone streaming bob ross competing for top views on twitch, at one point he had more viewers than overwatch currently bob ross 55k viewers overwatch 68k
it's over. overwatch is currently at 16k.
i got a key but i have no interest in the game at all, i think I signed up for it ages ago but i don't even remember the password to by battlenet anymore
i got a key but i have no interest in the game at all, i think I signed up for it ages ago but i don't even remember the password to by battlenet anymore
I feel empty on the inside reading that
i got a key but i have no interest in the game at all, i think I signed up for it ages ago but i don't even remember the password to by battlenet anymore
Give me your account
Give me your account
40,000 dollars please
Why is this place full of sodium chloride?? (including me) Has no one here actually played the game and has something to talk about? Like how stupid popular X is, or how OP y is.
A bit disappointed there are no plans for an OS X beta, but from the sound of it there may not be a OS X version at all. The wording is a bit weird.
Q. Will Mac users be able to participate in the beta? We’re developing Overwatch for Windows-based PCs only, so a Mac-specific beta will not be provided.
http://us.battle.net/forums/en/overwatch/topic/19592339053
lol i got in to the beta and i dont even care about it. played it for 10 minutes before i got bored
