Overwatch - The world needs heroes, and Blizzard needs a TF2 game! - Games

I wonder what new content they'll reveal over the next 4-5 months if that's the entire character roster. I hope they haven't blown their load too early. Can't just be maps can it? I wouldn't mind a bit of story content but apparently we're getting comics for that.

I feel like the way Blizz may approach it is like this: you buy the game and get the whole original hero roster of 21, then they add more heroes as DLC as time goes on. Kinda like Smash for Wii U's new character system if you're familiar with how that works. And then they'll do cosmetic skins and the like as well. Of course, I'm not actually 100% sure if that's how it'll work, but it feels like a reasonable guess to me. The time gap between now and estimated release is really large, so I could easily be wrong.

I'm guessing heroes will get added in expansion packs as opposed to individual or they go full on with the skins and we get free characters and maps. Whens the dedicated Overwatch panel again?

Symmetra, Genji, D.Va and 76 are in my sights. And Mercy too perhaps.

I rather have a hands-on experience with the game before I go out and about which hero I am going to "main".

Apparently a news network that's at Blizcon told Mulsek that you have a higher chance or get instantly into the beta if you pre-purchase. But he also says to wait till details are out to see if that's true.

Man grown up ice climbers shoes are REALLY big! I didn't know snow shoes came in T-rex size, yikes.

Bought the regular version as most of the Origins content didn't seem that great, especially the stuff for other Blizzard games that I will never play. I hope the skins can be bought separately though, I would very much like to replace Reaper's edgelord appearance with something a bit more fitting. I predict that after 3 or so months after release there will be a stable, but fairly small, player base. You'll have a decent number of people buy it at release, but see a huge dropoff of sales after that. There's just nothing more than can come out about the game to convince someone to buy it if they already don't want it. There's no amazing single player mode to talk about, there's not going to be any modding, etc.

This game would be popular as hell even if it costed $60
