I have to say that the footage doesn't look impressive at all. The movement looks very stale and clunky. Quite disappointing to be honest.

I'm not seeing that at all. I don't even know what "stale movement" could even possibly mean but it doesn't look clunky at all.

Well, stale might not be a good word. The movement doesn't look fluid, the animations feel a bit stiff. I'm just worried that the third person cover based shooting becomes boring quite quickly, it's probably a lot more engaging and rewarding to coop with some buddies. But the footage doesn't look that convincing to me.
It just looks shallow, so I do really hope that all the surrounding gameplay mechanics like the rpg elements and multiplayer make this game something more than just a cover based shooter.
Yeah, I agree. The game doesn't really seem to have anything special going on, other than being a 3rd person shooter... I wish there was more of a survival aspect to it, which doesn't seem to be the case.

I would imagine the RPG part is the special part. The bare essential gameplay of most RPGs isn't anything special either usually.

I don't really want to be negative and disrespect your optimism here but thus far the rpg elements don't look that intricate nor compelling. It really amounts to how much loot and variety we get, if they really mess up that aspect. The gameplay itself won't really keep this game alive.

I dunno, it will to me cause third person cover shooters is one of my favorite genres. So being able to do that in an open world sounds a lot of fun.

I do agree with you though. The open world aspect, multiplayer aspects combined with the rpg elements make for an interesting mix. Let's hope it will be a good game. Also I do hope the AI is challenging as well.
I'm gonna buy the beta key and see what the game is like. Better waste that 2 euros instead of 40.
I'm much more looking forward to Wildlands, but I hope that this one would give me some enjoyment as well.
My primary concern is reactivity. Is the environment as reactive as it was in the first bits of gameplay?
I also feel like this game may involve some very bullet spongy enemies.
What we seen in beta are very average geared players. As well as people who can't headshot on the xbox controller, and they probably were not able to spec fully into DPS talents.
There are talents, skills, and perk trees that you get to choose into.
But super big bosses might still have some bullet spongy mechanics. I can't recall any game I've ever played not having some type of bullet sponge atm.
From the videos alone I feel like snipers and lmgs are going to be the best guns to have. Sniper I seen was semi automatic and it was doing like 33-40% of an enemy's hp on headshots. and LMG doesn't run out of ammo fast like an assault rifle.
I personally don't mind bullet sponges as long as I enjoy the gameplay.
Yeah, but seeing a low life thug getting pumped with lead without flinching and still running away is kind of immersion breaking.

it IS an rpg, though. just with shooting mechanics. just like destiny.
That's a valid point. At least in Destiny you had vicious aliens and robots, so it isn't that immersion breaking. But you're right.

Half naked Psycho in Borderlands could be bullet spongy too and it wasn't such a big deal
actually it was a big deal, that game had a really bad issue with higher level scaling being absolutely bonkers
I think the worst offender has to be Skyrim on a higher difficulty level, you need to cut your enemies literally a thousand times before they die.

That's like saying the dice in tabletop games are immersion breaking.

Yeah. It's not hard to do. They've just created a bunch of detailed and interactive objects and turned them into prefabs that can be slightly modified (car colour, etc), and placed loads of times over. Just, once again I find myself saying this, mind your expectations.
I really wish one of the PC settings was prop density, followed by that neat snow melt system I've heard mentioned.

I saw footage where the guy was steam rolling through them. Killing them in less hits than it takes to kill someone in R6 Siege. Pretty sure your weapon DPS, Your level, and the enemy's level matter, but the guy wasn't very high level in the video
I see alot of comments around about 'bullet spongey' enemies. Guess I'll reassure people. They are only bullet spongey if you have shitty gear. And even then with bad gear most of the footage you see is people not properly shooting the enemies and aiming for the chest when they should be aiming for the head. There health goes down so much faster that way. And people fail to remember that the game is very group based. So when you've got 3-4 guys shooting bullets into them they will drop even faster.

Seems like a lot of peoples big complaints are just speculation and assumption from the bits and pieces of gameplay and information we've gotten. Running around before the game is even out complaining about things that can't really be confirmed until the game is actually released and people play it is kind of silly :v:
-snip- issue was covered, that aside i initially did the Amazon trick then decided to keep the game order, i just hope it has enough content to keep us occupied and doesn't heavily rely on DLC ( ala destiny )
I'm expecting shittons of dlcs tbh but thats fine by me as long as it keeps me occupied.
I keep coming back to this old video:

That, coupled with the dlc tier maps splitting (that will happen), makes me wonder why I'm still hyped for any shred of Ubishaft hope?!
The upcoming beta will bring such a shitstorm, especially for PC masters like myself.

Why would it?
Why would it?
Cuz the beta will "confirm" the downgrade vs E3 2013 version :D

It will also confirm who is a picky bastard.
