There is one problem with many current C&C games:
They are attempting to make it graphically pleasing but they go overboard with some things like saturation and everithing looks bright as hell
What the hell do you mean 'many'? One week ago, Command and Conquer Generals became a DECADE old. Not including expansions, there has only been three games released in the last ten years (and ten years isn't exactly current).
Besides, just turn your gamma down if it bothers you that much.

Three factions:
Asian-Pacific Alliance (APA)
Global Liberation Army (GLA)
European Union (EU)

Cosmetic stuff

The details are stunning, no low-res scenery on the map nor props without matching scales to the units.
This picture made me even more excited.
Oh, and regarding the cosmetic things, are we talking about camouflage, cosmetic gear or are there no details about it yet?

Nothing more than that.
So no America Faction? Interesting.
In Generals, the US [sp]had their base in Hamburg destroyed by GLA, completely crippling them and their presence in Europe, so it would make sense there is no America faction.[/sp]

Yeah, made sense that the US is unable to be in Generals 2. Kinda better than having the US winning all the time and saving the world. If I am not mistaken, it was [sp]China that stopped GLA and saved the world.[/sp]
Ok, this has made me excited.

I am interested in this unit
Looks pretty badass imo.

They're equally badass.
Units with crazy-high fire rates always have badass lines.
Best RA3 mod IMO:

Now gimme the Ion cannon!

Particle cannon.
USA is not present in the new game so there will be something new most likely.

If the UN were in Generals 2 their superweapon would be a strongly-worded letter that demoralizes enemy troops and makes them consider to lay down their arms and go back to being farmers or something.
The tech-focussed EU faction, the guerrilla warfare inspired Global Liberation Army, and the large scale Asian Pacific Alliance are in there right now, but it plans to launch with a dozen. You’ll be given a certain number of Generals for free, but the others won’t necessarily need to be bought.

“We’re trying to enable players to both grind or buy,”
“The first big example would be Generals. Then there’s customisation, so vanity items. Then there’s convenience, things like XP boosts that last a certain amount of time.”

With that in mind, I mention the possibility of user-created content. If maps are free, then is there a chance for the game to come with a map editor. Surprisingly it’s something Victory games are considering. Morten says they’ll do it if they can make it work: “It’s not as much about free-to-play as it is about the engine. I’m really excited about the possibility of potentially providing the ability for players to trade maps, and to have an interface for that instead of it just being ad-hoc through sites.”
[editline]25th February 2013[/editline]
The good will eventually runs out at server-hosting. I didn’t expect it to be any other way, but Morten confirms that there will be only EA hosted servers that users can customise: “Our server back-end is run entirely in the cloud, so in terms of being able to set-up tournaments using our servers, absolutely, but users having their own box – that’s not possible, because it’s got to be part of our cloud cluster. We’re still going to provide player the hooks to provide their own tournaments, so hopefully they’ll still get the features they want, but with a good quality of experience.”
MAP EDITOR?! Okay this game gets 50+ goodness points
I'm going to remain skeptical about the new upcoming generals because most sequels lately have sucked major horse cock.
Hell yes, the excitement just increased!

Another hands on preview
Since it's a Generals game, sub-faction generals are all part of the fun too, allowing you to buy or unlock different characters for each army. "They have special units," explains Morten, "and in our case they add player powers and staff modifiers: they're tailored to a very specific style. You can find the general that best suits your style of gameplay. Air power, lasers, nukes, stealth

There will be four game modes at launch, covering deathmatch, a capture the flag variant tentatively called Dominion, and a co-op wave-based mode that sounds a lot like Horde. Controversially, single-player fans will have to make do with one-off PvE skirmishes: there's no story campaign yet, although, since this is a live service, that may be added at a later date.

And what about eSports? "One of the things about eSports is that you don't necessarily pick them, they pick you," laughs Morten. "We're very hopeful that what we're building will appeal to that audience, and we have plans to add moderation features, tournament features, spectator modes, that will really help appeal to that audience. We're talking about maybe creating modes where there are no bumps to levels: levels where it's purely about player skill. But they really have to come to us."

Future updates could even include content lifted from the Red Alert and Tiberian universes, with crossovers that span the Command & Conquer series' universes a possibility, Victory says.

Command & Conquer's use of DICE's engine seems ambitious, and the game's detailed simulation adds some visual disorder to the game. There were times during our hands-on session when it was unclear just which units were ours and which were still active, confusion compounded by the game's currently unpolished interface. Given its early state, with months and potentially years of refinement to go, it's difficult to judge just how effective Command & Conquer's implementation of Frostbite will ultimately be.
I don't like that they are having squads of infantry in the new command and conquer, i liked it when it was just a single soldier as a unit.
The EU Logo is combination of the RL EU flag and the UN logo. Neat.
[editline]25th February 2013[/editline]
The game looks beautiful
I don't like that they are having squads of infantry in the new command and conquer, i liked it when it was just a single soldier as a unit.
Personally i prefer when the infantry are in squads, sure, it worked well in RA3 but i wouldn't accept it in another C&C game.
[editline]25th February 2013[/editline]
Oh, and i hope they won't add a pop-cap, that'd ruin it.
Nothing ruins an RTS quite like pop-caps
I didn't mind the pop-cap in Star Wars Empire at War, maybe because it was a new RTS and not based on a series that did not have pop caps
Game still looks a bit cartoony, but not as much as it did in the earlier screenshots . I just hope they keep the no population limits intact because that is what I like best about Command and Conquer games, which is why I didn't get Tiberian Twilight.
