OpenRA is pretty boss, been playing it off and on for a while now. Wish I had some people to actually play it with, however.
FUCK YOU EA. I WANT GENERALS 2, FULL SINGE-PLAYER AND CO-OP CAMPAIGN(as in C&C4) NOT F2P P2W STRATEGY GAME.
I don't wanna get hopes up but this might mean EA might have learned a lesson from 'the outcast'.[sp]CnC4[/sp]

Authenticity or not, pay to win in a RTS is a baaaaaaad idea
EDIT: because it shuns those who don't p2w obviously
When has pay to win ever not been a bad idea?
When has pay to win ever not been a bad idea?
When has it been a good idea?
When has it been a good idea?
It's always bad... never really good.
The closest thing u can get to good is well.. manageable.
I don't play p2w games myself, but i'm sure there are some genres out there were p2w is do able without breaking the core element of gameplay

Mostly P2W games, have this shit in stores:
1) Stuff you can buy for normal cash(in-game one) - from 2-6 packs of clothes, 3-5 guns, and they are pretty shit.
2) Everything else that is shitload better than in-game-cash-items - at least 10 clothes, at least 10 guns.
seriously.
If you are worried about it becoming pay2win, take your mind off the matter by contemplating this thread here. http://www.commandandconquer.com/forums/showthread.php?5121-In-game-advertising
Also, I'm sick of seeing all this ranting about Generals 2. Don't bitch about something that hasn't even gone past two teaser trailers and some backgrounds. This guy made a video based solely on the trailers we've seen.

If you find an interesting source of information that a. confirms or b. contradicts the popular opinions, post it here. If it's just information we've already seen, don't bother.
Now let's get this thread back to good discussion before Black Lotus derails it again.
Am I the only one that enjoyed Red Alert 3?
RA3 wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough either.
I really enjoyed it, OTT as it was. Uprising kinda ruined any existing unit balance, though.
Am I the only one that enjoyed Red Alert 3?
Yes, you are.
I enjoyed it for a few weeks but then the comic value wore off and I went back to CnC3.
Just wondering, but did any of you guys play the custom CcC 3 map Tiberium Blood? It's a custom map where you start with a base in each corner of the map and constantly spawn units. After so many kills, you are rewarded a saboteur to spend on new units to spawn/ base upgrades, etc. I had a lot of fun with this map.

That kinda reminds me of those Age of Mythology Ludo maps. I never played that particular map but it looks fun. My favourite custom map though was that reef map for Zero Hour. Every few minutes, the tide would drop, exposing a landbridge straight to the enemy base.
Command and Conquer Ultimate Collection- Who's getting it?
I have the games except for Red Alert 3, but I think it'll be great to own it on Origin. They are updated for Windows 7 but it also means I can keep the games a bit more permanently. CD's and DVD's only last so long! I just hope that I can open Origin on two computers and play LAN games with my bro and dad. That'll fun.

The first decade + C&C 3 is all you need. Wasting your money on RA3 & C&C4

RA3 was a good purchase for the $15 I bought it for on sale, I'm not sure about the $30 tag though. Having someone to go through the co-op campaign with makes it so much more fun, gone through the campaigns several times each with a few different people. It's great fun when playing it right.

I want to try co-op, but game diesn't allow me to. "CD key is already used." I know, EA Support and stuff, but meh, they might won't help me at all...
I'm curious to know the sales figures on C&C3, RA3 and C&C4, see how low C&C4 actually was.
We should organise a match in RA1/RA2 with Facepunchers or something.
How about that? Anybody else here has RA2? If you don't have a CD key, we can play through Tunngle.

I've got the first decade on disk plus Tunngle after using it for Civ 5, but I'll play some other time, GOT THINGS TO DOOOO.

I couldn't find figures for other CnC's but CnC4 outsold Sims 3, Dragon Age:Origins and Bad Company 2 in Europe. (I'm just as confused as you are!)

I am surprised that C&C4 oversold BC2, but I think that both games are awesome, and I think that C&C4 is an awesome game, you haters.

Just found this on one website:
PC Gamer reports that the game will ship with competitive and cooperative skirmishes.
The word cooperative makes me happy, somehow.
I refuse to believe such a statistic. BC2 was beautiful :smith:
I heard the economy there was failing but I didn't know they were that desperate for cheap games. V:v:V
Thread has seen little activity so lets get inspired to talk:

This guy here built a CnC4 GDI MCV out of Lego! If it gets plenty of supporters, the Lego company will consider making it into a set. It is in my own personal interests to own this set! If little kiddies get their hands on something Command and Conquer related, there'll be a tsunami of fresh noobs coming online, but hey, the series will be financially secure again!
[sp]I'm not predicting moderation, but looking at my ban history, I can see where my post might land me :/ [/sp]

Holy shit.
But we don't want people buying CnC4, EA will start thinking it was a good idea
