That's the complaint for every Sims game. When the Sims 2 came out people bitched that it didn't have stuff from the Sims, the same with the Sims 3. People get used to the expansions and forget how bare bones the Sims is at launch, every Sims game even from the start.
Speak for yourself. There's a very good reason why I won't spend money on a Sims game. While the games are a lot of fun once a few expansions have brought back all the content they arbitrarily removed from the base games, and they've had their chance to resell you the same content that previous expansions for the last game already brought, I refuse to spend the hundreds of dollars necessary to reach that point. It's a pretty offensive business model.
The Sims 3 kind of crumbles under the pressure once you add more than a few expansion packs to it, though

I've played them all with friends or family but I'm not going to buy a Pets expansion four fucking times.
It seems my VPN trick isn't working anymore, I do what it says log into origin and it opens but opens a little tiny box with 2 vertical and horizontal scroll bars and i close that to try re-open and it just closes origin altogether
I think there s something fundamentally wrong when we accept as the norm the idea that a game series consists of the 'base game' and then a number of expansion packs which mostly just add in stuff that should be there anyway. EA has forgotten the reasoning behind expansion packs: they are to add fresh, new ideas that were thought up after a games release - not as a way of drip-feeding a series of existing features in exchange for money.

Just realised this is £50 on Origin who the fuck would pay £50 to get sold shit DLCs down the line.

Now I can't even connect to any of the VPNs
still on preload til friday, you americans suck.
still on preload til friday, you americans suck.
Yeah well we have to pay out of the ass for our health and even then they try not to pay it, but we usually get games a day or two earlier than the rest of the world so it's a trade off
Still not sure how come the Asian release date for Sims 4 was much earlier than the rest of the regions. I bought mine on the 1st of September (31st August if in US) and able to download and play it on the day itself. I thought it would release earlier in the US than anywhere else.

Not my screenshot, but I had to repost it. [t]http://yuq.me/users/42/137/ItZcbUoAOh.png[/t]
I'm totally gonna wait on getting 4. Everything I'm hearing sounds great, but I'd rather let some expansions come out first so I can get a better experience. Also I'm ultra bummed at the removal of the Create-A-Style. That was like my favorite part of the Sims 3.
TS3 chugged so bad on my machine I never got to enjoy Create-A-Style
I really wish the neighborhoods were bigger. It's the only thing that's holding me off from buying the game. It sucks that there is really only four or so empty lots. I don't mind the loading screen part, but they could have made the communities a lot bigger.
anyone have a list of cheat codes?

Really don't understand how you can be a company like EA not releasing new games for 64bit.
The only thing I don't like is that you have to go through a loading screen... to visit the house right next door to you
Apparently my sim looks smug as fuck here: [t]http://upl.kittehcat.org/2014-09-03_14-09-18.png[/t]
anyone have a list of cheat codes?
as if you need anything besides rosebud and motherlode
testingcheats
as if you need anything besides rosebud and motherlode
no idea if it's in, but 'testingcheatsenabled true'
holy shit the music from stereos speeds up with the time speeds
holy shit the music from stereos speeds up with the time speeds
So does the music and singing done by sims. Be it on instrument or singing in the shower.
It's almost unbelievable to play a Sims game that runs so smooth.

It'd be fucking awesome, no doubt, but it would take for-fucking-ever to develop and it's practically giving it away for $60. There are things in the subsequent ex packs that I think should totally be in the base game, I'm sure we'll see it when they come out (see Late Night for The Sims 3), but I think asking for the kind of content people tend to complain for when a new Sims game comes out in a little overbearing. [editline]3rd September 2014[/editline] That, and ex packs tend to be so pick-and-choose. I'm 100% sure I'm not buying Pets this time. Fuck that.
Pirated games features permanent censorship mosaic on Sims after they use the toilet/take a shower
