The Sims Megathread - Come on in! The house is on fire but it's ok. Have you seen my basement?

I'm getting a bug where whenever I select any placeable item (i.e door, fridge, bed, all that jazz) my screen goes black. The game is still running, but the screen itself it black for whatever reason, I'm able to guess my way around the pause menu based on videos I've seen to save and quit but that's about it. I've done the same bug 5 or 6 times so it's not just a one time thing. Any ideas?

Yeah, quite a weird choice of food for a wedding reception.

how do you kill a sim?
[editline]7th September 2014[/editline]
the torture kind of way. since there is no pools, I have to improvise a new plan. it looks like using a fireplace with a rug is not working either.
It's not. On the gallery, I mean. And I don't want to get into details...
But thank you!
That's a big shame, I wanted to use it since I'm shit at houses.

Buy stoves with low reliability, and cook a few times until a fire starts. Then remove all doors in build mode.

I let her starve to death. Nevermind.

Fuck, Death is more up to date with technology then most old people are.
I hope you hooked death up with that qt 3.14 watching what's happening.

Then he goes inside to watch the Romance channel. Doesn't he have people to condemn?
Is it normal for my sim's girlfriend to be super clingy? She comes around like everyday.
I need some alone time too woman, also it gets really awkward when she stands there for an hour and I'm at work.

It seems like every sim that you become friends with does that.
It's weird my Sim's wife made friends with some random old guy and he comes everyday to knock on the door. It's kinda funny when I decide to not answer him but to like paint outside while he is there just waiting.
Bella Goth for the longest time wouldn't leave my sim alone after I kissed her for the first time. She would turn up 4 times a day. Thankfully ignoring her for a few days dropped it down to one.
Made a spaceship-ish house

I like how buildings houses in the Sims defy gravity and such
People keep talking about not getting Sims 4 until some expansion packs come out but I personally am not touching it until there's a decent modding scene for it.
The thrill of finding all the similar looking anime hairstyles to download is like half of the appeal of the series for me.
So somehow when I wasn't paying attention my Sim got himself a girlfriend, who would summarily come over like 3-5 times a day when my sim is at work or sleeping.
So I did what any sane man would do
I invited her in, fucked her a couple of times, invited her to move in, then put her in a 2x2 room with no doors and let her starve to death while my sim went about his day to day routine.

btw he's evil, going to become a villain, and on the dastardly aspiration path so... I guess it fits?

A good modding scene is just as good if not better than expansion packs. How many times have we all browsed Nexus for our FOTM games

What's wrong with them? They look nice...
I've always thought they eye mods like that have way too much detail for their own good and, in turn, make seems eyes look creepy.

They don't really go with the art style too well.
That said as far as Sims eye mods go, they're not the worst. Some are genuinely nightmare inducing.
I've always thought such eye-mods always improved the Sim looks a lot, but I think that TS4 doesn't need them anymore. Sims already look good enough. But, whatever...

Tried killing them with a fireplace.
Walled off all exits, told them to warm themselves, they reach out their hands and suddenly one caught fire like a fucking sorcerer or something
a shitty sorcerer
I got the Sims 4 today as an early birthday present, and I like it alot better than the sims 3, Sims 3 just seemed very boring to me, while this has a smaller world, but is alot more interesting.

Yesterday, I made a screencap of the rule-63-of-me sim watching comedy TV.
Funny thing is, it's the same 2 TV programs over and over.
EDIT: Could I add more "TV programs" to the TV or something? It gets quite boring to watch the same programs looping over and over. Maybe adding some videos of real TV shows or something?
Where the emotional shawties at?

Yes.
Actually she's the rule63 alias of my mashup/mashcore music: http://jmaamusic.com/album/fuck (NSFW, plus bad art warning, sort of)
On a sidenote, I made her a big bum just to compensate the big breasts thing, but I don't know if it really helps.
As cool as multitasking is, the AI hasn't really improved much. Got into a situation where one Sim had multiple needs and the game couldn't decide which one to raise first, every time it went to do something it'd interrupt it with another action. The Sim was just walking in a loop between toilet, bed and fridge endlessly until I queued up an action. Also had a sim go to bed, then wake up to complain about how tired they were, then went for a nap in another room.
Something simple like giving certain needs priority (Needing to pee is more important than eating, which beats sleeping, etc.) would go a long way (Or even just having them not clear out the queue to complain about needing something they were queued to do).
