wait do people actually play with free will on?
I do, cause otherwise my Sim ends up standing still doing nothing while i'm controlling another sim.
wait do people actually play with free will on?
Well, I do at least when I run out of ideas of how to control a sim, but not much really.
I love how the TV shows on TS4 use models from TS3, like TS3 did with the TS2 models.
Apparently there isn't yet a way to add custom TV shows on TS4. Pretty sad. Still there is custom music.
Does the Retro sims music appear anywhere outside the audio menu?
wait do people actually play with free will on?
If I wanted to play XCom, I would have launched the real thing instead of The Sims.
Does the Retro sims music appear anywhere outside the audio menu?
I don't think so. I thought that I could change the build music to the original SimBuy but I guess not. Pretty pointless to be able to sit there and listen to it in the menu but not in the game. Maybe they just forgot to add the "retro" station?

I went to the lounge in Oasis springs and they played a few retro songs. Then again the only people that seem to go there are old sims so I guess it fits. [editline]8th September 2014[/editline]
As cool as multitasking is, the AI hasn't really improved much. Got into a situation where one Sim had multiple needs and the game couldn't decide which one to raise first, every time it went to do something it'd interrupt it with another action. The Sim was just walking in a loop between toilet, bed and fridge endlessly until I queued up an action. Also had a sim go to bed, then wake up to complain about how tired they were, then went for a nap in another room. Something simple like giving certain needs priority (Needing to pee is more important than eating, which beats sleeping, etc.) would go a long way (Or even just having them not clear out the queue to complain about needing something they were queued to do).
My sim was exhausted after going out so I sent him to bed. right as he gets to the bed and starts the action, the pass out action queues so he falls asleep in bed, immediately wakes up, goes to the middle of the room and falls over. They have some tweaking to do with the AI I think.
So, in the Sims 3, I have this huge sorta communal living arrangement, and two couples have formed. Unfortunately everybody uncontrollably flirts with everyone else and causing massive fights. Goddamn it. Also they're obsessed with swimming, and one sim in particular kills every computer she comes in contact with because she trolls on forums for entire days on end.

You can max out the friendship meter and still remain pretty plutonic. I think maybe sometimes other sims may try to bust out of the friendzone occasionally, but I really like that they have separate bars for romance and friendship.
I do, cause otherwise my Sim ends up standing still doing nothing while i'm controlling another sim.
Well you can make it so it disables free will only for the sim you are currently controlling.

So is the Sims 4 actually worth getting? I've heard some people say how good it is, others say how bad it is. What are the community lots like, is it worth leaving your house?
I'd love to play it, but after owning most of the Sims 3 I can't really justify it. I wish they hadn't removed open world and had made the effort for 64bit most of all.
I struggle making houses, well just roofs(?) as it's hard to say make a roof on the second floor and then add another roof on the 3rd floor to make it all seem to go together

What do you guys think/hope the first sims 4 expansion pack will be?
Katy Perry Sweet Treats - Sims 4 Edition
For the sake of getting them out the way, I hope the first two are pets/seasons.
For the sake of getting them out the way, I hope the first two are pets/seasons.
I didn't really care for pets last season. The only thing I liked is that they populated the world with animals, making it feel even more alive. All I want is my snow back.
I playing the sims 4 and a fire broke out but I have a fire alarm so I was like oh ok the fire fighter's will come, after a while no one came! After nearly losing two sims who tried to put the fire out I googled it. Turns out there's no firefighters! No police or burglars! No repo man! No paperboy! What the flying fuck?
While of course I'd rather have seen some of this stuff in the base game, I'd hope for the first few expansions to be combined expansions from the sims 2 and 3. Ex. Sims 4 downtown would open up the city with more night life stuff and apartments, have player run buisnesses, and maybe have a downtown university or something. Or Sims 4 vacation would have the island stuff from that boathouse expansion in the Sims 3 as well as stuff from world adventures. [editline]8th September 2014[/editline] After that hopefully they'd make some more original expansions.
It's more like a house building game, so If this was a sequel to the prototype of The Sims 1 10/10!
Seasons. Night Life. Something to expand jobs. Anything after that is icing for me.

No firefighters because the sims aren't that dumb that they just stand still on fire anymore. You can put yourself out while panicking and put out other fires afterwords. I caught on fire the instant I tried to make something and my sim proceeded to put himself and the fire out. No real need for fire fighters if you have a fire extinguisher unless it's a whole house fire which is hard to actually have happen if you stop it at the source in time.
