14, 15, 16, 17. That's 4. Either that or I can't count.
2017 - 2014 = 3 [editline]25th August 2017[/editline] Has anyone had a bug with (spiral) staircases in TS2 where sims walk to the stairs then take a step back, then towards the stairs again, etc? They don't complain about their path being blocked but they're just stuck in a loop. I've rearranged my stairs to fix it but then it randomly happens again after a while.
I got back into the sims 3, got most of the nrass essential mods. Was wondering what the best mods for improving faces / lag were. Also, this is kind of weird, but I was hoping to play the game just as my one Sim, not even having to control any others even others in my household. I was wondering if there is a mod that does something along those lines.

This feature already exists in game, however this only works on your current save only. You have to go to Edit Town and click on the household you want to edit. Next click on the 3rd option called "Split up household" [t]http://i.imgur.com/5wXkox0.png[/t] From there you can select the sim(s) you wish to add to your new household. [t]http://i.imgur.com/yZp7u1S.png[/t] - From there you can move your sims from the clipboard to your new house!
This is what I meant thanks!
I think you can use MasterController - should be part of those NRaas mods. As to the option you want, according to someone from MTS:
It is found under the Sim menu, in Advanced --> Selectability
Haven't tried it myself, but it sounds like that should have something to do the trick. Keep a save beforehand just to make sure you can reverse it if needed.
Yeah, the existing cheat menu should be sufficient to turn off control of other characters.
so, for anyone interested in Freeso
That reminds me: i was thinking earlier the other day that if there's ever a time for a new Sims competitor to come up, it's now. I think the Sims 4 was a total flop and while it didn't help that it was developed by the Simcity Maxis / EA, the following years spark a bit of an interest in reviving once forgotten simulation genres. Cities Skylines blew SimCity under the water with it's focus on player freedom and creativity and did literally everything better than SimCity, which, aside from its mobile game, is a dead game and potentially dead series. Then comes RCTW and Planet Coaster both coming in to give the coaster tycoon sim a fresh revival. Here again we see a classic series burned to the ground while a new one rises. I'm genuinely surprised no one has attempted to make a new take on the Sims. The Sims 4 was a huge step backwards for the series with its removal of core features like pools, toddlers and the open world but also other small things like the create a style which were staples of the series. On top of this, fresh content is churned out slower than molasses and the content that is released is expensive, bloated and otherwise uninspired or even re-releases of content that the previous game had. I can imagine a company who is passionate about understanding what players want from a game like the Sims could easily make a competitor. Because even at its current state, the Sims 4 just feels lifeless, almost like there is no point to it. Imagine a Sims game where all the content you would expect from the previous release was included at release: Pets, Seasons, apartments, university, careers, etc. Unless Maxis has plans to end Sims 4 development sooner than people expect to focus on making a better iteration of the Sims, I can't see Maxis continuing on as a game development company, especially if a competitor sees the opportunity and makes something new.
Probably because the AI in the Sims games is actually kind of nuts and would be hard to recreate.
so the update is out [t]http://i.imgur.com/rkI0v0R.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/etD7t7o.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/1ucKPsN.png[/t] this is fucking surreal
so the update is out ... this is fucking surreal
Wow, never thought I'd see such an overhaul for... well, any game.
Does anyone here know if there's a mod for the Sims 4 to bring back the color wheel, or at the very least give me more color options for furniture? My favourite part of the sims has always been the building/designing part of the game and I recently bought the Sims 4 so I could build some houses since the building possibilities look great. Now I'm on the designing part of the house and imo the color options are rather limited to the point of irritating.

Is the color wheel back? I saw it in a trailer and was wondering if it was tied to the pets or if its universal.

Been thinking of getting sims 4 but the amount of DLC and extra stuff is kind of overwhelming and a bit off-putting given most expansions cost more than the bloody game. Is anything worth getting in particular?

My main issue with the game revolves around my families restaurant businesses. I own two and basically have to use mods if I ever want to bust a profit from the one I'm not at. And sometimes at the one's I'm managing people will sit down and never order food, then complain about the long wait times while still looking at the menu. Dine Out is so fucking annoying.

If you're curious about anything just find the video and give it a watch. But SoUl_ReApEr2 pretty much hit the nail on the head. The little stuff packs are pretty much not worth it.

Just read about each ex pack or watch LGR and find what ones you actually want features from. This goes for the game packs too.
I tried getting back into the Sims 3 but couldn't because it just ran like total ass. It's a shame because it's so much more enjoyable than 4, but 4 is so much more polished and refined overall and so much faster.

I remember having to periodically move to a new town because the framerate would keep getting worse and worse.
In my experience: disabling Memories really helped with keeping performance for a lot longer.
Also just the way the sims look in 3 is such a turn off. I do like the way the worlds work in 4 in that it doesn't feel too different from Sims 3's open world but I hate how the number of lots is so limited.
If I could have Sims 3's open world with Sims 4 personalities and looks, I'd adore that, but it would actually have to work. Seriously I can't believe that Sims 3 got a neighborhood in one of the expansions that becomes unplayable if you build anything

They can add dozens of neighborhoods and you'll still keep relationships between them all. Still it's a bit ridiculous that you have to go into a loading screen if you want to visit your neighbor.

Are there any essential QoL/tweak mods I should know about?
