The Sims Megathread - Come on in! The house is on fire but it's ok. Have you seen my basement?
Thanks that's very helpful, ended up picking up Get Together for now since running my very own cult sounds like a grand time.
Are there any essential QoL/tweak mods I should know about?
Not really. Sims 4 is pretty solid in it's base systems. It's just the world shit (or lack there of) that is annoying.
I didn't mind loading screens for going out and about in Sims 1 but I guess there are higher expectations of games now
If all jobs were how restaurants and retail work, the game would be amazing (and the careers but honestly never tried them). Not sure how the vet clinic works yet, but I absolutely love running my own chain of restaurants and making some serious bank.

That's one thing the Sims 3 could have done better. Most of the jobs paled in comparison to just getting good at painting anyway.

I do wish you can just open the restaurant and stay at home though. The fact you have to manage it every time you open it kinda blows.

You can stay home. There are some mods that allow you to get more money too. In fact some of my restaraunts make more money when I'm not there

Usually my restaraunts wouldn't make any money while I was at home so I guess I'll check these mods out.

I use this - it's a bit outdated and sometimes makes things buggy (whenever you buy a new restaurant you have to delete the mod first, buy the restaurant, then move it back into your mods folder) but I tend to just use the base and increased markup. I might look for some better options later but this does an okay job.
The Sims 3 University Life, I accidentally made half the university starve to death.
Playing with the mod relativity, making the clock go slower, giving more time in the day.
I played with numbers to try and make hunger decay a little faster, so sims would eat more meals each day, but in short, university classes were long enough for sims to starve to death.
My own sims were fine, they ate before going to class, the neighbours... not so much, they dropped dead as soon as they left the rabbithole classes.
First actual day re-playing The Sims 4 after a year or 2 of waiting, and we're already starting off with the weird stuff.

I don't know what compels these Townies to do this, or why would think any of this was a good idea. But I miss you too The Sims 4.
That said I can't wait to get my hands on Seasons, since those series of Expansions never fail to bring me in.
