It depends on how much content is missing, if it's just a couple pieces of furniture or something it's fine, but if you're missing a bunch of world textures and set pieces from one of the expansions it's not going to work.
Well crap.
I wanted to use Legacy Island, but I don't have WA or Generations...
Does anyone have any maps that have a good balance of suburbs and city and such that are compatible with AMB/LN/PETS/SEASONS?
Why does my sim keep conjuring apples? He has almost 20 of them in his inventory now.
I'm probably late (it's dated February, but I've never seen it), but TheSims3 just uploaded a previously live broadcast which shows off Island Paradise a bit, as well as some other stuffs.

It's good to know that EA's definition of "house boat" is "a house that's on a boat".
Seriously, this does not look like it'd be structurally sound.

What's the best expansion packs to get?
Thinking of getting back into Sims 3 and I want to know which one to get. I like the look of Seasons but don't know what the amount of content's like

Seasons or Late Night.
Why late night? What cool things it add

Lots of social interactions, cool venues to hang out at, making bands, celebrities.
Origin has a huge sale going on right now, including the Sims 3. Uni isn't as marked down as the rest of the ex packs, but it's still lower than normal.

seasons, late night, and uni. pets is also cool(if you want pets in the game).
I'm getting really bored of playing at Sunset Valley. Too idyllic and verdant for me. :v:

Really depends on your playstyle. I say Seasons is worth it, but that's because of Aliens mostly for me. But others don't enjoy the whole nonhuman Sims, so yeah. If you want a good review of them all to be sure, LGR has them up for all the EPs, if you haven't seen those. Funny, and genuinely give you a feel of what an EP adds.

I'm pretty sure you can disable them, and they're only a small feature that have nothing to do with the rest of the expansion.
I got supernatural because I wanted fairies and werewolves etc in my town.

Yeh, I've been watching his stuff on YouTube after someone posted the Uni review on here. His reviews are brilliant.
Will most likely grab Late Night & Seasons if they go on sale on Steam
This is so fucked up

His voice is so soothing.
why does this game load so fucking slow? takes forever to start a game and even longer to save and quit, it's starting to make me regret wasting so much money on all these expansions. any solutions?

My favourite is the Katy Perry's Sweet Treats one
Is there any mods to make the loading time faster? When I start a new town, it takes 5 minutes to load.

No. Mods will only increase load times too because it's more stuff.

De fragment the game files.
my game keeps crashing in Create-a-Sim whenever I load up the clothes tab...any ideas? should I lower graphics options?
You might be running out of memory.
I absolutely hate University Life for the sole reason that it doesn't allow you to switch households once you start playing a sim in university. You're practically stuck with the sim for 1-2 in-game weeks which sucks because college gets really boring after a while.
On the other hand, I just got TS3 Pets which is working out okay for me so far. My only gripe is being granted full control over pets. Taking care of pets doesn't pose much of a challenge anymore given that you could just cancel their actions and query new ones for them. But whatever.

But I like that feature, why cant you just not cancel their actions if you don't like it?

Is it just a crash to desktop, or does the game freeze up?
If it's the former, then
You might be running out of memory.
may be right. If you're on a 64bit system and have plenty of RAM, you can try adding the game to your DEP exception list, which should work. I've had to do this with every expansion so far, otherwise it'll just crash once I load in.
My game only stopped crashing after I did the DEP stuff
Does it run faster with the DEP stuff? How does it work exactly?
