The Sims Megathread - Come on in! The house is on fire but it's ok. Have you seen my basement?

I don't know if you guys are wearing rose-tinted glasses or what, but the ex packs for The Sims have been practically the same for every iteration. School, pets, seasons, vacations, night life, supernatural, apartments, then some other stuff. It just so happens that Sims 3 had the most expansion packs of the Sims games, but there were also so many that personal preference came into play when it came into what you wanted out of them. If I could go back in time, I'd have never bought World Adventures, Pets or Showtime because I haven't liked or used anything out of those ex packs and I still haven't thought about buying Island Paradise or Into The Future.
I'm honestly a bit surprised they haven't adapted a different business model with the sims
For example releasing the base game for free and then selling expansion pack at ridiculous prices
I'd imagine they'd sell a lot more that way
Their late night expansion better come first

If not, I'd at least hope they'd add something like Late Night in the base game, instead of just making a shitton of expansions. But of course, it's EA, so that's expected. Would be something if pets were in the base game, but they obviously have that ready for an expansion. Speaking of which, I wonder what CAS will be like for Pets in The Sims 4

World Adventures... I didn't like the travel bit, however an ability to build a BASEMENT was worth it.
Sims can't be sims anymore, if you can't lock whole neighbourhood in your basement.
Weather, pets and this kind of things should be on Sims 4 base game. It's so sad that they won't do this
I hope that Sims 4 is at least more optimized, Sims 3 was awful in this aspect

Late night is by far one of their most popular expansions so I think they'd be smart if they included late night stuff in the base game.
Seeing that cityscape in the background gives me hope.
I hope they make it easier to make cities, or make more than one city this time, because I liked that kind of map more than most of the suburb ones from 3.
So I decided to get one or two of the expansions to Sims 3, because they were pretty cheap.
I present:

Dodgy Dan, the Hotdog Man.
I fully intend to make this guy end or ruin the lives of every other sim in the town, but first he needs to start small.
I kind of want to get a 3 expansion since a few have gone on sale but on the other hand, we're 3 months away from 4.

surely if its their most popular they'd do better to make it an ep again ??

1:22 is that kim jong-un?
Also obama flipping burgers at 1:34 and photobombing around 20 seconds

There better be boxing gloves to accompany that wrestling mask.
Dodgy Dan, preparing for step one of Operation: Fuck Everything has attempted to master the darkest of magics.
Explosives.
Unfortunately, in attempting to evoke the powers of the elder god Ci-Fore, he burst into flames.

Having thought he understood what went wrong, he went back to work on his explosive mastery.
Before promptly combusting the moment he touched the bench, again.

And then he broke the shower putting himself out.

Literally the shittiest supervillain ever.

Only as a store item that you had to pay for.

You actually get basements no matter what expansion you get
Looking forward to this one
one thing that worries me about sims 4 is that the game is 3 months from coming to stores and we pretty much havent heard anything about how jobs work in this game and how the kids behave, family life etc etc, or even if the neighborhood is open like in sims 3. it seemed open in the trailers and screenshots yea, but ea hasnt yet even stated if its gonna be that way.

Yeah, they're going to get rid of one of the greatest advancements of the Sims series. Closed neighborhoods confirmed.

source?
Edit; shit you were joking, jesus im tired :v: but yea i know it sounds ridiculous that theyd not include that in sims 4 but it just so odd that they give out so vague answers about how the neighborhood works. As long as the neighborhood is open and its less buggy and slow as in sims 3, ill be happy.

I wonder if we'll get an expansion for Sims 4 where you can build space stations.
I mean, we got houseboats in Sims 3
[QUOTE=Atlascore;45073676]According to some interviews from E3, they're actually getting rid of 100% open neighborhoods, instead they'll be split into districts that you load into, apparently the loading time is fast (30~ second), and each one will contain several homes and commercial lots.

well as long as the loading times really are 30 seconds and not 7 hours like loading up a neighborhood in sims 3, this should be fine.
I kinda hope this means each district is somewhat big and different, like say have a downtown and a nature-friendly area etc etc
