I hate how they say there's a lot of styles to choose from, more than any other game, after just confirming you can't customize patterns and colors like you could in the last game. No, it isn't more than any of the previous games. Customization means unlimited styles. So customization for colors and patterns confirmed for $20 expansion right there
I want them to release a CAS demo, like with 2 and 3 (and 3 pets)
Really digging how the hat/shoe adapt to their hair/what they are wearing
The lack of swimsuits worries me. Also no toddler customization? I'm aware there are babies and toddlers but c'mon!
Really digging the new multiple outfits feature
No pools or toddlers available in the base game
No pools or toddlers available in the base game
I think they just merged toddlers and babies together. Babies were worthless distractions anyway, so if they made the baby more like the toddler I'd be okay with that. And their new neighborhood and world connection system sounds awesome. [editline]25th June 2014[/editline] Also while no pools is disappointing I rarely used one anyway so I couldn't really care. But it's kind of dumb they didn't include such a simple feature.
https://twitter.com/SimGuruGraham/status/481874460455088128
What the fuck. I enjoyed raising the toddler. Why the fuck did they ditch them yet keep the worthless babies
https://twitter.com/SimGuruGraham/status/481874460455088128
Can't say I give a fuck, I always just went with a single Young Adult anyway.
Apparently garages driveways and basements are also out? I think that is just a rumour.
Doesn't that just mean you can't customize your toddler, but they will be in game anyway? I never bothered to do any customizations on them, as I wanted them to be GONE ASAP(grow up), as they were waste of time. He just said they didn't combine them and shoehorn them in, by that last statement I guess it's just about editor?
As expected, they are leaving out a large amount of content from the base game that will then be added again in DLC or expansions.
As expected, they are leaving out a large amount of content from the base game that will then be added again in DLC or expansions.
Really, they've had Sims 2 and Sims 3 and all the content for both of them combined is a absolute fuck ton, yet each time they ditch all of it and go back to what is essentially just a foundation to add onto later to sell us with what they could have easily just included into the game. I could understand SOME of them not working without a little tweaking due to how neighborhoods and locations are being handled differently in Sims 4 from 3, but what about stuff like Open for Business, or all the stuffffssss packs? It's basically taking Sims 3, tightening the mechanics a bit but shedding all the weight so there's very little left. I'd be happier if they just applied these new improvements to Sims 3. It would have been less work for them, and more value for us
Fuck that. It's not like I want Sims 3 to take longer to load.
Sims 4 is really treading a rocky path with all these removals. Hopefully it's not a launch day disaster like Simcity 5 was.

Is there any word on the rabbit hole situation?

No pools, toddlers, Create A Style (the biggest loss of all), possibly basements, and who knows what else is completely irrelevant I guess. At least I can sleep soundly knowing that my sims will feel more confident if they're wearing red clothing. Maybe with all the time they saved by not coding pools they'll remove the rabbit holes. Right? I'll see you guys in 2 years after they release the "Sims 4: Swimming Large" expansion. In the meantime, I'll be building a nice house out of all these boxes.

Geezus, once people have every ex pack it's like no one remembers what was in the game in the first place. I'd be willing to bet Sims 3 had more base content than Sims 2 when it first came out.
Really digging the new multiple outfits feature
Wasn't this a feature since the Sims 2?
I imagine that a pool tool wouldn't take much effort to be made since there is a fountain tool in the base game
I imagine that a pool tool wouldn't take much effort to be made since there is a fountain tool in the base game
theres probably a lot of stuff that takes little to no effort to add to the base game but this is EA and they know rich 14-year-olds will get money from their parents to buy each and every new expansion pack and stuff pack that EA pumps out, so they might as well leave a lot of stuff out. unbelievable that theyd leave out an entire life stage though.. i thought toddlers were pretty cute and they could have a lot of potential. if you get sick of them you can just use cheats on them to grow up immediately, come the fuck on EA..

Honestly, I'm not too fussed about toddlers or pools. Toddlers I found annoying to look after and while it does break the immersion a little it's not going to stop me getting the game. Pools are the same, I haven't used pools in the Sims since the first game so it's a moot point in my books.
Wasn't this a feature since the Sims 2?
If I understand it right, the outfits get randomized as you put them on, while in sims 2 you had to select another base outfit if you wanted another one
if no toddlers means i dont have to spend most of its' parents free time teaching the little fucker how to walk and talk I'm all for it.
Hopefully there is an abundance of ways to build concentration camps/prisons/"testing" facilities in the new one.
I hope they handle space sharing better. I was so sick of Sims getting stuck trying to go somewhere when they can easily squeeze by
