The Sims Megathread - Come on in! The house is on fire but it's ok. Have you seen my basement?

Honestly the hype EA is trying to bring with this whole "omfg emotions" thing just doesn't make me much excited. It's like they are making a big deal of something that has always been there. Yes, I know that somethings are going to be different but the essence of it is nothing really new.
The game still does look good, though I'm a little disappointed with a few things.
Honestly, I'm not too fussed about toddlers or pools. Toddlers I found annoying to look after and while it does break the immersion a little it's not going to stop me getting the game. Pools are the same, I haven't used pools in the Sims since the first game so it's a moot point in my books.
I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. I rarely used toddlers, and never really built pools for my own lots. But them being removed? ...the fuck?
How the hell am I supposed to make my dream house without pools?

I never trusted pools after 3 of my sims managed to drown themselves in the first 5 minutes of moving in.

How did you get your sims killed,lol..In sims 3 your sims are pretty hard to kill in the pools, they get off immediately if theyre tired and only drown if u force them to stay there. The fires are a pain in the ass though, all the sims just gather around it and die off quite quickly if they catch fire.
what a good lesson on how important a fire alarm is
Im not too fond of toddlers like a lot of the people here (they're kind of cute though [sp]sometimes[/sp]), but getting rid of them completely sounds like a stupid move to me just because of how immersion breaking it is imo. Though if they merged the baby and toddler life states together, i guess that'd be okay. Maybe they've made aging through life stages seamless now?
They confirmed they haven't combined toddler into any other life state so that's fucked.
Fuck toddlers. Fuck the king.
I'll miss the toddlers. It was a lot of fun putting one in a high chair, and then putting that high chair on the roof.

Sick fuck
I think I shall install Sims 3
Yeah this is weird for me. I usually skipped toddlers, and I never built pools...
So one part to me doesn't care much, and the other part of me is pissed its just flat out removed.
No create-a-style is flat out lame though.
So I just regot the Sims 3 + Pets during the Summer Sale. The last time I played it was way back when it was just world adventures and ambitions. When did it become like a mobile game with micro transactions everywhere?
Midway through 2008.
While one update for 3 did make it more noticeable, it was always there (Just integrated badly)
My favorite thing that happened to me in The Sims 3 was based upon pools, so it's a shame to see them go.
Basically, one of my Sims were getting married, the standard, and I decided for them to have their wedding party at a swimming pool. The bride-to-be and all her friends jumped into a pool, and as the actual wedding commenced, everyone got out the pool. Except the bride.
Everyone was waiting impatiently, as she sat in a pool screaming for help, before drowning.
My guy was distraught and crying for days.

I had a similar experience, where 3 of the guests drowned, and one of them kept passing out in their own urine.
I found a Sim who's last name is Schlick
heuheuheu
also now I'm bored with my current save :( How do I make it more exciting/interesting?

Who are these fucks coming to my house?
I have to click "Room-mates -> Dismiss", I never asked anyone to be my room-mates
Has the dlc been part of a daily sale yet? I've been thinking about getting the most recent one.

I've seen Sims 3 pop up in flash sales and as community's choice too. And those include DLC.

What?, I don't see any micro transactions except those EA made towns, which you could easily downloaded much better ones made by the community...

Whenever you're in the store/clothes menu, there's a few items that need to be bought with real money before you can use/wear them

I see but surely you could still just download community made stuff?
Whenever you're in the store/clothes menu, there's a few items that need to be bought with real money before you can use/wear them
those are advertisements and were also always available in the sims 3 store online
in fact having them in game arguably makes it more convenient to buy them if you have simpoints ready

yeah, yay for microtransactions for things that should just be there anyways.
@SimGuruAzure
@ashleighanne90 Your Sim can totally have a career as a stand up comedian!
Nice to see that we can work at EA in this game

You can turn that off in the options menu.
I honestly hate kids in real life, I don't feel any different about them in games...actually I probably hate them more in games.
Killable Children for Skyrim, perfect mod.

Seems like they make the kids as annoying as possible because you can't kill them anyway
i killed the Llama mascot with a bodyslam and made a old woman go flying into the air with a punch.
mods are cool.
Tried playing the best game ever (aka Sims 1) but it crashes because the game is too dated
I don't think there's any reason for me to live

No... I don't think so ...
I wouldn't want to live too, if I couldn't play it.
This is what you must to do now:
Go into a pool and unscrew the ladder, then throw it out of your reach.
Then you won't be able to leave the pool, thus you will leave this world like a true fan of The Sims series!
