Which folder do I need to have if I want to apply changes? Fun with Pets? Seasons? Free Time? It's about TS2 Ultimate.
Fun with Pets > SP9
Thanks. http://www.leefish.nl/mybb/showthread.php?tid=5446 About Step 4: ''Close the game, and go look at your config-log.txt in your log folder. Go to the bottom of the text file and check for anti-aliasing - Device properties'' Where am I supposed to find this file? I already searched for config-log but found nothing :(

Before it's should look like this : The Sims 2™ Ultimate Collection After : The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection i found that fix on google, worked for me!
This was the issue! Holy shit, thanks. I never would have bothered with something like this.
Even tho I've had the sims 2 ultimate collection for about 2 days now, I never actually sat down and played it, I never went into make a sim or anything, just went into a town and changed my settings. I am scared that my experience when I was little will be ruined because I am older now. And because I own The Sims 3.
The biggest problem I have with the Sims 2 is how empty everything feels. I thought the Sims 3 was empty but the Sims 2 is just completely barren.
I'm scared... I loved the Sims 4 CaS demo so much, but I'm worried the game's no gonna be too good...
I want my demo code already :(
Wait you need a code? I just had it in my library for some reason.
So, I downloaded some Harry Potter characters and sent them to college. Hermione and Luna are just pillow-fighting all the fucking time, but they're getting A+ nevertheless. I wish my college years were like that.
Its funny I always though Sims in 3 always had same-y doughy faces and that 2's were much better. But playing 2 again and they don't look as varied as I remember.
So is it impossible to play with sim-shadows on newer systems? All fixes for the black rectangles involve just removing sim-shadows completely
So is it impossible to play with sim-shadows on newer systems? You're not really missing much by playing with medium shadows.
Its funny I always though Sims in 3 always had same-y doughy faces and that 2's were much better. But playing 2 again and they don't look as varied as I remember.
i remember always using the same preset face in TS2's CAS because every time I bothered to touch the sliders I ended up with some godawful looking abomination. at least TS3s CAS offered more flexibility, even with the clay looking skins and all that. literally all the males in the families i made in TS2 had the same base faces with the only variations being in whether if they had a beard or not.

My sims 2 is freezing at the first loading screen , right after the initial video , any tips to fix it?
My sims 2 is freezing at the first loading screen , right after the initial video , any tips to fix it?
It's not freezing. It's always slow to load on the first launch. Just wait it out, choose a neighborhood and wait that out. Then it'll load faster in the future. It's got to make quite a lot of files in the documents folder and all.
Have you guys ever heard of the painting goblin trick? Well someone went full sociopath-mode and out did it by using child labor. Does anyone know how long Sims 2 is going to be free for?
Okay I want to play this because it's all I used to do so I downloaded the Ultimate Edition and it will not work. First it refused to load because Paul.dll was messing it up so I grabbed a new dll. Now it's saying it is unable to load LanguageFile "lang.ini" Yes, I've repaired my download. Augh [editline]24th July 2014[/editline] Windows 7 64 Bit
I seem to be the only person with this problem, holy fuck I'm tearing my hair from my scalp jesus.
Does anyone know how long Sims 2 is going to be free for?
Until some time the 31st.
Can someone with The Sims 2 Ultimate Edition upload their lang.ini and tell me where its located cause mine is NOT there.
or their paul.dll [editline] merge broke [/editline]
Here's my paul.dll. I can't find any file called lang.ini, does the game tell you where it's expecting the file to be? If so I'll try and find it. https://mega.co.nz/#!hsUgyb5L!_ZJrQeRc8Nexzxpq4B7GgA8NRrHcyxrasLXZ5DEgNS4 It goes in Fun With Pets\SP9\TSData
Is there any way to make Sims 2 a borderless window mode? , i really hate the fact i cant alt tab
I remember starting a fresh save in The Sims 2, and especially after playing Sims 3, it was pretty... empty. But then I loaded up a save I had years ago, and that brought back all of the nostalgia. I had a 20-something story building that I converted from one of those two story homes in pleasantview (w/e the first neighborhood was), all kinds of weird stuff like that. If you guys have any saves from the yonder years, definitely load those if you can. [editline]24th July 2014[/editline] So did EA really mess up this Ultimate edition? I haven't had a chance to launch it yet, but besides the usual old game problems, it seems like there are quite a few related to this edition in particular.

I haven't had a chance to launch it yet, but besides the usual old game problems, it seems like there are quite a few related to this edition in particular.
If your talking about all the fixes you have to do, its just the way the game was designed. It would set your video settings appropriately based on your GPU. Problem is, its database stops around the Nvidia 6 series in 2004-2005 (and the Intel and ATI equivalents). On top of that, all three have significantly changed their drivers since then so it doesn't even detect that correctly. Since it can't detect your GPU, it assumes you have a very low end card for the time and runs in software mode. As for some of the other issues, it depends on your OS/setup/luck, as there are known Windows 8+ issues. As far as getting the game to run, I had no issues on my Windows 8 laptop, although I'm running it in Windows 7 compatibility mode and as administrator to get the Nvidia graphics switching right. Honestly, I expected more issues, since this game is considered Win98 capable and isn't going to be designed around modern OS's and drivers.
Hmm. I thought I heard Sims 4 was going back to separate lots but now it seems that's not the case. I just read it and it seems there are "worlds" that are separated into "neighborhoods" (one world is confirmed to have 6), with neighborhoods being small scale open world areas. But travelling between neighborhoods takes loading time. Honestly, while I'm gonna miss TS3's style of world, that doesn't sound too bad. I was afraid we'd be going back to individual lots- that would have been a near deal breaker for me. I just hope the neighborhood areas are a decent size. At the very least I can imagine the new system might make the town seem more lively by having everyone live on closer proximity.
