I knuckled down and actually played my sim legit. It is actually quite enjoyable being able to slowly upgrade all of your old shitty things into nice new things.

I only cheat when I want a family to start out with a little extra cash and specific things, otherwise I try to play legit as much as possible. Once I reinstall 3 when I get home I'm gonna try and play an entirely legit 4 person family. I'm sure that'll turn out great (i.e. the parents will die horribly and the children will become anti-social closet murderers)

Last time I played 3 as a single eccentric inventor/ghost buster dude who loved the outdoors. In the beginning he didn't even have a house, just a patio with a roof and a shack to house the bathroom. All in this in the recreated Sims 1 neighborhood. I stopped playing him because having a butler, a gem collection, a lawn covered in magic gnomes and various inventions, a gigantic vegetable garden and a growing Simbot family was just a little too much after a while :v:

Me and the girlfriend are gonna pre-order TS4 tomorrow as we're both excited and looking forward to it :D

I can't play the sims 2 anymore it's too much of a step down from 3, but I can't be assed to reinstall sims 3 and all it's fuckin expansions

Guys, is there a way to play a single Sim inside of a family and having all the other guys be NPCs? I want to concentrate on playing a teenager/young adult and I don't want to just put all the other sims on free will and ignore them. Sims 3, by the way.

University's patch also added the roomate function. I think you just ask any sim you want to have as a room mate, mark the beds for them to use and go from there. They'll retain NPC status the whole time.

Once I had a roommate who never left even after removing them, then a generation later or so they just pop up after I return from the future and depart in a taxi, never to be seen again.

is there a mod that disables cheats i know it sounds really stupid but when i play legit, the second i find myself short of money i always use the money cheats to get by. i want a challenge.

I have decided that my new legit family will be an interesting one. It WILL be four people. Only three of them are family members. There is the dad, who is a bit of a book and science fanatic, and will probably spend most of his time in his office. There'll be the daughter, a bubbly and friendly teenager who enjoys photography. There'll be the housekeeper/lab assistant/whatever, a woman who is both friendly and science-crazy. And then, behind a locked door, an elevator into a basement, and another locked door later, there'll be the twin brother of the daughter. An insane loner computer whiz locked in a room full of electronics, save a small bookshelf, his bed, and a fridge so he doesn't starve to death. He will spend his days hacking people online, and hopefully won't die of hunger.

If you don't get this, vamprisim will spread throughout the community which isn't bad, but what is bad is they might bite Ms. Crumplebottom or another NPC like her who isn't a real sim, which will lead to corruption.

I find it really stupid that the inheritance life-time reward is a thing. for 30K in points you can get maybe 20K in money or you can just get the damn genie lamp and get 300K by wishing for money each time.
