The Sims Megathread - Come on in! The house is on fire but it's ok. Have you seen my basement?

Say, I got TS2 Ultimate a few days ago and since I've never played it on the PC before (I've clocked dozens of hours into the Gamecube version though) I decided to spend a while messing around before doing anything serious. I turned aging off but I noticed that it doesn't look like the bar for seasons is increasing? The bar that counts down "-Number- days until -Season-?"
Does turning aging off stop seasons from progressing? None of the things I've read say so, but I'm not too sure. Is the bar just stuck in stasis like the age bar for my sims until I turn aging back on?
I never even knew of the Sims 4 CAS and I got it :v:
Fucking load of bollocks...
Did you need to sign up for it or anything? I just had it in my library when I went to install Sim 2.
I signed up for something to get me a code for it but I haven't got jack shit, someone I'm live chatting with from the EA Support sent me a link to sign up AGAIN but I get an Error 404, he's also saying unless you signed up to get the game, you won't get it, hmm...
Malcolm: Is there anything else I may assist you with?
you: Unless you can add the demo to my account or give me a code for it, nah I'm good
Malcolm: As you have read the article already that we cannot add the Demo because we do not have the code for it right now.
you: You don't have the code to add it to people's accounts?
Malcolm: Nope we do not have the Demo codes to add it to people's account.
you: So then what the fuck are we signing up for if you can't give out codes so we can add it to our accounts, do you just straight up add it to our accounts from when we sign up or what?
Malcolm: When you sign up for Demo or beta then It will get register in our data base and our system automatically send the codes to the selected customers. And those code are automatically generated by the system and we do not have generate the codes from our side.
you: So you DO have codes just not ones you can personally hand out because they run on an automated system?
you: So when people like me want to do this right now, asking for a code, you're basically telling us to piss off and wait for it to happen while everyone else gets in from unknown shit
Malcolm: I am sorry we do not have any code for the game
you: Actually, I think I'd rather a piss off than this, waiting for a code from an automated system is bullshit when people just randomly get the game added to their account
Malcolm: Okay
Malcolm: Is there anything else I may assist you with?
you: Nope
Malcolm: Okay
Malcolm: Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts, I appreciate your time, Have a Great Day.
Malcolm: Bye and take care
Com'on give Malcolm a break here
Oh god. My sim is constantly getting celebrity opportunities, usually twice a day.
They're all "work out for 4 hours."

Being a dick to customer support guys is a sure-fire way of looking cool on the internet!
That's totally unnecessary, especially because it seems you actually got a guy that took his role seriously. You just came across as a massive tool.
What worlds do you guys recommended for the sims 3?
Can someone help me with OFB?
I simply do not know how to succeed
Sell table lamps.
Nothing but table lamps.
Hundreds of table lamps.
Downloading Sim 2 Ultimate so I can make houses and that's it.
Well I had a fairly normal Sims work day, not. got up and took a shower but instead of putting on her police outfit afterwards, she went fully nude to work, and the fun thing was that there were no censor.

:v:
So can someone give me a list of recommended Sims 3 expansions store content/neighborhoods to buy
I currently have WA,Pets,High end lot stuff,Ambitions and late nights.
Do the box copies of The Sims 2 (as in disks bought way before Origin) require SecuROM or Origin or stuff like that? Because my sisters have TS2 and almost all expansions (excluding the University one) and I would like to play it except I don't want all that nasty uselessware shit on my PC.

You just use the cd-key in the box and whatever was the last expansion you installed is the disc you use to load the game.
oh hey i still have the sims i did for a facepunch sim house thread way back

When 4 comes out I'm gonna have a house filled with really muscular stereotypical dude-bros and they all have part time jobs and when they're not working they're either partying, drinking, or working out.

I simply do not know how to succeed
Restaurants are only fun for you the player, don't expect to make more than maybe $300 a day.
Stores are your sure fire bet. Just focus on getting wholesale rewards first, and you'll be rolling in dough after you get a maxed out Sales badge.

When I used to play OFB years ago, I'd run a hairdressers as you make shit tonnes from it.

True, but I mostly do this to see how they are about it.
That is the worst justification ever.

You seem like a nice fellow!

I did that, too. The money was good, the haircuts were not. :v:
That is the worst justification ever.
I wasn't trying to justify how I was.
I feel sorry for customer support people. The poor bastards have to put up with so much misguided anger. It's not their fault they're employed by a shit company, they're just trying to fucking live.

Yeah. I've had to contact EA's customer support and both times they were helpful and quick.

I will admit though, he was actually being helpful, I just have the whole thing of hating EA to no end, so maybe I had a bit of a bias dragged into it.

Are you playing the game on a calculator?

You were being unreasonably dumb and rude to the guy. He's just making a living doing tech support and you fucking fly off the handle like an idiot about something you didn't even understand.
Signing up for access to games isn't always a guaranteed thing. Most of the times, they just pick users in batches.
