The Sims Megathread - Come on in! The house is on fire but it's ok. Have you seen my basement?

I'd have to force myself to watch the stream. Am I the only one who doesn't want to have his fun from discovering new things spoiled? We can't even savour the aroma of a new game (retail boxes) anymore, now we're watching other people play games...

Only a few more days till glorious Sims 4 or another glorious EA failure
Although I am very optimistic for it. Sims act much better and life-like and it looks to be more vibrant.

There's always the chance that it could be some terrifying hybrid of both.. Building actually does look interesting despite the lack of CAS and at least it's not always-online I guess.

Everytime I see someone saying CAS, I think of Create-a-Sim, so when you said it as Create-a-Style, it confused the fuck out of me.
I feel like five years of ex packs is going to wear on peoples opinions of the game. Sims 2 to 3 didn't matter because it was like "OH FUCK OPEN WORLD HOLY SHIT", so interacting with other Sims had to be really fucking good or I think the initial reaction is going to be "FUCK THIS HORSESHIT" and then by the end of the year it will be "It's fun enough still."
Day 1 is going to be heated.
E: Also, queue an ex pack being announced/released four to six months after it comes out and people being mad as fuck about it when World Adventures came out five months after The Sims 3 released.

But there is still day one dlc. In my book, that's withholding a better game for profit. Aren't game sales supposed to account for the development time? I see nothing wrong with months-later dlc.
But, whatever. I'll vote with my wallet.

I don't have a problem with the pre-order stuff because it's all just cosmetic doodads. It's not like crucial game content is being held back if you don't pre-order like some games.
Im still just praying that TS4 is going to be better coded than TS3. As long as it doesn't take a year and a half to load and crash once a week, i'll be happy.
I had pre ordered the game since it looked fairly good but after i readed about the tons of shit that was removed ( No open world what the fuck?) i decided tojust cancell it...Should i just wait for reviews to come in?
I hope they've improved upon the "lock sims in a room and cause the fireplace to burn everything down" mechanic.

That's a mechanic of your own mind.
You sick bastard

I hope it's improved, too

I fully expect there to be a leaflet inside the box advertising the first expansion pack.

It isn't preorder stuff. They're selling a version for ten dollars more on origin that includes dlc.

Yeah, it amounts to nothing more than cosmetic junk.

Yes you can, depending on what and where you buy.
I only buy Rockstar games retail and usually on the PS3.

Can someone explain to me what Create-a-Style is
I've heard it mentioned so many times and I've been trying for weeks to figure it out based on context clues but I'd like it if someone could just explain it like a really chill dude.

The thing where you can take a piece of clothing and change all of the colors, texture and patterns on it from a huge list of presets and a color wheel.
Now your torture chambers don't even have to be CONNECTED to your home!

You should do this regardless of anything else.

No, shit. I was reminiscing about the old days, when people actually had to get up and visit the store to buy a box.
I really hope this turns out good, I haven't played the sims since 2 and I have next week off work, so its a good time to indulge in this.
