The Sims Megathread - Come on in! The house is on fire but it's ok. Have you seen my basement?

Very good first impressions on the multi-task system. Seems very flexible. Have a sim cooking a meal and someone sitting at the dining table chatting to them while they're not busy (like waiting for it to cook in the pan). Pretty cool.
There are a good handful of styled rooms to pick from off the bat. I'm sure there will be more via the community shit.
This UI is so fucking nice.
Seems like there are going to be Plumbob lamps for every ex pack you own. :v:
Career-based furniture. We already knew about it but it's kinda neat to actually see it.
Color options on items range from really limited (3) to actually quite a bit (21).
I can't find the eyedropper tool if there is one.
Looks like you can set the color and intensity of any light in the game. Want a house with all purple lighting? Go for it.
I really want to buy this, but I heard that they removed a bunch of good things ( ages, pools, etc ) and the game is really dumbed down. Is this true? Has this game suffered from EA-itus?

Toddlers and pools are the major things of note. The new content balances out nicely however, and if it's like The Sims 3 there should be a bunch of free stuff coming in patches alongside new expansions. Wouldn't be surprised if pools were in one of the patches.
Looks like there is a special, extra fast "sleeping" speed.
This game really doesn't mess around with needs. If you have a need that is down halfway, that is yellow. 3/4th's down is red.
I can't access my demo sims. Ican't even find them in the community listings. Is that a VPN thing?
Go back to the cas demo and import them again, when I booted up sims 4 afterwards the ones I shared online popped up. Not sure if its a VPN issue though.
So can a sim have more than 3 traits?
Is there any new stuff for CAS in the full game, like clothes or hair, etc?
I haven't even been into CAS in release, but I'mma say yes because Maxis said that was only a small amount of clothing in the demo themselves.
You can take different kinds of showers to get sims into different kinds of moods. Same with mirrors, you can use them to apply different moods.
You're not really in great control of your aspirations. You get them at random, and one of them has to do with your current mood. At the same time, this means you can't really game them for the ones with the best rewards, so I guess I'm ok with it.
On that note, there are still lifetime rewards, but they're just called Rewards now. Some things that used to be traits in The Sims 3 are Rewards now in The Sims 4, which I'm also fine with because it was super easy to game traits in 3.
You can also buy mood potions as a reward. I like the one where it fills your sleep bar, negating the need to sleep. :v:
Is Pancake Bob in game?
That is the most important question.
Is Pancake Bob in game?

I haven't seen Pankcake Bob yet.
When you get into a new home, there is no longer that moment where a few sims from your neighborhood come over to greet you. I liked that, but I guess with how many sims are walking around now it's up to you to interact with them.
Sims still default to watching TV when there is nothing to do.
That reminds me, is the kleptomaniac trait in the game? Even if it was OP as shit it was fun to go around and steal everyone's lamps.
Is the game available for play in the EST timezone? Or only preload?
Is the game available for play in the EST timezone? Or only preload?
It's available on the 2nd at midnight. You can preload it though.
Finally playing The Sims 4, woo. Loving the UI
Question, did they really remove cars? Or do I have to dig in the game for them..

Pretty sure they said they removed cars.
There is actually a line of milestones to accomplish for your Aspiration. There are four "levels" of milestones for each one. Sometimes aspirations from the same category will share some early milestones.
You can also change your Aspiration whenever you want, which I think is a little odd but whatever.
Garauntee cars will return in the inevitable Nightlife-esque expansion. Or at the very least in another.

Sucks they're doing a Sims 2 again with cars. Oh well.

I'm already seeing a handful of things that make me think "This will be expanded on later." Take that as you will, but it's just The Sims being The Sims imo. There were a ton of ex packs for 2, a ton for 3, there are going to be a ton for 4.
"Special super speed" applies to when your sim is at work too.
Unless I totally missed it, when your sim goes to work he just kinda walks outside his house an disappears off the map, then reappears when he comes home. It's like The Sims 2.
When your sim has a lot of low needs they'll stand around and complain, they'll grumble while doing things like cooking or going to the bathroom.
Your Needs button with actually show what your most urgent need is when they're low. Neat.
When your sim goes out to jog it's limited to your neighborhood area.
i wanted to preorder but now all of a sudden its giving me some bullshit #10048 error, oh well.
Pretty sure that "super speed" has always been around.
In every game it always activates when your entire household is asleep and/or at work.
Is it true that there can only be 4 families in the town at one time?

Usually it's just the third speed, but this one goes faster than the third speed and there is no button for it. It just happens.

I am friends with Bob Pancakes in the game.
I did a sprint for him when I seen him.

Also the Sims are smarter. If you start planting or watering a plant, they'll automatically water/plant all adjacent plants without the need to queue them up 1 by 1, for example.
There are 13 different collections with a ton of collectable stuff.
My sim was so proud of the tacos he made he took a picture of them.
There is no bookstore anymore, you just buy books from a menu via a bookshelf. Kinda lame.
well , so far the game has been great! the sims feel and look MILES smoother now and the new create a sim editor is fucking amazing!, Im kinda bummed down we have all of these new jobs but still do absolutly nothing while they are on the job so i spend about 5 minutes of my gametime waiting for the guy to come from the job
If you take a screenshot (C) and set it as an "Inspiring memory" it opens the option to think back to that memory and you get the inspiring mood.

The Sims community is one of the worst I've ever seen.
