It's a-okay. I have no real complaints so far.
I'm having an incredible time. All the problems i had with Sims 3 (stupidly long loading times, freezing, crashes) are all gone. The game runs smooth as butter, it's so fun to just go to a bar, hold a group conversation, buy everyone a drink. Even things down to the small details like choosing what pizza when ordering other the phone, Being worried when accepting someones invite to come over.
Paid £24.69 for the limited edition from CDKeys using their 5% off discount code for liking their Facebook page. Bought 5 things from them now and their service has been phenomenal.
One time it accidentally processed my payment twice so I wrote on their facebook wall about it and within 2 minutes someone had PM'd me, retrieved the order number and instantly processed a refund for one of the amounts
What about The Sims 4 that stands out the most when compared to The Sims 3? Besides that character creation. Like.. what's new? I'm not buying into that emotion crap tbh
Sorry! But that emotion crap is the answer. Well, part of it.
I thought it was quite bullshit too the "OooooOoooOoo Emotions!!!" approach they used in the advertising, but it's quite good. It changes up the speed you do stuff in, how effective you do it, and even what you can do depending on your mood in addition to sims reacting to each others moods. It makes the game so much more lively and you just really need to worry about the Sims mood, instead of managing the 10 or so little needs bars, despite those still being there.
Build mode is the other big step up. It's much more fun to use. It takes much less effort without removing the flexibility of what you want to do, in fact it's more flexible.
Other than that, the optimization.
I really want to play. But I can't buy the game because Origin is not accepting my credit card and my bank seems to think nothing is wrong and Origin customer support is TERRIBLE.
Is it harder to be flush with cash in this game? It seemed like in Sims 3, I wasn't necessarily wealthy but I never had issues paying bills or dealing with the usual rough and tumble while slowly upgrading the home
It depends what you do really. Right now the only reason I've got any money is because I have someone in the household making great paintings. It'd be quite hard to even just pay the bills if you just had one of the standard careers going I'd say.
The punishment for missing bills is much more severe in this as well as the extra cost.

This is going to sound dumb, but it's something that you need to see work in-game more than just hear them talk about. I said a little bit of it above, but if they actually took the time to show the interactions it caused people might have been more receptive to it. Instead they just kinda went "THESE EMOTIONS!1!"

After playing it for 6 hours, I can say it's good in my opinion. It has lost a lot of nice stuff, but it has a lot more fun to it in my eyes. It's just not like any other Sims game, in my honest opinion. I just hope pools, and cars will return in the future.

I found him!
He looks a little different than I expected though.
Im not liking these loading screens when visiting lots.

In Sims 3, practically the whole town you played in, ran in real time and it ran like ass. The loading times are of 10 seconds maximum each and that's not even with me installing it on my SSD. They're subtle, nice looking and they aren't slow in the slightest. Especially no where near Sims 3 loading times

I hated the amount of time you had to wait when starting up the game in TS3. It was ridiculous, especially when packing on expansion pack stuff
My Sim is all "this bitch..."

You know the only thing you miss out on with the loading screens is the boring as fuck taxi rides everywhere.

Wow getting it for $25 off feels almost criminal, but we're talking about EA here so I don't mind.

So you activate the key in Origin then restart origin in a korean vpn and begin downloading?

You can download it before going on the Korean VPN, but you need to close Origin, turn on the VPN, start Origin and you should be good to go.

You can pre-load anyway. You need the VPN each time you restart your PC, just to keep it activated

Not the safest thing in the world but I'd recommend this and connect to a Korean VPN:

I have my own VPN but thanks!
I finally got the purchase to work on cdkeys and I got the game for $43. I hope it was worth it.

considering just booting up vanilla sims 1 and crying myself to sleep
I feel like the autonomy in 4 is better than 3. I don't have anyone starving themselves in front of the TV or computer, although my sim couldn't sleep because I left the stereo on and they didn't turn it off themselves so I guess it's kinda moot.
How are people playing if it's not even out yet
Also, I asked about this but nobody answered
how do i play sims 1 on windows 8 it doesnt work thanks
People are playing it already thanks to the magic of VPN's.
Been playing for about half an hour now and this is great. So smooth and it's so easy to do things. I would always encounter something in the previous Sims which would botch what I intended for my Sim to do but now they actually perform exactly what I want them to do and in a timely manner. I'm going to have so much fun building too. Building is arguably one of my favorite parts about the Sims. Time to make a trendy industrial loft
wtf happened? I look away for 30 seconds and all of a sudden the stereo is broken and...

THIS is on the bathroom floor.
wtf
