wtf happened? I look away for 30 seconds and all of a sudden the stereo is broken and... THIS is on the bathroom floor. wtf
looks like a proper sims game lemme purchase it
Gotta enjoy the looks of this game, [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/LR6GUDp.jpg[/thumb] Also, I dunno why, but my Sim walking into his daughters room in his underwear with a glass of milk to talk about random stuff cracked me up, [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/lTjlSnd.png[/thumb]
I decided to challenge myself into making a decent house for 3 people with a garden in the one of the smallest (if not the smallest) plot in the game to keep costs down. goddammit i feel like i need this game aaahhhh
Anyone know how to import the characters you made in CAS into the real game without uploading it to the servers? I saved most of the people I made onto my computer.
Tried my hand at making a mission-style home. Haven't done anything on the interior yet though. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Ij76a6Z.jpg[/t]
So how right was that list of "missing features"?
So how right was that list of "missing features"?
Quite a lot of it is right. Quite a lot of it you shouldn't really concern yourself too much about. When you're going down the list actually think to yourself how much you care about it, because there's so much minuscule stuff on it. Here is my 2 cents: [t]http://puu.sh/bhXVO/210bcee63c.png[/t] Keep in mind this is before expansions or patches, and that list draws a shit ton of things that got added in free update patches and expansions.
Damn that list makes me not want to buy it. They got rid of the stuff I enjoyed. They just Simcity'd the Sims 4. Yeah, I get it. Performance is greatly improved. I mean of course it is, there is no content. I'll wait and see what they add in the future but I won't be buying any time soon.
So how right was that list of "missing features"?
I've played base Sims 2 and Sims 3 a lot and I'm barely noticing any differences. I'm not scrutinizing but there hasn't been a feature where it just stops me in my tracks and I'm like, "Huh this wasn't here" or, "Why can't I do this". When you read the list of missing features it sounds like it will be extremely limiting and like you're playing a gimped game, I don't get that feel at all.
They just Simcity'd the Sims 4.
Hardly.
The thing is the list looks at everything that was removed or changed. It doesn't look at what was added, and that does make a difference. I've been playing the game for the last 12 hours and it literally flew by. Haven't run out of stuff to do, and I don't think I will any time soon.

Maybe I was the only one who enjoyed the openness of TS3 and all the cool features like CAST. I loved roaming around in the TS3 seeing what other sims were doing. I don't know, to me it feels like a step backwards in a lot of areas. Feels like Simcity. They took a lot of stuff and improved it (Graphics, simulation, etc ) but then took away a lot of stuff I enjoyed in SC4 (bigger lots, etc.) Which is sad because I really love the Sims franchise.

I'm not happy they're gone, especially open neighborhoods, but I'm willing to compromise and having played Sims 4 for like 10 hours today, I can tell you it's nothing like the debacle that was SimCity 5. For one, I can play it on release day (nine hours early too).
Just bought the game, how do I set up a VPN to play it early?
but the better question: is it worth buying the digital deluxe edition right now..or wait (or get cdkeys' limited edition)
Just bought the game, how do I set up a VPN to play it early?
There was tutorial posted a few pages back that worked perfectly for me.
For those who want to use a VPN Use this tutorial It's really easy. My time of unlock went from 11:00pm tomorrow night to 10:00am tomorrow morning (so like 12 hours from now instead of 24).
[editline]2nd September 2014[/editline] Curse you pieclock!
[del]-Skyward got it-[/del] E: Curse you PieClock!
but the better question: is it worth 40 dollars at cdkeys right now
That depends on how much you enjoy The Sims. If you've enjoy the previous games without the need to light people on fire I'd say go for it.
That depends on how much you enjoy The Sims. If you've enjoy the previous games without the need to light people on fire I'd say go for it.
i really enjoyed the previous sims, i've played each one, usually with at least half or more of the expansions by the end of its lifespan. the only thing of sims 4 that bothers me is the lack of story progression, where the neighborhood is kind of just static.
I think I'll wait and do what I did for Sims 2&3 and get a bundle with Base Game, Nightlife-equivalent, and a stuff pack. In the meantime I'll pick up my old Sims 2 save now that I have all the expansions for it

They could ship a dual binary deal, but that greatly increases QA demands, and honestly wouldn't help much (3 needs 64bit more than 4 does, removing the "open world" not only sped the simulation up, it greatly cut RAM requirements)
You don't need that much RAM to run this game anyway. I highlighted it as a problem because it's something that I can see why someone would be miffed about, unlike the lack of acne.
The biggest issue I had with TS3 was that it ran like asshole, I'm so glad to hear that this runs much better than its predecessor that I think I can get over the missing stuff. This download is going to feel like it's taking forever.
Windows XP as a supported platform, they need to fuck it off completely, XP is old as shit.
Bob Pancakes won't leave me alone. I swear he shows up every day and just hangs out til midnight.
So, the game isn't as terrible as I expected or what?
Will I have to run the VPN first every time I want to play until it officially releases in Australia?
