I am sick of those useless D.Va meme, she is just not funny and cliche in everyway. her integration in overwatch has been forced as fuck, her voicelines are all cringy (especially in french)

Her backstory and korea backstory don't make a single sense and feel really forced especially that starcraft part. Out of all overwatch character, she is the most ridiculous. That's why i want the junker skins, because it seems more fitting and less cringy for me to watch.

She's one of the few characters that isn't taken completely seriously, which is great. People say stuff like "Blizzard meant Reaper as an edgelord in an IRONIC way", but there's been zero evidence of that, and the comics/videos have been these incredibly solemn stories too. People are injecting some character into personalities that otherwise don't have much, and I don't mind that at all. Let's have some more Doritos Goblin.

Is that a reason to put a player of it in controls of a goddamn mech against other giant "magic" mech releasing from the sea? The starcraft part is very forced to give a reason for her to have a mech, and even then south korea backstory as i said in overwatch is just weird.

Said pre-launch but D.va's issue as a character is that she has no ties to anything. She's just there randomly. Everyone else is tied to Overwatch in some way but she's literally just "gamer grrrrl from Korea, isn't she wacky she streams from her mech!!"

Like she's so divorced from anything it's hard not to cringe at the character itself, good design or not.

The more I see other Reapers looking all sick and edgy with their Plague Doctor skins the more I've grown a liking to Origins Reaper. It just makes him more unique out of the horde of Plague Doctor/Nevermore/default Reapers.

That's part of what i like about the Reyes skin, the guy who has the edgiest voice, looks, lines, animations, skills, effects, just gets turned into a normaly cartoony person, good old uncle Reyes, there's a humorous contrast between his general edgyness and Reyes' casual look and face full of emotions, it's amazing.
I probably wouldn't be able to bring myself to use any other skin for Reaper including the legendaries.
As mentioned before in this thread though i wouldn't say no to an unfiltered version of the voicelines just for Reyes, it probably wouldn't be as ridiculous.

you see d.va is the pro streamer gamer girl stereotype but you have others like

reaper is an edgelord
tracer has an overdone british accent
zarya is the strong [I]russian[/I] woman who don't need no man
zen is a robot monk
lucio is jet set radio

i always find it interesting how people associate male_07 with john freeman. personally i appreciated his facemap long before john freeman became a thing, he's just one hell of a cool looking npc.
