IF there was an upside to having your gfx card die (there isnt any), but if there was. It's that intergrated graphics are good enough to play older games without any fuss, games you'd beaten and long since forgotten about like Commandos 2.

Is there a mod that makes the game closer to a simulation and gets rid of the dumb Health system where your weapons do specific numbers of damage and you have to deplete the health of a ship?
I'd rather watch a ship sink from its damage, or require enough damage to sink, rather than know I have to put at least 3 torpedoes into it because my Torpedoes do 40 damage and the ship has 100hp

there's a mod that does it but it's long gone. i manually made one myself. player torps are pretty much one hit kills depending on the type and hit location, and deck guns do far more damage than they do by default. i agree that it's annoying that it takes 3 torps to sink a merchant ship and it takes 30 deck gun rounds to sink a fishing boat. it's a huge waste of resources and time. my deck guns do 300% damage and my torpedos are set up so ships take on a lot of water if they get hit. it's pretty easy to set up

that being said, though, the game is made to be ez mode even on the hardest difficulty and even with mods. destroyers even in the late game still have a ridiculously small passive/active sonar cone and they lose track of you once you drop down like 20 meters. it's dumb. no other ship is even remotely a threat aside from destroyers, and destroyers are so dumb that you have to be awful at the game to get killed by them
