The Mean Greens: Plastic Warfare (PC) Granted, the game could use more players overall and a loadout feature, but this game is extremely fun to play and one of the few multiplayer TPSs where map objectives actually matter and the levels are crafted for them first and foremost
Rise of the Tomb Raider is as bad as I thought it would be. Genuinely good gameplay features and situations cannot save it from story's impotency (no better word for it), blatant self-copypaste and general autism which creates a strange dissonance - on one hand story itself is a classic situation 'Mama, why they making the fool out of themselves but the one who's ashamed is me?' on the other in-game lore (documents, trinkets and puzzle pieces) is meticulously crafted and well written. Who's to blame? Rhianna Pratchett, who continues to turn to shit every game she touches with her script? Or is it the game designers who didn't even bother to try and make synergy with game story? [del]it's pratchett ofc lel, throw more shit at her[/del] I'd say everyone fucked up, but who did it more it's hard to tell. [sp]IT'S FUCKING PRATCHETT OF COURSE, WHY THE FUCK THEY DIDN'T FIRE HER YET?![/sp] Verdict: Better buy Uncharted.
I bought it for £6.40, so I'm not bothered either way. So far, it's good.
and general autism
What the heck is that suppose to mean?
on the other in-game lore (documents, trinkets and puzzle pieces) is meticulously crafted and well written.
Except the textures on the Russian ones apparently.
What the heck is that suppose to mean?
It means that story makes you to break your face via constant facepalms out of sheer idiocy of the plot (especially near the end and after credits)
Except the textures on the Russian ones apparently.
I already addressed that earlier but if you let this texture artist fuck up slip the whole web of sub-plots (like mercenary doubting Trinity's motives, riot at the old Soviet labor camp, etc) are really not bad and can make you (or me at least) become interested to search for other notes to find out what really happened. [editline]1st February 2016[/editline] Well, anyways, this has to be taken in with a grain of salt because I mostly find this setting interesting and entertaining because it's ultra stereotypical siberian secret soviet base of how they think Russia looks like: i.e. basically Mordor but with snow.
Why did you buy and play a game that you thought was going to be bad then come here to complain about it?
I didn't buy it. I got it for free for buying ASUS GeForce GTX970. (they held an event where any new buyer could claim a free copy on steam) As for why did I play it? Well, since I've got it might as well play it, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. I wasn't. [editline]1st February 2016[/editline] P.S. I mostly advise against buying it if you haven't already.
I bought it days ago and I really enjoy it. Sue me.
I bought it days ago and I really enjoy it. Sue me.
YOU'RE WRONG AND YOU ARE A BIG POO-POO HEAD STINKY SOCKS SEE YOU IN COURT Ahem. Well, we all are entitled to have an opinion I guess.
Uh oh, time for the dissenting opinion to get crapped on because some people are having fun and some people aren't. I couldn't get into the first game, I'll probably pick Rise up when it's super cheap. I don't like how they keep changing her face though, she looked better in the first game.
I'm really enjoying Rise of the Tomb Raider. It has definitely gave me the sense of exploration that some of the first games did in some of the very well crafted optional tombs. Story is ehh, gameplay is fun but nothing new I guess, optional tombs are the shit. The theme is great.

I will never understand how Croteam is able to make such beautiful levels on such a small budget. You see AAA games with 10x the budget and almost never look as good as that.

They like what they do and the money they recieve is the result of it, and they know that. Most AAA games only aims for the money.
that being said, just because you have fond memories of a game doesn't mean it's aged very well
I never really played the old tomb raiders when i was younger (though i used to watch my sister play), and trying them now I don't really find the controls to be annoying. But then again, I seem to be one of very few in existence who likes the idea of having to make sure you have enough room to pick up speed to do a running jump, or anything with slow movement. I'm really not a huge fan of newer platformers where everybody seems like either a freerunner or the most experienced climber on the planet and you jump from ledge to ledge with no problem. It's probably why i prefer the original prince of persia games as well.
