And yeah the armour stacking is nice, I wish the game had some layer info tho so you know cause right now my inventory is cluttered with so much shit. But I think it works like (Undershirt [Cloth shirt, Gambeson] > overshirt [coats, tunics] > vest [waistcoat, leather vests, plate]).
Oh and the puzzles? They're not as hard as you'd like to think, just very, very mysterious.

[sp]A friend of mine was hyping me up about "oh you gotta bring planks to that tunnel, there's gonna be like a million insta-death gaps, MAKE IT GOOD" and I was like "oh no", but I did some exploring to the left side of the map and came across a jailer type place and saw a bunch of levers on the walls, I thought they controlled the jail doors but after pulling them all down, nothing seems to have changed. I later waltz to the pits and find them to be all closed up, so basically they control the pit gates! The next puzzles are based on keeping levers propped down or propped up, might takes some time cause physics. And then a devilish puzzle of having to play with some floor panels that can be weighed down, but I'll let you sit on that one for a while.[/sp]

My GTX 280 could run Mirrors edge just fine with PhysX enabled in 1920 x 1080 and 16x antialiasing.
What GPU are you using? The PhysX stuff shouldn't really affect the framerate that much.

You might need to reinstall the physx drivers that are in the mirrors edge files. Every time I reinstall that game, I have to do that to get a decent framerate.

There's significant memory issues in the version of physx found in steam copies of Mirror's Edge and Borderlands 1. No problems with disk versions though.
Iirc, I fixed it before by reinstalling physx and removing the game's shitty Nvidia 3d vision drivers.
House of the Dying Sun is a very atmospheric game.

Depends if you're a fan of point and click, but the newer games have been reaaally lovely with the interactivity and story. The new one kicked off hard with a bunch of stuff to do and only one case in, I'm hooked.
The older games might get a little ancient depending on how far back you go, but I'd say give some of the old 3D ones a try, every single one is on Steam.
